Stopped into Best Buy today...they had a Hot Shots Golf Fore Demo Disc and I was all happy until I saw the price....$5. What is up with that? They should be giving them away.

Someone in another thread pointed out that if it says "Not For Resale", they can't be selling it.

I know that when they were doing the MK:DA giveaway with Psi-Ops, they were charging like $0.01 for it, just for inventory purposes, but they shouldn't charge you for it.

Point out to them that it's Not For Resale and see what they do.

I love when they try to sell those demo's. I wonder what they would do if you pointed out it said NFR. Probably just give you a free copy and continue to try to get money out of the poor suckers willing to pay.

Damn them for trying to make money.....

I would assume (dangerous as that is) that the $5 goes towards a preorder for the game. They also have the new Sly Cooper demo for $5.

Not directly related to topic, but important info for people who plan on purchasing this game to play it online:

Sony might, might be charging a monthly fee for this game to play online. They are already doing it in Japan, and are considering it here as well. It is a relatively small fee (something to the tune of $6 a month). But doesn't it seem ridiculous that the company who owns the rights and controls the networking of of the most popular online console game, SOCOM, and doesn't charge anything for it's online play would consider it for this game? I dunno. Maybe there are more Hot Shots fans out there than I think there are.

they might just be putting 5 dollars because they want you to pre order it for 5.00 and get the demo disc with it.

It isn't so much the $5 that aggravates me it is the idea that does. EVEN if it goes towards a pre-order it makes no sense. The whole point of a demo is to try the game out to see if you like it enough to buy it. Not to play it before it comes out.

Hot Shots Golf 3 was a great game and is a Greatest Hits title so I would think there are a decent amount of fans for the game.

I also got the demo from best buy. However, I just walked out of the store with it, without ringing it up with a cashier. No alarms went off, so I guess it was okay.

Hmm, I actually need to go back and pick up another one, for my dad...

I did and there manager pulled it and put them in the back, and they won't give them out either.
