This thread is for Tekken night and setting up CAG matches for Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, GGPO, and other fighting games, NOT for people to spam the thread members with requests for Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection or any other PSN games. Please refrain from harassing the CAGs in this thread with those requests. If you want Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, get a job or go to the game trading thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174965

The next Tekken night is going to be on Saturday 7/19 at around 9 p.m. PST. We sometimes get started as early as 8 p.m. PST, but the room should definitely be up and running by the time 9 rolls around. I've changed the night to Saturday at the request of CAGs. This should make for more consistent showings from other CAGs. I may not always be available on Saturday evenings, but I will post in this thread usually the day before to let everybody know if I can't make it. In the event that I'm not available, any of the regulars feel free to start the room and send out invites.

The room settings are standard with first to 3 rounds to win (best of five), 60 second rounds, the room will be named "CAG" so non-regulars can find the room, and mics off to help with lag. The room alternates from ranked to unranked week to week. I don't prefer one to the other, so we can go always ranked or always unranked depending on what you guys like.

To make sure the lag is kept to a minimum obviously don't be downloading or uploading anything, please turn off the media server connection on your PS3 while playing, a wired connection is preferred to a wireless connection but not necessary, and most importantly make sure your PS3's NAT type is 1 or 2. To do this follow the instructions from Markman's webpage http://sdtekken.com/t5dr/online/setup-guide/ or use the step-by-step tutorial with pictures I made below:

Setting your PS3 to a static IP
1. On your PC click Start>Run
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_01.jpg
2. Type in "cmd" and click "OK"
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_02.jpg
3. At the prompt type in "ipconfig /all" (Note the space between "ipconfig" and "/all")
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_03.jpg
4. Write down the
-"IP Address"
-"Subnet Mask"
-"Default Gateway"
-"DNS Servers" (there should be three sets of numbers, but you only need to know two).
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_04.jpg
Once you have it done, you can close the command prompt.
5. On your PS3 go to Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Settings and click on "Yes" at the prompt.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_08.jpg
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_09.jpg
6. Select "Custom" and choose whether you're on a wired or wireless connection.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_10.jpg
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_11.jpg
7. Select "Manual Settings" and choose "Auto-Detect" at the Speed and Duplex menu.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_12.jpg
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_13.jpg
8. Choose "Manual" at the IP Address Setting screen.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_14.jpg
9. For "IP" Address" input the first three numbers listed in the "IP Address" you wrote down from the command prompt, and fill in the last number with whatever 100 or larger number you want your PS3's static IP to be. Just be sure that the number isn't the IP address of anything else on your network (i.e. PCs). For example, mine is 192.168.1.104 It should be noted that the third number varies from router to router so it could be something like 192.168.0.104. Whatever you set it as, this will be your PS3's new static IP Address. Fill in the "Subnet Mask" with the "Subnet Mask" you wrote down from the command prompt. Fill in "Default Router" with the "Default Gateway" you wrote down. Fill in "Primary DNS" and "Secondary DNS" each with a different set of numbers you wrote down from "DNS Servers" and click right
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_15.jpg
10. Set the MTU to "Automatic.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_16.jpg
11. Select "Do Not Use" for the Proxy Server menu.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_17.jpg
12. Select whichever you want for the UnPnP menu.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_18.jpg
13. At the next screen with all of your new settings, press "X" to save your settings and then test your new connection. It shouldn't be NAT Type 2 yet at this point because you haven't port forwarded your PS3 or set it as the DMZ on your network.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_19.jpg
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_20.jpg

Port Forwarding Your PS3
1. Access your router by opening a web browser and typing the "Default Gateway" from before into your address bar.
(The next steps will vary from router to router. I suggest going to http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm or your router's user manual to see how you do it for your particular router)
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_05.jpg
2. Go into the Port Forward menu and forward the following ports
-80 (TCP)
-10070-10080 (TCP & UDP)
-6000-7000 (UDP)
-3658 (UDP)
For each of these forwarded port ranges, set the IP address for each one to your PS3's new static IP address. If your router has the option, make sure all of these ranges are "Enabled"
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_06.jpg
3. Once finished, save these settings on your router.
4. Go to your PS3 and go to Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Test
5. Now test your connection to see if your PS3 is port forwarded correctly. If it is, then your NAT Type should be NAT Type: 2. If it fails, set your PS3 as the network's DMZ as follows.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_21.jpg

