The chicken game confused the fuck out of me at first (and it was lagging a little on this laptop), but eventually I got it and ended up with all the prizes.

I got the suit and the expression book. The easiest way to do the Chicken game is aim for the beehive. You'll often hit the spears which are worth more then the horse.

Start the game/path slideshow thing and there should be a barrel at the bottom left. Mouse over and the middle option is the chicken game.

Well, this sucks. I keep winning the chicken game but everytime I try and get the gold, the page comes up blank with just a poster looking thing on the wall with no writing on it.

Try opening another tab with xbox.com...sign on to your profile, keep that tab active, go to the Fable II game, when you finish, it should note that you're logged on to your profile and it should just come up with a page that says, you're prize will be available as soon as you start your Fable II adventure...or something to that effect.

Hard to say...I got greeted by a confirmation page. Did you try it in FireFox and IE?

Was doing it in firefox so I'll give it a go in IE. I think it was the confirm page, but basically there was no writing or anything to indicate that it was.

I dunno, I saw it on Youtube. Quality wasn't super high (as expected), but you could definitely enjoy the scenery and whatnot.

Since they took the collectables out of the collectors edition, it will probably be pretty common. It might not be "halo cat helmet" common, but it should be fairly easy to find after release.

Well overall this games till got pretty close to the 9.0 mark from Gamespot/IGN. Just shy of the 9.0 mark.

My only disappointment from all the reviews is the game is still too short. Otherwise it seems like so many things were improved over the first and I loved the first despite all the hype.

The real ball buster is choosing between this and Fallout 3. I can't have both, but I'll probably go with Fable just because of the co-op.

So random. I went to my Hollywood video to return a movie which has a Gamecrazy next door. There were like 5 people waiting in line for Fable II and it was 8 PM.

Two things are wrong here.

1. It's Fable II. It won't sell out and if you want it that bad, just go to Wal-Mart at 12 AM instead of waiting around.
2. It's 8 PM and you're waiting in line for Fable II.

I plan on picking either this up or Far Cry 2 or Spiderman Web of Shadows but still, this game doesn't strike me as a "must wait ouside in line for" type of game.

God I'm excited. The various gaming podcasts have been positive. I'm avoiding reading reviews, but I'm seeing high 8s low 9s which is what I expected. I feel like if you didn't buy into Peter's hype and had realistic expectations, you shouldn't be disappointed. Right now I'm finishing off a second patron in Pub Games. I want one rich (1+ mil in gold), one well off (250k) and any character after that will be starting poor.

I can confirm this! My cousin and I both got our Fable 2 LEs at midnight. Originally I thought the bonus content was on the bonus disc but there are only videos on it so I assumed it was already on the game. When I told my cousin this he said he got a code and sent me a picture of it because he didn't believe me when I said I didn't get it. Now I just read the link and asked my cousin if his case had an orange trial sticker. His does and mine doesn't. I'm so pissed. I was already mad that they cut out everything I wanted in the original LE but figured the extra content would be worth the extra $10. Now I don't even have that! Basically I paid the extra $10 got the normal edition content. Fucking bullshit!

So far the game is pretty good, but I got off to check to see if anyone else didn't get the bonus content. Guess I wasn't or won't be the only one. They better fix this!

And what pisses me off is I think the guy at Gamestop knew about it. When I walked in to pay I heard some customer say something like "What if the code isn't in the case?", but I didn't know what he was talking about until now. My Fable II/Gamestop story.

I went there about 15 minutes ago. I was talking to one of the part-timers as he is ringing me up. I ask him how many of the ones do they guess don't have the codes. He said they got 13 without the code and 7 with the code. I asked him how he knew and he said the store manager (who is a great guy, helps me out all the time) opened them all so they would know which ones were which and be able to give people a heads up.

I was a little pissed off by this I mean, I paid for an unopened game, but whatever. He said they only had 10 of them left and they were all the codeless ones. That sucks definitely, and I was going to cancel right then and there when the manager comes out. He seen me and walks into the back room real quick and brings out a Fable II LE. Had my name on a sticky-note on it. Apparently he had hid one of the games with a code in the back for me. Also, that pissed off the part-timer because he got stuck with one without the code. He was a little pissed.

I also ended up picking up the Special Edition Fable II Strategy Guide. I will never use it, but I got 20% off on the guide and $10 back from my pre-order so what the hell. Cost me like $15 after that. Has a nice slipcover and pretty cool art-book.

UPDATE: Did anyone else notice that the downloadable content was only 108KB? That shit is already on the disc and this is just an unlock key. NOW, I'm pissed. I DEFINITELY should have gotten the regular edition. Damn it. They will be releasing this content over the next few months easily. Probably charge 200-800 MS points depending upon how they bundle them.

Sounds like Fable 1 to me, which I did enjoy, since I don't have the time to play 50+ hr RPGs.

It's just a "necessary evil" in this modern gaming world. Would you prefer to walk into textureless block caverns that have big "BUY THE LE TO SEE THIS PLACE CORRECTLY!" marks all over them? Or be unable to walk into caves with friends, due to a need to Download? I don't hate the idea of Unlock keys in an of themself. I just don't like the method they're used in all the time.

