PSN Share Instructions

Process is simple, once we get all slots filled. I will PM you to pay me via paypal, amount will be $13.99+ paypal fees= $14.50 total

I will go out and purchase $70 PSN prepaid cards and create a new PSN User ID and password and download those games. Once I have done that, I will email the PSN share group the User ID and password. Please use the honor system and download for yourself ONLY and do not email out ID to others.

You would create that User on your PS3 using my User ID and Password, Sign In and goto Playstation Store and goto View Downloads and then Download those games for FREE to your Single PS3 unit and Install.

Remember do not delete that user you created to do this or you will not be able to play the content you downloaded. You can sign in other accounts on your PS3 afterwards and still play those games.

This way all of us get 6 games for the price of one. Let me know if this is clear.

If this group is also interested in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 that will be an additional $3 for $17 total + paypal fees (0.50)= $17.50 per person in addition to 6 other games - total 7

Sadly I got it on 360, and ps3. I didn't pay 10 for either one. I was able to get a cheap points card so on 360 it cost me 5 bucks, and 2 bucks on psn. Sadly I would have paid the 10 for it. I really like turtles. Although the game is fun. It could have been better.

You do know it's 5 slots per account, not per game right. So between the 4 PS1 games you have listed your already full, and your own PS3 counts as one of the 5.

No, this wouldn't work. Every username account is limited to 5 PS3. Once you hit that 5, no one else can download from the account.

That is why in my first paragraph I wrote that after this share, my next group would be a long-term share group which would buy all titles on PSN that receive a 75 Metacritic score or higher, that are released after the group is formed (this score is negotiable, but it seems like a good cut-off point). This way, people wouldn't argue about what to buy. It seems like any game with a >75 Meta average is at least worth 2.00 (10.00/5). Higher priced titles would have to be voted on. Sound good?

I don't know if anything on the PS3 is region-locked, I know for a fact it plays full retail disc games from the UK.

17 pounds (the UK price for Trine) is around $28 U.S.

Hey all, this is one of my first posts on CAG, though I found some great deals on the site around Black Friday last year.

The reason I'm back now is I'm trying to find a way to get Trine. If I had some way of just buying things off of the European store I'd do that in a heartbeat, but I think I need a European credit card of some sort. I've been waiting to try the darn game for a couple months (it was originally announced for last June) and I can't even demo the PC version because I use mostly Macs now and both my PCs are either broken or on their last legs.

Anyway, I'm interested in trading some stuff I can get over here on the US store (PS1 classics, you name it) for access to Trine. Alternativaly I'll paypal you in advance, or something like that. I'm open to suggestions.

I'm finding it hard to wait patiently for the game due to Sony America's total silence on when the game will be coming out (I don't have much faith it's coming out next week in the US, either, at this rate). In my experience frustrating silence usually indicates they've got bad news. Thanks to whoever can help get me to stop thinking about playing this game and start actually playing it.

The trick is to find people who would stay dedicated to the gameshare for an actual long-term period.

In the PSOne gameshare I'm running, I think it's become accepted with-in the group that there are going to be games that at least one of us owns. In the case of our group, that game happens to be Final Fantasy VII.

However for the betterment of the group, the person who owns FF7 has decided to take a hit on that game and chip in for it anyway. To reciprocate that gesture, since this person wants to pick up Suikoden and Wild Arms, two games that I already own, I'll take the hit on those. It's only $2.40 on my end anyway so whatever.

Either way, anything other than a long-term gameshare just doesn't make any financial sense because down the line, when you do run out of space, and you want another game, what will you do? Even bundles, although more sensible than single game gameshares, will eventually fill out your account space over the next few years. Other than deleting accounts specific to certain games and then adding them back in (and deleting some other account) when you feel like playing that specific game(s), and that would be a really asinine way of handling the issue, long-term accounts are just for the best.

Generally no. Things like this have historically had restrictions that they cannot be played on more than one PS3 in a 24-hour span.