Setting Your PS3 as the Network's DMZ (Optional)
This step is only needed if you cannot get your PS3's NAT Type to Type 2 by just port forwarding the proper ports
2. Go into the DMZ menu (it may be a submenu of the port forward menu or other menu)
3. Enable the DMZ and set the "DMZ Host IP Address" as the PS3's new static IP address.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_07.jpg
4. Save the settings on your router.
5. Go to your PS3 and go to Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Test
6. Now test your connection to see if your PS3 is port forwarded correctly. If it is, then your NAT Type should be Nat Type: 2.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f296/notorious_pip/NAT2_21.jpg

I can also help you out if you're having problems. If you're NAT type 3, the room may automatically kick you out, and rooms you make may not be accessible to others. It's not the host that is kicking you out. You'll probably have problems entering the CAG room and most of the other rooms online until you switch from NAT type 3 to either NAT type 1 or 2. An alternative method would be to plug your PS3 directly into your modem bypassing all of this rigmarole which would set you to NAT type 1.

If anybody is interested let me know in this thread with your PSN name, or send me a friend add on the PSN (notorious_pip) with a message that you're from CAG interested in a Tekken night. Rooms max out at eight people, so first come, first serve, but I'll send an invite to everybody that's interested when the room is made and resend invites as people leave.

I'm always open to suggestions or casual matches. Feel free to leave suggestions here or hit me up for some matches if you see me online. I'll post in here whenever I go online to play Tekken in case anyone wants to play. I think it'd be a good idea for people to post in here when they go online also. That way you get to play with some decent folk rather than some of the lag abusers and rank whores online.

Here's a list of Tekken night regulars for host reference and CAGs to have a healthy list of people to play. If I have forgotten anyone or you wish to be added to the list, just let me know.

I actually tried a few Tekken nights and they didn't work out, but thanks for doing this.

I'll tell you what, I'll add this to the PSN Gaming Group Schedule (I'll try to help you make it more noticeable). Well, for some who have a maxed out buddy list, what you can do is enter any PSN name within a game and invite them to play (ulike CoD4).

Thanks for the help, TMK. My friends and I are going to be playing at this time regardless, so I thought I'd post on CAG to expand our group a bit and maybe turn it into a weekly CAG game night.

For those that are interested, one of my friends is having a decent Japanese player named Yuta staying at his place that'll be playing with us. It should be fun.

Sorry to derail, but is Tekken only available for purchase through the PSN?

notorious_pip
03-05-2008, 10:42 PM
Yes, it's only available through the PSN store for $20 for just the core game and $30 for the game, online, and survival and practice modes.

Cool, well, I already have ReRo on my buddy list. I hope the usual time isn't too late for you and other east coasters, but I'll send you an invite this week.

heavyd853 just post your PSN s/n in here or add me (notorious_pip) and I'll send you an invite on Sunday regardless.

I may have a hard time getting setup initially due to house sitting, but all should be good. no worries.

I think my connection is too slow for tekken, I'm always getting slow down.

notorious_pip
03-06-2008, 02:11 AM
Sometimes it might just be the connection with certain people due to distance or other circumstances. I can be in a room and have a great connection with one person and a horrible connection with another, and it remains consistent.

But Tekken DR isn't perfect with lag either, so you should almost always expect at least a 2-4 frames of lag even on the best connection.

Thomas96
03-06-2008, 12:38 PM
I did have some good matches when I first started playing. I gots to brush up on my Tekken this weekend.

Fighting games should have NO Lag... NO lag, lag is pure evil. I can't juggle when there's lag.

