My current one year deal is about to expire with my current host, which is ANhosting. I'm not exactly enthused with their performance. Every time I check the server status something seems to be at its max limit (CPU, disks, etc.). Plus, whenever I'm using Wordpress it tends to go pretty slow.

So I was wondering if my fellow cheap asses could recommend a good solid host. The only real requirement is that it be able to run Wordpress smoothly. I don't get much traffic at all, it's really only a site for me to have fun with. So I only need a really basic package. Price range: $60-$85.

Thanks for any help.

A Small Orange (http://asmallorange.com/). I've been using them for well over a year to run my WordPress blog (that I haven't updated since July :-?), my gaming news aggregator, and some old client sites, and have no regrets. You don't really get XBOX HUEG amount of bandwidth and disk space with their plans compared to others, but their uptime and support make up for it.

I use the Small plan, which is $5 a month or $50 a year if you pay for 12 months in one shot. Another cool thing is their new referral program. You can easily create coupon codes for others to use that shave off some money, like 'gmachinapwns' (15% off order) ;)

I use 1and1.com for various things and have never had any problems with their server uptime or performance.

I've used surpasshosting.com (http://www.surpasshosting.com) for the last 5-6 years and have had minimal issues. Right now it looks like they're doing a promotion where if you sign up for their basic plan (200GB storage, 2000GB bandwidth/mo), your first year is $1. It's normally $60/year for the basic plan.

A small orange is definitely intriguing, as is bluehost. It's between those two, really. Thanks for all of the help guys! Will be making the switch in about a month.

I use http://www.powweb.com/powweb/index.bml

I never have any problems with them and their capacity is quite good in my opinion. Also, with their referral program I could probably send you $20 paypal if you sign up through me. PM me if you're interested.

Edit: Actually, I'll give you $35 if you sign up through me.
