Is this a good camera for a novice who wants to get into photography?

Once again, check out www.dpreview.com if you are looking for a digital camera. They have TONS of info there. If you want a film camera, I can't really help you. If you do want digital, at least check out the Sony DSC-V1. I own it and love it. I got it as my first camera and it was pretty easy for me to learn on. It has a decent manual mode as well as the option for fully customized settings once you learn what you are doing.

if youre buying a camera for more than

point the camera. tap the button for auto focus. hold the button to shoot.

dont get that one, its fully automatic, and while you may get good photos, you wont know what you did to make them good ^^ ill look around for a link to a good manual camera, some company still makes them.

That camera appears to just be the body, I WOULD NOT recomend a SLR type camera for a novice. If you get an SLR you need to buy len's for it and they can get VERY expensive, also they are usually not made for novices.

this is good for learning. youll need a good photo manual too to explain to you what aperature and shutter speeds mean
