I managed to beat Aria of Sorrow last night. Great Castlevania game.

I also started up a team on Etrian Odyessy and delved into the first level of the dungeon. It reminds me of all the hours I used to play on games like Eye of the Beholder and Wizardry and other such games. Anyone thats played it got any advice on a starting team? Right now I'm usuing a Protector, a Landsknect, a Dark Hunter, a Medic, and an Alchemist.

Finished up the first case in Phoenix Wright as well. Great story so far.

The Phil Harrison news is big. never saw that coming.I said it before, I actually did see it coming, but then again, I follow PS news daily. I mean before E3 2007, I'd see new interviews of him, or talk about him making an appearance at some show, and so on. Since E3 2007, I stopped hearing from him. I heard from Scott S, Peter Dille, Kaz, Jack, and many others (just not Phil). I thought I'd hear from Phil around the time several games came out around the Fall, and didn't hear from him. By the end of last year, I started to question whether Phil even still worked for Sony. I do read PS3 Fanboy and the PS3 Forums daily. I seriously don't see how some are so shocked over this (probably because it's Sony and everyone loves to hate on Sony).

Oh well, they'll move on. I don't have an issue with Kaz taking his position for now (since he headed SCEA, like Phil headed SCEE for a bit in game development).

Last night I cracked open Ace Combat 6 and I really enjoyed the first handful of missions. The online multiplayer was hectic, but outrunning missiles and such was pretty fun I will say.

Seems like a lateral move for that position at best.The only thing he really said was that the 20/60GB was going away and many people assumed the PS3 would be $600 only again when the 80GB took over the 60GB place. In reality, that didn't really happen for long since the 80GB dropped once most 60GB consoles were cleared out (and they released a cheaper 40GB). He just wasn't going to say there was going to be an 80GB price drop anyway (with a game) because then it may have been harder to sell the 60GB (because they wanted to ditch it first due to costing $840 to produce, compared to the 80GB costing $100-$300 less to produce). Yeah there was the E3 2006 crap (IMO, old news to me), but that was a while ago.

Like I said, I started to expect the move to happen (Phil leaving) because I just stopped seeing new interviews of him at PS3 Fanboy and other big PS3 site forums. In the past, I use to hear from him weekly. I heard from Eric Lempel, Jack, Kaz, etc. a lot. I was starting to wonder if he was just pulling a Patrick Seybold (one who posted many of the PS Blog stories), where he was around a lot, then gone for a while, then appeared again. Now if Eric Lempel (The Direction of PlayStation Network operations) left, then I'd be quite surprised (He's one I hear from a lot).

But oh well, I may play a game a little later today. I might finally open Lost Odyssey, if my lab goes well tonight.

I think it's fun to play and requires a little bit of thought as well, a good XBLA title and there's quite a lot of gameplay for your 800 points. I'd reccomend trying the demo at some point.

I got that achievement going through 14.4 too. It didn't make my frustration go away. I was pretty satisfied when I beat it though. Maybe we can try the multiplayer sometime, I haven't gotten into it yet.

N+ just felt like my kind of game and had a lot of content packed in, so I pulled the trigger. I like puzzle-ish kind of games and the prospect of 400 levels + user created levels later on was pretty attractive. Try out the demo at least for sure.

Ace Combat 6 is beautiful. How good are the online players?

I only played through one game, but I didn't finish last, so while there were people at the top playing great, there were enough middle of the road folks for me to not get discouraged.

I guess I'll have a better concept of it after I delve in a little deeper. It is definitely a good looking game on the 42" plasma 1080 though.

Pathetically easy like most Kirby games, but this ones lets you mix and match every power which is awesome. For example, mix electricity and ice, and kirby turns into a fridge. Mix cutter and fire and kirby wields a giant fire sword. Stuff like that.

If you can find one at GS, it's $17.99 used. Mush better than ebay.FOEs are the hellaciously tough enemies found on just about every floor. Usually about 5 levels above the rest of the enemies on the floor. But whereas regular enemies are random encounters, FOEs are big orange spots on the map. Or red if they see you and start chasing you. They're scary as hell early on but once you grind a bit or tackle the first FOE on a floor, you'll be alright. Until they start having multiple kinds of FOEs on one floor, so you think you can take it fine, and you find out it's something even harder. :hot: And to relate to that video, once you beat a FOE, it's gone for 3 days.

In summary, game is like crack. I don't think I'm even halfway done with it after some 30 hours. But the sequel is out in Japan, so I will await it's domestic release.

The Burger King closest to my friend's dad's house is horrid. Everyone there is under 18, and they hate their lives, so that shows itself in the barely room temperature food that they serve. I don't mind McDonalds. It's cheap and decent. Wendy's is better. KFC is good, but Popeye's is better. And I like Taco Bell. I tend to prefer local places in general though. I'mma go have some $1 beef Chicago style hot dogs in a second. So good. Then some bowling and DMC4, maybe some VF5 online too.

I read about The Witcher Expanded Edition. It's going to come with a bunch of extras, like cloth maps and soundtracks and shit. So people like me who bought the game in the first place just have to download a big ass patch, but we don't get any of the cool goodies. That's their way of saying "Thanks for supporting us in the first place, now go buy it again if you want the shit that a fan like you would be interested in." Oh well, it will probably be $12 at Target sometime. ;)

As for food, I really love KFC. I really like Popcorn chicken, but it's expensive ($6.35 for a combo), so I usually just get it when my Dad offers to buy me some. I loved Burger King but stopped going for a while due to none being nearby my old apartment and dorm room (now I live down the street from BK).

