No it will not. I have a WD harddrive, and it is all fine, I just had to format it before I backed everything up.


It was the easiest thing ever to upgrade my harddrive

back up everything on an external harddrive
take out old harddrive
put in new harddrive
you will have to format it
connect your external harddrive and get all your shit back

its limited to 16 users :( otherwise i would just do single gameshares, but i ran out of slots and had to start deleting games :( (once you delete the user u cant use thier games anymore, same as deactivating but they dont get a slot back)
there are three limitations to how much you can gameshare
1. price (cuz we're all cheap)
2. space on ps3 (thats why im upgrading)
3. user slots (every ps3, old or new, has 16)

This group would mainly buy the lastest psn games available and be open to all new ones via voting.

But doing that will also make the games you shared with them unavailable to them.

what you do is everyone places money in the main sharing account and then eveyone votes to see what gets downloaded so there aren't as may disputes, everyone gets a copy cant complain with that

you only have to keep the account on the system, you never have to log into it again once the stuff is downloaded. the downloaded content is available to all users on the system.

Hm, so is DLC affected in the same way as a normal release? I just deleted an account and got a copyright error on Street Fighter II HD, but would the content just flat out disappear if, say, I wanted to play the Selvaria missions in Valkyria Chronicles when the account was deleted? I just checked and I have 7 accounts now, so I've still got 9 to go, but I'm gonna try to ration stuff quick a bit.

Edit: I'll also throw my hat into the ring for long-term gameshare stuff.

You can always start the group with only 2-3 people, charging them as if there were 5, eating the extra yourself until your able to sell the last share or 2. That way people aren't waiting around. Having said that I may be interested. I thought they were normally $5 bucks each so $9 total. Split 5 ways that would be like 1.70 a piece. If so, I'm in.

Or you actually have shared your account 5 times already. You have to remember Gamesharing is PER ACCOUNT not per game. The games DO NOT HAVE SLOTS YOUR ACCOUNT DOES. Hope this help.

You can join a gamesharing group. It's just your account to which he's tied, not your system. It's not simply 5 users per system, but 5 users per account, so you could potentially have yourself + 4 different individuals on every single account.

I have two users: Tweedledee (my main account) and Tweedledum (secondary gameshare account)
My friend and I only gameshare on my Tweedledee (main account), but myself + 4 other people (none being my friend from my main account) have a gameshare group (Tweedledum)

I currently have a share in phantasyx's long term PSN gameshare group that I'm selling. Just went over some financial stuff and it isn't feasible for me, so if anyone is interested, it's $11.25. Either PM me about taking my spot, or PM phantasyx if you're interested. They have interest in a lot of stuff, from puzzle games to racing games to fighting games to whatever else.

It's relatively new, so you wouldn't be really buying a heck of a lot of already downloaded games, but could vote or suggest which ones you want. I believe there's only Burn Zombie Burn and Everyday Shooter, so you'd have quite a bit of cash left over with which to vote. It's quite flexible, as you aren't forced to pay for stuff you already own/really don't want.

- Does this work with DLC such as LBP DLC, or codes you redeem from collectors edition games?
- Does the person who bought the DLC have to be on his PS3 when you download it on the other PS3 using their account?
- Can you both use the downloaded game/DLC at the same time.
- I read it has to be activated to work...how do you do that?

4. An account is activated by creating a new user, and entering the login and password you are given. Then you go to the download list in the store and download the game. When you click download, it activates the content. To deactivate you go to account management in the XMB and can deactivate the account.
5. I have not heard of any risk of being banned.

There were 5 of us, and you took a spot there. Gameshare is completed.
You cant sell the gameshare account, the op was the only or the cheez guy. However, neither him or you, or even me for that matter can sell the "share".

If OP, had given his share to 3 people and kept 1 for himself, he can actually sell the share cause there would be a spot open.ie 4/5 spots and one to sell to anyone.
In our gameshare case, we cant.

i believe you were part of our gameshare group.
There were 5 of us, and you took a spot there. Gameshare is completed.
You cant sell the gameshare account, the op was the only or the cheez guy. However, neither him or you, or even me for that matter can sell the "share".

If OP, had given his share to 3 people and kept 1 for himself, he can actually sell the share cause there would be a spot open.ie 4/5 spots and one to sell to anyone.
In our gameshare case, we cant.

Nope, as long as he deactivates the content, and then deletes the content and the account from his machine, he should be able to 'sell his share'. That is as long as the OP didn't change anything on the account.
