View Full Version : Expired Xbox Live cards still work?

I remember in the Sears Clearance Thread, people were buying bundles from the original Xbox and using the Live cards in there to renew their subscription. The 1-month card included with Unplugged was expired when I got it, but that worked fine, too. So do all expired cards work? I see people selling them from time to time on eBay, and they sometimes go cheap, sometimes not. Would it be worth getting one?

Yes, I bought one from someone and it worked easily.

Thanks. I was pretty sure, based on experience and what I have read, but I just wanted to make sure before I get one.

I bought one of those old school cards from Target but mine did not work. I called MS and they wouldn't do shit for me. They told me to return it to the store...

YMMV I guess.

I recently bought the 3 month Live gold package with the extra headset from Gogamer and all of the cards had dates that had expired. I punched them in and all worked fine. I now have Joust and 100 MS points!! Woopee..............

I had an Xbox Live 12-month kit + headset for the original Xbox that I tried to activate when I got a 360 and it didn't work. Microsoft/XBL Service people basically said I was SOL and wouldn't do anything about it.

So, it's basically luck of the draw.

I used an old arcade unplugged and it worked great!