Vegas 2, Brawl, Crisis Core, Patapon, Lost Odyssey, DMC4 360 regular edition, and Apollo Justice are on my list for those two months. I might wait on Apollo Justice until I actually finish PW3, since deals tend to happen pretty quick on that series. Also Vegas 2 will wait until August when I have broadband again. Speaking of Prof. Layton, I finally cracked that open last night and it was all I played. My impression is that it's pretty fun overall, although the puzzles can be random in difficulty at times. I just started, but I'm still not sure what I'm playing for in terms of the scoring system. Anyways, with great animation and an interesting old school anime-art style, it's different yet quality stuff from Level 5.

And when a person would quit the game before it was over, another person just looking for a quick match would be instantly entered in that last persons spot/or a computer would take over.

The color and character figured gives the impression kratos has just murdered a Darth Vader PSP and used Vader's Innards to create a cool new PSP color.

I like that it comes with God of War, some Syphon Filter download, and Superbad for $200. Not bad at all. I might actually get another one, especially since it comes out around by birthday.

My HDMI cable came in from monoprice, so now I can hook up the new Onkyo 605 I picked up to replace my ancient Sony DE915. It actually works ok, but teh Onkyo was $300 shipped from Amazon and I couldn't resist finally upgrading to an A/V receiver from the 21st century. I still have crap speakers, but at least now I can clean up the cables hanging all over my TV and use the advanced switching features in the Onkyo instead. It's nice to have HD audio support as well.

Can't wait to test the game rigs on this setup.

Yep. I have the same Onkyo. I haven't tried out the upconversion yet, though. . .

The receiver is badass as far as sound goes. Dolby True HD and PCM 5.1 is awesome. Go play Uncharted in PCM 5.1, gunm.

Yeah, sending everything through HDMI is nice. The 605 is pretty easy to use thanks to the relatively simple remote... the 705 on the other hand, is ridiculously complicated. Like, I set up a HT for my parents using the 705, and I never use it, so I tried using it like a week ago and I was like "holy shit, lookit dem buttons." It was ridiculous. 605 and 705 are pretty comparable in sound quality -- they're both great.

Anyway, I'm feelin' good after finishing two major tests so I'm thinkin' I'll hit dat Losy Odyssey up again. I wrote a review for the game, but the man in charge hasn't put it up on the site yet, which is suspicious... but that's fine... what's important is that ya'll should buy it, regardless of whether or not you like RPGs.

Use Devil Bringer to get him close to you and use buster when he does.

Let him attack first then if he counters you, then you counter him, and if he counters you, then you counter back. The first time I played him in DH I had a lot of trouble with him until I figured out a way that best suited me to fight him. I did a lot of Buster, DB, Aerial attacks, Counter attacks, and DT on him.

So today I played The Fast and The Furious at the arcade and I gotta say it was AWESOME

I wasn't expecting much, but when I went off a ramp and the car flipped 10 times and landed perfectly, it was obvious just how awesome of a game it was. Not to mention the car flying in the air and start flipping just from doing a wheelie and driving sideways on two wheels while passing just about all the other cars :lol:

Too bad the PS2 game is nothing like it :cry:

I was just reading that Capcom is remaking Resident Evil Zero for the Wii. I hope they add a damn item box, cause dropping crap all over the ground and having to go back to it whenever you needed something kinda sucked.

I wonder if they will do the RE 1 Cube REmake and call it RE-Wii-REmake.

REmake and Zero did have some great graphics, but I wonder if they will enhance them any.

Kane & Lynch is both mediocre and frustrating at times. I'm considering dropping the difficulty down to easy just to blow through it and get rid of it. The "cover" detection and the aiming on the game are both terrible. Gerstman should have only gotten fired if he had liked the game, that would have been the true abomination.

The throwing mechanic is kinda cool once you get the hang of it, but the stages, the music, the enemies... it's all kinda generic. It's maybe worth playing if you've got absolutely nothing else to do with your day, but I don't think it's worth picking up, honestly. I don't think the inclusion of HD will matter, either.

Seems that alot of people want RE4 controls for RE0, but I seriously doubt thats gonna happen. I don't mind the old RE-style pre-RE4 controls, myself. Once you get used to it, its not so bad. I kind of hope that if RE0 sells well, then they will Wii-release REmake, since I enjoyed that one even more than RE0.

Meh. Its the same price for the 80gb Motorstorm bundle, and that comes with the sixaxis. Personally, I don't forsee Sony doing a price drop on the PS3 at least until closer to the holidays. Their sales have been doing alot better these last few months, and with more AAA games hitting the market, I think the PS3 will still be able to command a $500 price tag.

I hated RE0, I have all the main RE's (not counting Gaiden or Outbreak ect) and I didn't like RE0 at all so I sold it. Not excited for this at all but if they re-made RE1-CVX that would be enough for me to get a Wii sooner rather then later. I think $400 is too expensive and just because I'd be getting a deal on the controller and game combined, doesn't make it an attractive deal for me.