I tried it with SOCOM's beta phase, and my roommate downloaded from my account via gamesharing. When he started up the game, I was unable to play for 24hrs. So if they're anything alike, I'd imagine it's not possible to share. (Unless you're just selling the code, rather than sharing the account)

Tagout, I want to say that I am currently interested in that share group. I don't own a PSP but have preordered the Go, so as of Oct 1st I would be able to participate.

I do have a couple of questions, which can be resolved here or via PM, up to you. But you specifically said something about NOT logging in except via PS3. So I guess my question is: Is there a way to back up files like this to a computer without logging in at all? If I'm not mistaken you can back games up via Media Go, but since I'm unfamiliar with the PSP I'm not really aware of some of these features. I do own a PS3 though so it wouldn't disqualify me...

Yep, that's what I was thinking. I just figured that I could get be covered for the first couple of games, depending on price, or something like that. Anyway, I will own a PSP on Oct 1st. Yay release date delivery from Amazon.com!

Though, I still haven't 100% decided on black or white for the PSP Go. I ordered black. Part of me doesn't want the fingerprints. But a bigger part doesn't want a sparkly PSP. Sparkles are worse IMO so I picked the black one, but if I go to a store and see a sparkly white that's not really all that sparkly...I'd consider trading it, haha...

The problem is that no GameStop's have PSP's on display for some damn reason. I've looked at several. They all have: PS3, X360, Wii, DS (multiple DS's actually). None of them have PSPs set up. One of the reasons I would prefer everyone in the group to use a PS3 to download PSP games is to avoid all these hassles (backing up, Media Go, etc). Using a PS3 to download and copy PSP games is clearly the best choice.

I don't know if this helps or not but if you download a PSP game to your PS3, you'll notice that it'll give you four options "Copy, Internet Search, Delete and Information". Remember, backing up your PS3 hard drive to an external hard drive will NOT include your PSN games or PSP games on that hard drive. And that's why most people recommend that you deactivate any account(s) on your PS3 first, so you won't waste a slot.

Well, I'm almost positive about joining the group. I just didn't understand how accounts and activation work, since I don't own both at this point. But if I can download via my PS3, copy to the PSP and still be able to use them, AND ideally, back them up to a PC/HDD, I can guarantee I'm interested. 1. Who will be responsible for the setting up the account?
I will be responsible for setting up the new account, collecting the money from the group, purchases, sharing, etc.

2. Will we share PSP, costumes, avatars, themes, songs, DLC, etc?
No PSP games. No exceptions, ever. BTW, you can NOT share full games on a PSP GO.
No Costume packs. A good reason for this is the endless supply of costumes for LBP, which is a mad fun game, but how many costumes can you wear at once anyhow? So no to this.
No Themes or avatars. I know I opened this can of worms by adding LBP Dynamic theme, and only did so as a one-time Dynamic Theme for us to vote on. You can only have one theme/avatar at a time, so we should never buy more than one.
DLC for a PSN game will only be voted on if we buy/bought the game too. (Such as Fat Princess, we are buying game and voting on DLC.)
No DLC for a disc-game if the DLC is available on a disc. Examples are the DLC included on LBP GOTY and Fallout3 GOTY (which includes all five DLC for the game). Buy/Rent/Trade for the disc with DLC is a far better option than sharing it!
No DLC or songs for a disc-game with endless amount of DLC (such as Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Singstar).
DLC for a disc-game that is neither available on a disc (disqualifying Fallout3) and is not re-released on PSN (disqualifying Warhawk, Burnout Paradise) can be voted on (such as Prince of Persia DLC).

3. How will we determine what games to buy?
We will strongly push Trophy games with high ratings, and add cool PSN sales of the week, it is by no means limited to that.
Anyone in the group can let me know a game they want added to the list.
The group (us) will take votes on whether or not which game to buy.
I will keep a list of who wants what, and e-mail it to the group occasionally for voting.
If 3 of the 5 want it, it is bought as a group. (see next question to cover your fears)
If only two of us want it, the 2 can optionally each pay 50% if they want.