I used to have Tekken but now it says copyright error. I'm guessing I can no longer play since i got it from someone :(

notorious_pip
03-06-2008, 10:45 PM
That's the problem when you share games. You have to keep the account you used to download it from on your PS3 at all times. Once you delete that account, you lose the ability to play any games downloaded from that account. I suppose if you remember the account information you used to download the game, you could just put it back on your PS3, and it should play fine.

Sharp Katana
03-06-2008, 10:46 PM
i got it from my friend's friend and hes no longer giving out the downloads. So I guess it's safe to delete the game off my hdd now.

notorious_pip
03-06-2008, 11:30 PM
You don't have to re-download the game. You just need to have your friend's friend's account on your PS3. Each game is tied to a certain account. Once you delete the account you downloaded the game with, it invalidates the copy of the game you downloaded. You just need to make sure that your friend's friend's account is back on your PS3 and the game will start working again.

Just a reminder that we'll be playing around 9 p.m. PST or a bit earlier. If you're interested in playing this week, please post your PSN s/n on here or add me on the PSN with a note regarding CAG Tekken, so I can invite you to the room.

Sorry I couldn't play for long I had some guests over and they wanted to get some grub... I'm down next week again and I'll definitely make more time.

Good games to notorious_pip, the other guy I played, and GGs to Rolento going in and out of the room... :(

Rolento has joined the room.
Rolento has exited the room.

:(

Next time!

Just make sure you have a NAT2 and you have the required ports open. If that still doesn't work set the DMZ to point to your PS3's IP.

O yea.... I hate playing when it's laggy too :(

I'm sure everyone would have performed better had there been less lag... where are you guys located btw? I'm in Southern California.

notorious_pip
03-10-2008, 02:13 AM
Yeah, that was me that reminded you, Markman. GG to you too. Your Chreddie is beastly.

Yeah, it was pretty laggy, but it saved me from getting launched from some of my unsafe stuff. 8-) But lag owned me for a couple of the matches. I'm sure you could appreciate my Anna launches into nothing.

Well, EthyleneOxide and some of my other friends used to be a part of the Seattle scene with SLA and company, but now we're all over the place. I'm in the Reno/Sparks, NV area, EthyleneOxide is still in western Washington, and CheezyE is in Chicago but will be moving back to SoCal pretty soon. It must have just been one of those nights. I usually have a really good connection with people in California.

MarkMan
03-10-2008, 02:17 AM
O! SLA, I haven't seen him in forever, since Tekken 4 days... if you talk to him let him know MarkMan sends his regards...

I played a few of the Seattle players awhile back in a DR tourney... did any of you guys go to the T5 regional tournament in Northern California? I remember some Reno players there...

Stop by San Diego when you guys move down to SOCAL, there's always ppl playing here... Plus I prefer playing offline anyways...

No worries about the lag, I was doing budget ass combos too... :(

notorious_pip
03-10-2008, 02:19 AM
I'm up for holding two Tekken nights a week, but if it's during the regular week I'd have to start them probably an hour later.

But I'll be up for a few more hours if anyone wants to have a few matches. Just let me know in the thread, and I'll make a new room, or you can make a room and send an invite.

notorious_pip
03-10-2008, 02:25 AM
Yeah, I haven't talked to Ric in forever. I don't really know what he's up to these days, but I'll let him know you send your regards through mutual friends.

Did you guys come up to the Seattle regionals for T4? Haha, I remember there were a bunch of Cali players the came up and jacked all our spots. Haha, for some reason WeaponX (Charlie) ended up sleeping at my house while he was up there.

Yeah, there's somewhat of a fighting game scene here in Reno, but it's mainly Guilty Gear, and I never quite got into that series. Some of them played T5 for fun when that came out, though.

Well, CheezyE is the one that's moving back to California. He's moving to the Irvine area, though. I might be down in San Diego in May visiting some family and definitely down there for the Comic Con this year, so I'll try to hit you up.

What kind of connection do you guys have?

upload/download/ping etc ?

