Need one, going to be doing a few screencasts :)

If you don't care about much sound quality try using a regular pair of headphones. Just plug them into the microphone jack. Should work fine, at least I've done this in the past..

I just tried that..nothing happened, and I looked like an idiot talking into my headphones.

Not sure why it didn't work for you. Maybe not all headphones can be used as a microphone.

If u have a digilink, or like a small computer shop or something around where u live, u can pick up a microphone That looks like this ( I prefer BLACK ) for like $3-6 bucks

Do you have Rock Band? The microphone that comes with it is pretty damn good for a PC mic.

i don't know if you're watching the levels while you tried this but with headphones since they're designed to output sound I find i usually have to get very loud to get a decent sound. I hope you're removing the padding that helped us.