4. But why should I pay for a game if I did not vote for it? WTF?
Yeah, I know. You are actually 100% right!
How often do you think practically speaking you will ever find a group that has all the people agreeing to add a game?
It hardly happens, because usually one person has the game already, or thinks it sucks.
I bet that some of the games I already own will also be voted for by three others, and I will have to pay 1/5 again.
But I am also sure it is worth it to have a solid group, and all new games going forward will not be pre-owned by anyone.
Simply, if you want in this group, you accept that occasionally you won't care for one we add, but chances are MOST you will like.
Heck, you are one of the five voting for the game!
The bright side is: you don’t need to go hunting for a group each time a new game comes out.
Also, you can have a max of 16 account on your PSN, and this share will allow you to stay under that limit.
NOTE: If you are still angry about this, then this is NOT the share for you. Flame me via PM if it makes your ego feel better.

5. How do I send payment?
You have three options, pick whichever YOU prefer:
a) Send exact amount using PayPal, be sure to mark it as "Personal", instead of "Purchase". Also choose "Gift", as this is the only way to avoid PayPal fees. No CC for this option, must be funded with either your PayPal balance or bank withdrawal. If this is too complicated, pick another option…
b) Send PayPal "Purchase" amount WITH added surcharge. As an example, instead of $10, it would be $10.66 (I will e-mail you the amount each time). This can be funded with CC or whatever (PayPal "Purchase" charge is currently the same regardless of the source of payment.)
c) Send me an unused PSN Card code that will be used to add funds to the account. I will also keep track of how much credit you have left before you need to send another.

6. How much do we have to pay for one game?
Each of us will pay 1/5 of the current price. (example $20 = $4/ea).

As we vote and add games, you will be asked to contribute whatever your additional share is.

First of all, I think we should have a system where we buy all new games that get a certain Metacritic rating so we won't have to vote (or argue) on every single game that comes out. I was thinking if Metacritic score is 75 or more, it is an automatic buy. We can also vote on games that receive a worse score.

Secondly, I don't like the idea of buying older games, even if a new game doesn't come out every month. I have pretty much all of the PSN games currently that I want (~45) so any older games we would purchase I would already have. This is why I liked the idea of a long-term group for ONLY new games.

Hope you consider my suggestions, and thanks for starting the group so I didn't have to!

Has anybody from North America gameshared the European version of Trine and does it work on their PS3? I have heard stories that it might be incompatible with North American TV sets (I play with a Standard Definition T.V.) so I don't want to download and then find out I can't play it. If so, I have been given an offer for Trine in return for two other games that I buy and then allow him to download on my account.

As far as I know, once money is in your account, it cannot be transferred to another account. A single PSN account can only be activated on 5 different PS3s. So the 5 people that register that account on their PS3 will be able to play ALL the games purchased on that account. If you wanted to share individual games, then you'd need to create sep. PSN accounts for each one, and add money to those individual accounts. A PS3 can be de-registered and a new one can be registered on that account if someone ever wanted to leave your group.

This group is for NEW PSN games only! We will be buying new PSN titles, as well as DLC for those titles. We will NOT be buying any PSN title released before Zombie Apocalypse (our first title) or PS One classics.

If a title is released and receives a Metacritic score of 75 or above, it is an automatic buy (unless everyone in the group doesn't want it for some reason). If a game receives a worse meta-score than 75, it may still be purchased if the majority of the group wants it, and the game receives at least a 3/5 vote to purchase it. I wouldn't pay 10.00 for Zombie Apocalypse, but the demo is fun, and I think it is well worth a 2.00 share. The IGN review is judging the game at a 10.00 price point. It all comes down to how much you like killing zombies (LOVE IT) and whether or not you already have Burn Zombie Burn.
