Everyone is grabbing these up for these prices and for 5-10 they will fly off of shelves. We hd owners need to beef the collection up while we can.

?? Why? Just to collect dust when you have to get a bluray to watch any new movie that comes out? Seems kind of dumb.
This is a great movie though. The previews for it didnt do it justice. If youre one of those people who for whatever reason like to collect dead media formats then I recommend it.

Because HD-DVD players didn't just stop working?
A movie is a movie to a lot of people, and my 360 HD-DVD player is still going to be in my entertainment center for years to come, so whats the difference?

HD DVDs look & sound identical to their Blu-ray counterparts for the most part & if you already have an HD DVD player, picking them up for cheap is a no brainer. Plus, Universal & Paramount BDs are gonna take awhile to come out, on top of carrying new Blu-ray premium prices, not HD DVD clearance prices.
As for Lucky Number Slevin, I didn't enjoy it enough to invest in rebuying it in HD, so I'll take a pass.

I would buy a shit ton of HD DVDs if they dumped into a $5 bin.

You know this comment has shown me the light.I was going to spend $9.11 for hd-dvd but now that i think about it i think i will wait a year and pay $40.00 for blu-ray. im really looking forward to the blooper reel im sure they are going to throw on there for an exclusive extra.

QFT... I didnt panic when HD-dvd lost... I have a nice collection of about 60 titles on that format... have an A2 and the 360 add on... so Im set... and yes I have a PS3 and nice BR selection too, Im covered
The drop to 50 on the add on allowed me to pick up that extra player to keep in my personal room... (all my FYE's didnt have the player)... Ive watched movies on it every day this week

Yeah, I gotta jump on the wagon here. Can we stop with "it's dead" comments...seriously? As was previously said, it's not like this stuff suddenly stops working when a company stops producing it.
Think about it. People still play games on an original Xbox or GameCube, both which are dead consoles. Hell, some people still have LaserDisc units, which were pretty much stillborn.
I picked my 360 drive up for $50 ($30 rebate, too) at FYE when the price dropped. I'm going to get as many cheap movies as I can. It's not like this was an actually inferior format to Blu-ray. They are pretty much the same. It all came down to which one got the support.

Great price. I may have to pick it up.
I wonder why all these people who talk trash about HD-dvd begin dead don't thread crap in the SD-Dvd threads. I mean SD-dvd isn't even in 1080p. I mean what loser would watch something that wasn't in 1080p.

Yeah I'm buying all these HD dvds just to collect dust. All my 500 dvds are just pointless now too I guess. I might as well toss them out in the trash since they aren't as good anymore.
You go ahead a dump all you HD stuff and I'll get the Matrix trilogy for about 20 bucks and you can pay a hundy when it's actually released on BR.
HD's don't take up much room, look great in the collection and the 360 player takes up no room so I don't have to clear room in the entertainment center like I did with the VCR years ago.
Also it's not like you can upgrade your dvds to BR or something so they're gonna be around a long time still. I burned all my home videos and VHS tapes onto dvd so bye bye VCR. Can't do that from dvd to HD/BR.
As I said before I'd probably buy any HD's I even consider decent at 5 bucks and will buy anything I like for 10 no problem. They won't get to 2 dollars like people keep saying unless you live somewhere that no one bought into HD. Walmart and a bunch of stores have already sent back their stock and didn't bother dropping prices. Best Buy is doing that 30% off thing that's not really a good deal for us but they don't want to do much more before just sending them back.

9.11...could they maybe just lose or add a cent or two...not the best price point ever.
