I don't see anything wrong with it. Carter screwed the season for the cowboys.

Quincy Carter needs to either stop doing drugs and focus on Football, or pull a Ricky Williams and retire to focus on getting high full time.
That being said I don't think Dallas will get their money back since that part of the contract only applied to the first 3 years.

Jerry Jones is not the worst NFL owner. That prize goes to Art Modell.

I'd say tie with Al Davis.

A strong case can be made for Al Davis - i say this even though I like the Raiders.

Quincy Carter is a REPEAT offender, and I have no sympathy for him. How does it look when your supposed team leader is using? If anyone should be sensitive to drug use, it's the Cowboys. In the early 90s, half of the NFL players suspended for drug offenses were from one team - the Dallas Cowboys. What's wrong with terminating a player for REPEATED conduct detrimental to the team? I believe that Dallas has every right to go after a prorated amount of his signing bonus, since it was his illegal behavior that led to termination of the final year of his contract.

Carter was a bad QB - and a drug user on top of it. How hard is it to stay clean for a few years while you are in the NFL? I don't feel sorry for him at all and I think he should give back unearned money to the Cowboys. What an ass.

<or pull a Ricky Williams and retire to focus on getting high full time. >
in reply to this comment, this is a big BS comment, no offense. Ricky Williams has a major social anxiety disorder, and smoking weed helps him feel better from it. its not fair to say hes retiring to focus on getting high all the time, he didnt enjoy being aroudn the media and the crowd in football, he felt very sick from his disorder, and he needs weed to feel better.
so its a choice between continuing to play even tho hell be very miserable, or retire so him and his family can be better off.

Maybe he did make the best choice for him and his family, but he should have had the decency to retire at the end of last season and not screw his team over like he did. He was getting paid millions of dollars to do what he did and he was the one who decided to play in the NFL, so it is his responsibility to take care of those things in a proper manner, and not just make excuses as to why he "couldn't" do this or that

I'm sure that's why he went on tour with Lenny Kravitz. He hates being around people.
You're acting as if it's alright for him to smoke grass. Weed is STILL illegal. Ricky is just a screwy guy, he was that way in college. Bottom line, both Ricky and Quincy are wrong for what they did.

Ricky really put his team in a spot. He left right before training camp opened. He probably knew he wasn't going to return yet he didn't bother letting the Dolphins' organization know about it. If he let them know that, they could have pursued Eddie George or Corey Dillon.
Williams is an ass.