Check at:

www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net)
www.dslreports.com (http://www.dslreports.com)

I'm usually around 17,000 kbps down/560 up/43 ms ping...

Going through a router(like I am) obviously makes your ping worse...

Make sure you're not using WiFi either... cuz a combination of the PS3's shitty WiFi + WiFi being sketchy in general = sad face...

notorious_pip

My connection has always been steady at ~5000 kb download, ~500 kb upload, and ~50 ms ping, but I'm of course going wired to keep the connection more stable for games.

I would be down for some DRO tournaments. So what are you thinking? Double elimination, best of 5 until semis then best of 7 from there on out?

I'll make it a point to. I played some kids at my school a day ago after finding out that kids sneak on my campus once a week to play Smash or Tekken... I realized then how much I missed playing real people. Note: I schooled them all. I smiled :)

I'm reminding everyone that Tekken night is still going on tonight at 9 p.m. PST. I've sent out reminder PSN messages to everyone as well. I hoping for a decent turnout tonight.

I'll drop you an e-mail when the room goes up like last time, Markman. Some of the matches we had were pretty close. ;p

It'll be good to see you actually in the room this time, Rolento instead of popping in and out. Eh, with Dragunov you just need the staples: d/f+2_ws+2_qcb+2 into 2,1,3, d+4,1,3; u/f+4 into d+4,4, d+4,1,3; and qcf+2 into u/f+4, d+4,4, d+4,1,3. I usually replace the d+4,4 with a d+4,1 in juggles if I think I'm slightly off axis or launched them from too far away, because Dragunov's juggles are finicky that way.

I sent you a friend add, hankmecrankme. Just let me know when you want to get in on the Tekken nights, and I'll send you an invite.

notorious_pip

aihuman, Tekken DRO has network issues, so usually anything less than NAT2 will just get you automatically kicked from a room. At best you'll be in a room and play laggy games. It's not too difficult to get to NAT2 on the PS3.

Just follow the tutorial on the first page to set your PS3 to a static IP. For simplicity set your PS3's IP address to 192.168.1.100. Everything else you'll just be using what comes up on the ipconfig screen.

The easiest way to change your PS3's NAT type to NAT2 is to just set your PS3 as the network's DMZ. I looked up your router and it seems like a standard Linksys router. For your particular router, follow the instructions below to set your PS3 as the network's DMZ.
1. Access your router by opening a web browser and typing "192.168.1.1" into your address bar. If no one has accessed the router before, then the username should be "admin" and the password should be either "admin" or "password"
2. Click on the tab labeled "Applications & Gaming"
3. From that tab, click the subtab labeled "DMZ"
4. On the DMZ menu select "Enable" and set the "DMZ Host IP Address" to "192.168.1.100" like we decided above.
5. Click "Save Settings" and exit your web browser.
6. Go to your PS3 and go to Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Test
7. Now test your connection to see if your PS3 is port forwarded correctly. If it is, then your NAT Type should be Nat Type: 2.

That should be it. Try it out and let me know how it goes. Let me know if you have any problems, aihuman. I hope to see you on next week.

Ah, that's too bad, Azumangaman. Well, like I said, I'm willing to changing the day and time for Tekken night if it will allow more CAGs to join in. I would just need alternate person to host the room and send me an invite in case I'm not available at that time. The current time is pretty much the only time I can consistently host Tekken night, but I understand it's pretty late for east coast CAGs. I may be able to host the room at 7 p.m. PST every once in a while, but it wouldn't be every week.

Just a reminder that Tekken night will be going down tomorrow night at 9 p.m. PST.

I'll switch it up to Saturday starting next week since it seems to work better for most CAGs, but I need an alternate host, since I won't be available every Saturday night. Anyone willing to step up and be the alternate host? I might be able to host more consistently but still not every week on Saturdays if we end up doing it earlier (i.e. starting at 5 or 6 p.m. PST/8 or 9 p.m. EST), but that will clash with the CAG COD4 night. We could always make it two Tekken nights a week as well, since my friends and I will be playing on Sunday at the usual time regardless of when Tekken night is. Someone else can be a Saturday host, and I'll continue to be Sunday host and try to come to the Saturday session when I can. Thoughts?

