Seeing the trailer for Hellboy 2 reminded me of how much I fucking love Rammstein, (that's their song in the trailer). I've been gathering up their music over the last few days, and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other foreign metal bands as good/better than Rammstein?

Looking for something similar to this:

Dimmu Borgir (only their first album, Stormblast, isn't in English- been around since '93, just released another album last year)

Two songs from Reise, Reise? Meh. Earlier albums are better, but Reise, Reise is still good. I <3 me some Rammstein.

Check out Oomph!

Definitely a different sound, but I'd also recommend Necrophagist.

Ensiferum are also great, but I don't know if that's the sort of foreign you're looking for.

Reise, Reise wasn't one of their first? Huh. I can never keep release dates in order X(

That video was alright, I felt like it was missing something, though...

Ensiferum is definitely not for me.

Anybody have anything good to say about Eisbrecher?

They were before Max left. I'm surprised Igor stayed with that shitty new singer as long as he did.

EDIT: Roots and Chaos AD are two key albums. Preview them on Amazon or iTunes.

Nice ones, Crim Ghost!

Let's see....there's so much stuff out there, but similar to Rammstein?

hmmm, CREMATORY is great, maybe you'll like Theatre of Tragedy, since there's some Euro-Electro sounds in it, but it's a female singer (Liv Kristine), and if you ever wanna get into some slower foreign-language goth-type shit, check out LACRIMOSA.

But if you want to own the greatest album of all time, buy (or download)
CHILDREN OF BODOM- HATEBREEDER

Dude man no way! You're going to dissapoint him. If you're checking out Sepultura, get Schizophrenia and Beneath the Remains. Roots has NOTHING on those albums.

German thrash is all ya need my friend. Start off with Sodom, Kreator, and Tankard. Oh and Destruction, but they're the lesser of those bands.

Reise Reise is their 4th, actually. Mutter and Sehnsucht DESTROY it, even if it contains my favorite song by them.

For foreign metal, can't go wrong with Sigh or Kadenzza, making metal weird and fucked up , because that's what the Japanese do.

I mentioned Roots because I dig the tribal sound. I thought it differentiated them from standard metal. To each his own, though. I admit I did leave out Beneath The Remains. That's a hallmark album.

Roots was ok but it can't hold a candle to their early albums. The OP might dig it though. I think Chaos AD might be a better album for the OP to check out if he is just getting into them. But Beneath the Remains is the way to go. Oh, and avoid all new Sepultura. It's complete garbage, and shouldn't even be called Sepultura anymore.
