if i recover my gamer tag at my friends house, recover my tag and get 500 gamerscore on his game...
then go back to my house and play offline and get 500 gamerscore on another game (without recovering my tag bc im playing offline)
now when i finally recover my gamertag at my house, will it still recognize my offline score , because id be recovering but the info i got while offline wouldnt be uploaded yet...
do you get what im saying?
does any1 know if it would still add it all to my gamerscore?

all the offline achievements you got w/o your recovered gamertag will not count, when you recover your tag again you will lose them....
always make sure you recover your gamertag before playing anything offline in that situation

No, and that is cheating. You'll get banned for cheating the leaderboard.

Isn't there some kind of risk involved in using the Recover Gamertag process, something about it knackering your content and saves because it regenerates the Gamertag ID.
I seem to remember people discussing it in another thread.

That is exactly what happened. While I was driving from FL to MD I stopped in GA at my brothers-in-law house to spend the night. I recovered my gametag on his xbox just to use my own gamertag as we played Halo together. Since this was the first time really playing Halo online I gained some achievements there.
I then got to MD and connected my xbox (still was offline) and decided to get some Uno achievements offline. I managed to get them and were added to my gamerscore (of course the Halo 3 achievements were not there yet as I had not gone online yet).
Finally I got internet and got live back on. It said I needed to recover my gamertag, once I did it said that any offline achievements would be lost. So I had no choice, I recovered my gamertag and lost my Uno achievements and gained the Halo 3 ones I did at my brother-in-law's place.
So what he said is true :P

Long story short, no gamerpoints are officially added until you connect to Live. If you recover to another 360 it will wipe out the points you earned offline if you hadnt connected to Live before the recovery.

So wait. If I play, say, Crackdown offline, then connect to Live, and it updates it (so they're on my account now on the website). And later I go and recover my gamertag, will I lose those offline achievements? Or is it only if I never connected to Live after earning them?
I guess my question boils down to, can you only recover achievements with the dates on them (ones earned while connected), or are you safe as long as you connect to live after earning offline ones.

No you wouldn't lose those in your crackdown. This is pretty much the same case that happened with me playing Halo 3 with my gamertag at my Bro-in-laws xbox.
Now say you went home after said event. You decide to do some more crackdown but you didn't recover your gamertag from the other xbox. Any achievements gained there will not be added once you choose to recover your own gamertag on your system.
In my head that totally made sense...but dunno if it will to others lol
