I'm still thinking one of the better deals is from staples for that Hans-G...

I'd visit Fatwallet or Slickdeals' forums... there's tons of monitor deals on there.

EDIT* Found this on SD, pretty cheap for a 24". I know it's over your limit but this kind of stuff pops up time to time on those sites...

I own that 24" Soyo. It's a good quality P-MVA screen. However, the case and stand feel cheap and it doesn't have many scaling opitons. That can be a problem when a console is outputting a 16:9 signal to a 16:10 monitor.

It doesn't scale? But doesn't the PS3 have an option to use computer monitor resolutions? I know the 360 does because I remember using 1680x1050 on my monitor.

With the Hans-G from staples in has vga and hdmi which means I can go hdmi straight from my ps3 to the monitor. Also anyone have any coupons? I already snagged one from slickdeals.

not sure if you took this into consideration, but you might want to make sure the monitor you buy has hdcp support.....i tried hooking up my ps3 to a 21" acer monitor via hdmi-->dvi and it didn't work because my monitor didnt support hdcp....i ended up buying a special adapter to connect component through vga (cost like $50)
