like the title says, i decided to update the firmware on my wireless router today [ D Link - 624 - model C ] and now i get random disconnects.
i tried reinstalling the drivers, but i still get random disconnects.
trying to find old drivers that i can fall back to but still haven't found any.
any tips?
thanks.

repair connection or set encryption wpa key, setting the key might force it to be connected since it will be allowed.
Also have you just tried resetting the router?, simply unplug it for a good 20 seconds.

repair connection doesn't find any problems
encryption is set to wep, forgot to mention that i was connected by wire.
tried resetting the router through the setup page, and by disconnecting the power.
still no luck in finding old drivers.

unless you can revert back to the old one then you will have to tough it out until the update patch :(.
I updated my netgear and now too much traffic using wireless slams the router causing me to reboot it :(.
I feel your pain..

after doing much googling, i found that a lot of people were having the same problem as me. a simple fix is to disable a bunch of misc functions.
not too long after, i happen to find some old drivers from the UK version of the D Link site, but didn't need to install them anymore.

My router disconnects me a lot too, ive been trying to sort out the problems recently. What functions did you disable? I also have a d link, its a gaming router, I don't remember the model number but I am sure the administrator set up is similar.

Is everything wired? If so, try turning off encryption and any wireless options on the router, so it will just act like a normal router. Also, if your computer is hooked up with wire, turn off any wireless cards/options if you have any. This will force it to connect over the Ethernet cable, instead of searching and finding a weak neighborhood signal.
Also, what firmware are you using? Here are some links to firmware I found (use at own risk of course):

under tools/misc disable the following:
- UPNP Settings
VPN Pass-Through:
- PPTP
- IPSec
