Had'nt seen anything about this anywhere else, but Sega is releasing a trio of the Phantasy Star games on the PS2 on 2-1-05, and the retail on this sweet set will be 19.99 (according to ebgames site i was checking while ordering the Konami Classics GBA)
It includes the following
Phantasy Star 1 (responsible for my current love of RPG's... groundbreaking game for the time, and actually worth the 70 paid for it)
I hear they will be incorporating a map in the game this time
PS2: Loved this one too
and in difference to the GBA version...
Phantasy Star IV... had already stopped my genesis playing when this was released... I have NEVER played it, and was frustrated in the cost of pre played carts
PS3 will not be included on this set, but it was my least satisfying experience so far in the series anyway, and i have it on the GBA port too

Can I laugh at the "mames" part please?
I've never heard that as a general term for emulation before.

Yeah, it's been posted before - a long time ago. Too bad it comes out next year. There is a nasty good game shortage right now.

I think he mistaked for something more than a typo. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but there's a certain EMU (emulator) called MAME, so maybe he thought you were saying the plural version of MAME. Then again, I could be wrong.

I'm a bit disappointed actually...They've could've easily put all 4 games on a DVD. I don't really care if #3 wasn't good, what's the point in a collection if there is a volume missing.

I think in the last topic it was stated that it was left out because it wasn't canon (or cannon? whatever) with the other game's stories.

I agree, they should include PS3.

Storylines should have nothing to with it. Even if it's a side story or whatever it should still be there.
I could understand if there was some kind of strategy to withholding it. But I totally don't see the strategy, they don't produce or sell many copies of the GBA Collection and I'm not even sure if they still make that game anymore. It just seems like laziness on the part of Sega and nothing else.

Never played the PS series because I never had an SMS or SG, is it good enough for $20? I can't pass up a good RPG...

I dont understand why they are not including 3 in the set, since the saturn version DID include all of them, but since I DO have part 3 thanks to the GBA collection I dont mind, especially since 4 was what I wanted

Does this remind anyone else of how Squaresoft refuses to release FF3 (the Famicom one) in the US?
ARGH! JUST GIVE US WHAT WE WANT DAMMIT!

Its too bad they moved the release date from mid oct to feb. I was really looking forward to playing part 4 again.