Anybody up for some games later tonight? I'll probably be up for some games in 45 minutes to an hour.

notorious_pip

You get used to all the different stances with Mokujin after a while. The hard part is remembering how he's different than the character he's mimicking.

The netcode used in DRO is pretty bad, but I just deal with it and accept it's not going to be like offline. I still play like it's offline, though to keep my offline game consistent. That's why I have a lot of whiffed juggles and some attacks that are supposed to punish but don't online.

I think you'd do a lot better if your defense was better like you said in your message and if you learned a couple of bread and butter juggles for your characters to maximize damage.

notorious_pip

I do know a decent amount of juggles. The problem is the lag, plus you're squirrely.;) My defense does suck though. I've been playikng too much VF5, and I usually sidestep in that game., which isn't as effective in T5DR. I just need to block and quit trying to stick moves in when they'll just get snuffed.

I'll definitely be back, after I practice for a week. :)

notorious_pip
03-30-2008, 05:16 AM
Well, I'm just talking about the standard juggles used for each character. Stuff you'd use in a tournament or would see in match vids.

Sidestepping and sidewalking are effective in Tekken. You just need to anticipate specific moves when you sidestep/sidewalk, because certain moves may track to both sides, track to only one side, or not track at all. It's something you have to learn through playing. Usually 1 jabs you can sidestep to your right to avoid them. I try to generalize which way to sidestep each character depending on their most used moves like Lili you're mostly safe if you sidestep to your right. You should also learn when to duck not just to block but anticipating moves and punishing them. Yeah, I noticed you tried to attack quite a bit while you were at frame disadvantage. If you're going to do that, you need to know your opponent's options from that situation and anticipate which one your opponent is going to use and counter it accordingly with what you're throwing out.

If you want to just have some practice matches during the week, let me know. If you want some pointers while playing we can play with mics on, or if you don't have PS3 mic, we can open up a chat on Xbox Live while playing DRO.

I'll be in on this for sure this weekend. new ps3 tomorrow, wheee!

My connection is 5mb, so the lag is minimal for me :)

That'll be sweet to have another person playing regularly. Lag happens to everyone, though. It's due to Tekken's netcode rather than anyone's connection, so when you have a solid connection with anybody remember who they are.

Ahhh, rats. I'm too far West to participate. I don't usually get on until 9pm HST which I guess is like 11pm PST?

Well, I'm hoping that with Tekken night now on Saturday the room will last longer. I'm thinking of maybe switching it to mics disabled for the nights I can't stay long. That way, when I leave, host responsibilities just get switched over to someone else in the room instead of the room disbanding.

Thomas96
04-01-2008, 03:48 AM
Will this net code every see a patch? I can't even juggle people with this lag, I need to keep playing and try to get used to it.

notorious_pip
04-01-2008, 05:56 AM
I don't know when or if Namco will create an online patch for the netcode. I played a couple matches with that new patch on the Japanese version of DRO, but it didn't seem like anything had changed connection wise. The odd thing is, I've always had a better connection playing on the Japanese version than the US version.

Although the netcode is bad, the game is far from unplayable online. You just need to play the right people. I can still play relatively well including juggling as long as both sides have consistent two bars (yellow) or three bars (green). It becomes unplayable when the connection is both one bar (red), no bars (black), or fluctuating bars. The easiest thing to do is to just play people in your region and only play in rooms with full green bars. Anybody you have a good connection with, send them friend requests and ignore the people you have poor connections with.

Might be playing Tekken 6 ;P

Don't you live about two hours out from that arcade that has it?

