I asked (twice) about this but have yet to receive a straight answer.

I ordered a book and preordered MGS Essentials from Amazon in one order. Since the book was in stock and MGSE was a preorder and won't be in stock for a while. I asked Amazon CS what would happen if the book went OOS before they received copies of MGSE mentioning that I understand my order will not ship until MGSE comes in stock.

The first respond I got said I can expediate my order by splitting them up.:-?

I respond to that email clearifying what I meant... and I get a response saying they're sorry for the delay/misunderstanding and asked if I'd like to cancel my order.:bomb:

Do any of you know? If one item is in stock and the other isn't (say it's sold out but there's more coming in or in my case, a preorder), will they hold the item that's in stock so that it doesn't sell out?

Vinny - based on personal experience (even when using SUPER SAVER shipping) Amazon tends to simply ship out the one item as it becomes avail. Applying this to your example above, you should see the book shipping soon (usually within 5 days of order). Unfortunately Amazon doesn't always ship right away and it takes up to 5 days, but you shouldn't worry about them holding onto the book-order until MGS comes out.

Hope this helps - Obviously I don't know how long it's been since you ordered - but if it's been more than 5 days - simply start out by asking them "When will the book ship" etc.

Good luck,
