I am here to update that I still have not received my share from user clockworkbob.
I gave them Bomberman Ultra in exchange for Noby Noby Boy.
They downloaded the game, installed it, and plyed to 35% of the trophies. No real word from them back.

Deactivation (Freeing up a license in case you need to format drive, replace, etc) DO THIS BEFORE DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

1) Log into the account that you would like to deactivate.

2) Go to "Playsation Network" and make sure you are signed in. From here, select "Account Management"

3) Select "System Activation", "PS3 System", "Game" and "Deactivate System". This will remove you from the group and return a free slot.

Make sure you deactivate first, and then once you format, you should be able to log back into all the accounts and download away.

1) Log into the account that you would like to deactivate.

2) Go to "Playsation Network" and make sure you are signed in. From here, select "Account Management"

3) Select "System Activation", "PS3 System", "Game" and "Deactivate System". This will remove you from the group and return a free slot.

Make sure you deactivate first, and then once you format, you should be able to log back into all the accounts and download away.

you don't have to deactivate to be able to access your account again. it is linked to the console, so if you replace a hdd or format or whatnot, it won't affect this. i'm positive because i've upgraded my hard drive numerous times.
the only time you should deactivate is if you are are wanting to get rid of a console. if you are going to be putting the same games/downloads on your ps3, just do a backup before replacing the drive. that way you don't have to bother downloading the same stuff over again, unless you want to.

Is anyone interested in a long term share group as well as catching up on past PSN releases? This group would probably be best to start out with people who just got a PS3 or have a minimal amount of PSN games.

I'm thinking a $20-$25 initial investment per person and we can nominate games for the initial investment ($100-$125).

Afterwards, a $10/month investment as I'd want this to be a fairly active group and get most games that are considered to be decent since the games are going to be so much cheaper split in 5.

All new PSN games will get voted on and each month, a backlog PSN game will get nominated by each person and the highest vote getter will also be bought (provided that there's enough money for the monthly investment).

Thinking something like
3/5 votes for $0-$14.99
4/5 for $15-$24.99
5/5 for > $25

DLC: All people will need to own the game to determine if we buy it. If everyone has it, 3/5 votes for $0-$9.99, 4/5 votes for >$10

Yeah, contacting them would be the only way.

I really wish Sony had it set up like Itunes, where you could at least see how many PS3s are activated with your account. And maybe an option to set a msg out to both e-mails asking permission to share? so that it is harder to steal your account.

When I tried to do this I had to sign into the game sharing account and before I copied it it gave me a message that the this would invalidate the license of the other copy. Also if this is just invalidation of my share can I still transfer a copy from my psp back to my ps3 later to play it on my ps3? thanks.

You can register and unregister a PSP which is linked with your PS3. That will deactivate the game you copied onto it.

That is how it works. There is one main person. He uses his PSN ID and all the other members either add funds through the PSN or through Paypal. The main leader then buys the game, gives out the password, and the other members download the game on their own PS3. Voila, 5 people just got a game for 1/5 the price!
