Connecting Xbox live to wireless network

I am trying to connect my 360 to my wireless router upstairs, I used my wireless laptop with an ethernet cable connected to to the 360, and set my wireless connection to "share this connection", but it still won't connect, I don't want to spend $100 on that stupid wireless conector, any help would be appreciated.

I use my laptop for wireless connection with NO PROBS. right now. Use the link provided in the post above.

Instead of sharing connections try setting up a wireless bridge between your ethernet jack and wireless. It's pretty simple, google "xbox 360 network bridge" and you'll find some guides.