RelentlessRolento
04-05-2008, 05:06 PM
yeah he does, but what's stopping MM?

notorious_pip
04-05-2008, 08:44 PM
I just wanted everybody to know that I made the room and sent out invites. My start button is set to autofire so matches should start without me being there. I left X off of autofire because it just continually accesses my stats with it on, so you might have to wait it out when it comes to the character/stage select screen when it's my turn. Hopefully I'll be back in time for some matches, but if not you guys all have fun.

RelentlessRolento
04-05-2008, 10:49 PM
I may be late cuz my dad wanted to see The Warriors with me tonight since I recommended it. If you see me on but not on Tekken, it's because I'm playing Eye of Judgment.

notorious_pip
04-06-2008, 05:35 AM
Well, I hope whoever came on had fun. I got back way too late to catch anyone.

hankmecrankme
04-06-2008, 07:15 AM
I wasn't in this weekend, and I won't be until next weekend. I'm staying at a friend's house, and neither one of us has a PS3 here.

04-06-2008, 05:53 PM
I just realized it was on saturday at 9pm pst. I doubt I'll ever make that time...

If anyone wants to play other times, like on weekday/sunday nights, add me to your list.

notorious_pip
04-06-2008, 08:15 PM
Saturday actually isn't the greatest time for me either, and I run the room. I switched the day because so many CAGs are on the east coast and 9 p.m. PST was too late for most CAGs. I still play on Sundays at 9 p.m. PST with some old college friends of mine if you want to join in and I play random matches during the week in the evenings. I'll send you a PSN friend add.

RelentlessRolento
04-06-2008, 09:33 PM
I'll try and be on tonight. I may have to be doing some taxes stuff as well as finalize a film script.

notorious_pip
04-06-2008, 09:36 PM
Cool, have fun with those taxes. I like to file in February online. I got my tax return in about a week.

RelentlessRolento
04-06-2008, 10:38 PM
I got my taxes done not too long ago now... I just need to get into the mood for the script now >_< we'll see how that goes.

here's a semi-done animation from the film I'm working on this script for (that's me running >_<)

everything. That's mainly why I've been missing a few of the tekken nights.

notorious_pip

Ah, that makes sense. Well, good luck with that script. I hope it turns out well for you.

RelentlessRolento
04-06-2008, 11:47 PM
I may just do the script later tonight... a few Tekken games may loosen me up anyway. If I only play for a short period, blame this film stuff :(

notorious_pip
04-07-2008, 12:18 AM
Yeah, I'd be down for that. I have to finish up a little work first, but I should be free in about a half an hour.

RelentlessRolento
04-07-2008, 12:35 AM
I got my script done (thanks to beer... no no, I don't like being drunk, it just loosens me up a tiny bit) so I may be on. I still have to see if other work needs to be done, but if I'm on, I'm on.

notorious_pip
04-07-2008, 12:38 AM
I totally feel you on the beer/alcohol. It takes the edge off so you can get to work sometimes.

I'm ready to go whenever. I just finished my work.

yeah it was the same with me.. I had been playing Tekken all day with no lag.

Give me a min, someone is torrenting on my line. I just need to boot their torrent program off and I'm good.

Last time I played with notorious_pip, I had a torrent running on my PC that I forgot about. I was like, "WTF's with the lag?" I fixed it after about 3 matches.

I'm going to be in this shit next weekend, fo' realz this time. I need a good beatdown anyway. . .

notorious_pip
04-08-2008, 12:33 AM
Yeah, any form of downloading is a big :shame: while playing Tekken. It turns a potentially laggy match into a truly :wall: experience. The alternative is to download but use your router's QoS to set your PS3 at highest priority and throttle either whatever is downloading on your network or throttle the ports that are used for downloading.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or asked, but I am wondering if I can use the TK5 ps2 arcade stick, with an adapter for this online game? This will determine whether I sell it to a local game shop or not (and whether I purchase the game on the psn).

MarkMan
04-11-2008, 07:32 PM
Yes you can.

There are a few that work well, I'd suggest to try and track down a Pelican converter for the best results.

