Yeah, I live here in Tampa and we're going to get slammed by Tropical Storm Bonnie and Huricane Charley. Rain will start around 2AM and the worst will last from 2PM to 3PM Saturday. 250,000 people had to evacuate St. Petersburg, and 50,000 from South Tampa. I live on the Hillsborough River so it was recommended that I, too, evacuate. But I'm not. We had to move all my outside furniture into my garage. There is one good thing about this storm: NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! The schools were shut down to serve as shelters for those evacuated. Every store is closed tomorrow as well. Water is sold out everywhere, and I'm getting a little scared. But I think it will be exciting. Winds of up to 120mph are expected. This is the record evacuation in Pinellas County. And 2nd biggest in Tampa's history. They are shutting down the 11 mile Howard Franklin bridge which connects Tampa to St. Pete. They are bringing their loud trucks with sirens sounding to make sure everyone is gone. It's pretty serious. They are shutting down power to half of Tampa. So my computer, PS2, and TV will be down all night.

Have fun in this exciting storm, I love the occasional severe thunderstorm, but the most we ever get from hurricanes is big winds.

My God, how're you gonna survive?!?! [sarcasm]

Seriously though, if that was happening to me, I'd get all my systems and games into big-ass containers and put them where you go to be safe. There is no way in hell I'm losing some of my games to a damn storm.

Ya, I would have to agree, seriously, you do not want to screw around with mother nature when she has a severe case of PMS.

Edit: Dayum. I just noticed that you are gonna "feel the wrath" WSB. Watch out for that storm surge!

We havn't had anything even relatively severe in quite some time as far as hurricanes are concerned. I remember a few stronger ones when I was a child, but .. not during any of my teenage years, I don't think, which are basically gone now.

Bonnie sure did crap out on us, we must have gotten an hour or so of sprinkle over here.. I'm hoping for more from Charley.

Latest tracking puts it just below us, but we're still going to be on the backside of it and catch some nasty winds and surges.

All prepared here though. I'll check back later tonight if power and weather permits.

This will be my first major storm in FL since I just moved here this past April...anything to be worried about? Or stay inside and game all the way through it (provided the power stays on). Could you imagine being really far into a level, not having saved yet, and POOF!

Yea that would suck. But from the looks of things, Miami should be relatively safe.

it changed from going to hit north of here, to going to hit here head on to hitting south of here within an hour's time.

evacuation shelters are not fun.

Well, after powering down some dinner, playing some GBA and watching TV, the reporters here are pretty much saying Jax is in the clear. Worst case forecasting strikes again.

Phew.

In that case, Uncle Sam wants to know how you plan on giving him his share of some crappy Spawn figures and sucky $5 games.
