My brother got My Spanish Coach for his birthday a couple weeks ago. He's in Spanish 5 AP but he still enjoys it. The problem with it is that it doesn't teach grammar, so you'll never speak fluently using it as a sole resource. It does have a lot of vocab though, sometimes more obscure words that aren't typically taught in a beginner's Spanish class (Ex. salchicha = sausage). I like how it pronounces the words for you, very important when learning a new language. For those interested in trying out a new language, I think it's great.

Seems like it would be a good supplement to learning a language. I'm considering the French one (My French Coach I believe) since I'm in my fifth year of French.

I rented the spanish coach and it was extremely easy for me.Some words were hard but nothing that hard. I know spanish so that's probably why.

Read a few of the reviews on Amazon for the Spanish one... a few people talk about bad pronunciations of words. IMO, if they can't get the pronunciations right, then it's useless as a learning aid. The other comment about the lack of grammar teaching is partially right - some posters said the first 40 lessons include grammar, but the remaining several hundred do not... so it's more or less a glorified vocabulary trainer and not much else.
Still, for $20, maybe it's worth it?

Everyone I know who has tried Rosetta Stone complains about it not being that good.

Combine that with the fact that Rosetta Stone is over $200 and My Spanish Coach is $30....
I have My Spanish Coach and my wife has My French Coach. For the money you spend, it is a pretty good learning tool. Yes, it is basically vocabulary, but there is some grammar involved and there is a word and phrase translator built in as well.
I recommend it to people who have an interest in learning a new language - but by no means are these games going to teach you to speak another language all by themselves.