Check my site here for more converter information:

www.sdtekken.com/tech-area/converters

notorious_pip
04-11-2008, 10:23 PM
The Pelican PS2>PS3 adapter is definitely the best one, but it has been out of production for a little while. If you're going to hunt one down, try to see if any of your local Gamestops or EBs have them new or used. You'll be paying an arm and a leg if you go on eBay or SRK.

I'll be there. My PS3 is dling the latest software update, so hopefully I'll be there on time. You starting it up notorious?

notorious_pip

oh man, I hope everyone enjoyed pip's and my attempts at hayashida/ss cancels/ and wavedashing/backdash cancels during lag...

:bows:

It was going by just fine between me/pip... I think the mics might be killing it overall... not sure though.

It could be that I'm in Southern California and everyone else is so far away from me -_- so it might be my fault :(

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 02:47 AM
Oh, shit, sorry, I didn't see the message. I'll invite n8nmonster after your match.

I'm actually not too far away from you, Markman. I'm in Northern Nevada. Our first match's connection wasn't too bad.

MarkMan
04-13-2008, 02:55 AM
Yea, the connection was MUCH better after the mics were turned off.. I'm actually able to do some movement etc..

n8nmonster
04-13-2008, 03:03 AM

notorious_pip

04-13-2008, 03:06 AM
I probably have one more in me, and then i'm done for the night.

MarkMan

Good Times Guys, Thanks for the Matches.

Thank you! See you next time... I usually don't get a chance to play Tekken online, so it was fun...

Just wish I was able to jump in on the voice chat (but never do due to me not being able to stand any more lag than there already is).... Cuz if there was voice chat we'd be singin the blues all night long ^_^

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:11 AM
I got the invite, but it booted me out.

Edit : Again!! I'mma go check out my network settings. Be right back.

Edit 2 : It says NAT Type 2, so I dunno what's going on. It worked fine last time. Try it again.

Edit round 3 : Fuck it, I'll try hosting. Maybe that'll work.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:18 AM

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:24 AM
I cannot join any matches whatsoever. I've tried a few that have 3 bars to no avail. I think my ISP's to blame.

Actually, I'm going to shut off my PC. Maybe that'll do it. Send me another invite, pip.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:24 AM
Is the room not letting you in?

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:26 AM
It lets me join and shows me who's in it, then it gives me a network error.

Edit : I was finally able to join a room. Send me an invite.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:27 AM
That's weird. Are you still at NAT 3?

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:31 AM
All right, I'll send you another invite after this match.

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:31 AM
No, it's NAT 2. I don't know why it's giving me problems. I just played a match online, so shoot me an invite.

Edit: Nope, I just tried and it failed. I'm going to go play online with some other dudes. I don't know what's wrong.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:31 AM
Ah, nice. It looks like you made it in.

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:37 AM
Nope, I didn't make it.

I'm going to check out my internet settings again.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:38 AM
I don't understand why it won't let you in.

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:42 AM
When I join, it shows me 2 people in the room besides me. The top bar is blank, then it sits there for about 5 seconds before it boots me out.

It's pissing me off.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:42 AM
Hmm, try this. Make a room and invite me and cheezyE. We'll join your room and see if it works. Just make it unranked, no mics, 3 rounds, 60 seconds and 3-4 or for player slots.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:48 AM
Did you make a room yet?

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:51 AM
Sorry about the wait. I made the room.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:51 AM
cheezyE should be coming along shortly. He's still midmatch.

MarkMan
04-13-2008, 04:52 AM
Make sure you're forwarding the right ports/DMZ as well... make sure you're forwarding to the PS3's IP too...

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 04:55 AM
I checked it out. It seems fine now that I'm hosting. Don't know what's up.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 04:58 AM
I think it's cheezyE's connection. I'm going to try to have him host the room.

notorious_pip
04-13-2008, 05:01 AM

hankmecrankme
04-13-2008, 05:01 AM

I'm usually playing on Sunday nights too. Usually just for like an hour or two, though. Just let me know if you want to play.

MarkMan
04-13-2008, 06:12 AM