They are going to be charging 400 MS points for a Vader unlock for Soul Calibur IV. Vader is on the disc and they are charging us for it. -nod- I don't mind paying for something "already in my possession" if it's worth it, though. I think Namco Holding back Vader to just make him a paid unlock later is stupid. I wouldn't mind paying for a completely new, unexplored, unrevealed character that was unlocked in this way THAT much. But the fact that Vader and Yoda have already been played and dissected by SC fans for months now... It makes all this long holding back just seem extremely weak. Or Vader could have been extremely cheap (80 points) and a REAL new character could have been the 400 pt DLC.

I hope the LE stuff stays exclusive, with the dungeon always accessable if you play with a gamer that owns the LE. If this games gets DLC, I hope it's all fresh, new stuff. As you can tell, I don't like "waiting" for DLC only for all the wait time turning out to be for things that have already been available for ages.

Reading about the length of the game, the lack of epic enemies you'd find in other Fantasy/RPG games and the silly Expressions system has made me pass on this game.

There should be a card with a code to redeem a dungeon and spartan armor and plasma sword for your hero. It has been noted that if the game case you receive doesn't have a 48hrs XBOX Live Trial sticker, it may not have the DLC code.

The functions of orbs? Just so you can see where your friends are in the game. Check their stats. Also invite them to join you quickly. I actually think it's pretty neat idea.

Seems like a really cool game so far. I'm about an hour in and have advanced into the "main" part of the game (won't talk about spoilers).

Beautiful environments and great voice acting / music. Controlling the camera is a little bit of a pain sometimes, but overall seems like this should be a very enjoyable game.

Does the game same laggy or glitchy to anyone?

Specifically:
After you return to Bowerstone as a young adult, and you start the blacksmith job hammering. The white dot kinda glitches and doesn't move smoothly sometimes. Also when you're supposed to hold the trigger to look at the evil tower in the distance, most of the town isn't rendered, so you see a tiny bottom part of the tower in a sea of blue (the background) with no town surrounding it.

Start a game and advance to the young adult part. Then save and load pub games. Then overwrite the file you used to acquire items with your Fable 2 character. Easy as that.

As for the items, you get those at the end of your first "quest". Atleast the online ones.

Ok I picked the game up this evening and had a question for you guys. After playing for about 10 minutes or so of the prologue portion, the overall haze and motion blur started to make my eyes hurt. Does this continue through out the game or is it something that is just present in the prologue.

It feels like something from back when GTA III first came out and they had a motion blur trailer on the game, but at least they gave the option to turn it off. No such option here.

And it seems that the texture popping is effecting this game as well as far as my system goes.

Fable 2 is pretty good, I've played it for a few hours today. I think I like the first Fable better (one of my favorite games), but that might change after I play this more. I'm not disappointed that I bought it, but I am a bit befuddled that they spent 4 years making this game, and the story still isn't grabbing my attention, and some of the same problems from the old Xbox game are still present. If I had to give it a score so far, I would say an 8.5 sounds right.

Does not compute. Its more on how you try to rate the game on only a couple hours played. Its like playing any RPG for 1 hour and saying 5.0! Not trying to attack you :)




Im loving this game. Its like Fable 1 mixed with oblivion and more. Huge open areas to explore and finding secrets and the whole reputation system has been advanced some. Alittle bugs here and there but nothing bad. Being able to buy shops and get income/handle them is SO AWESOME. Im sticking to a good path for my first play through as a Magic/Gunner, Then my second will be pure evil as a Melee/Magic from hell. I will marry every whore in sight and bang many a women.

Unprotected sex all the way as evil, Kids you say!??? Ill just shoot them. Buy up every shop/house/you name it and raise the prices through the roof to put all of Albion into poverty. Good times are ahead.

I think it's hard to find stuff in Fable II. Even on the Map they give you in the menus, it's generic as hell. A bit more detail would be nice. I think the idea of the golden trail is a good idea, but a horrible conception, as a lot of the time, it has disappeared and I'm lost for a few seconds every time.

I'm enjoying the game, but the story seems a bit disjointed. And it's way too hard to be corrupted. A 1-star carrot takes my purity away. WHAT IS THAT!?

Finished a local co-op session with my friend. The camera gets a bit difficult to control at times, but overall, both of us had a good time. It's pretty cool the amount stuff you can do and different ways to approach things...about as close to an MMO-type of experience as a non-MMORPG can get, I imagine.

The world is smaller. The content is smaller (dungeons), but they're better detailed. You can't get quite as lost as Oblivion, but you can still get pretty lost.

Yeah, I don't do things twice. If I play through a game, or read a book, I normally don't go back. Not even with Mass Effect. But, i probably will this this game.

First time through, I'm not getting married or having kids. Just me and my pooch. Second time, i'll probably do the family thing. Then another time through where I'll be straight up evil. he he.



So, any word on reprecussions for using the glitch in pub games? I didn't, but that would be lame if they kind of made people think they'd be in trouble when it was all b.s.

I don't think anything bad happens if you used the glitch in pub games. I was able to merge my characters seamlessly but I sometimes hear people in the game say something like "I wonder where he got all that money."
