You create a private group, invite members, basically the other 4 people who will be gamesharing, and you keep all communication on there, its a lot easier.

The way I understand this thing is that regardless of whether you want/download a particular game, if your PS3 is activated for that account, you're using up one of the 5 slots.

You can avoid taxes by changing your registered PSN address to a tax free state, like California.

I did it the other day and I was still able to get the savings with my billing address(different from PSN address) in TX, a taxed state.

You can't give out access to a 6th person. Your *account* only has 5 activations. Not the games, but the account. Whoever has access to your account has access to all your games, current and future. It's not the PS3 that prevents it, it's the PSN. You can't have more than 5 PS3s activated on your account at any one time.

How it works?
1) I make a brand new gamertag
2) We share detail of the brand new gamer tag within our group.
3) Take turns adding the same amount of credits into the account (additional funding option) <--- see below

As for a long term group, I'd put this one together for most of the games that will be released that support trophies. I already have SSHD, but PJ Eden and Pain are ones I'd like to get (if pain definitely ends up supporting trophies). I do most of my gaming on the 360 so I'm not interested in RB or GH DLC on the ps3. As for other games, it would depend on a case by case basis.

As for the structure, I'd be willing to set it up and have people paypal me the $. Then go from there. Probably setup a group on the free forums site too once we have 5 people. If one or two people wants out for certain games they can opt out, and I could possibly trade the extra gameshares on goozex if necessary, but everyone will be on the honor system to not download the games they have not paid for.

No, I don't believe it supports PSN Trophies yet, from what I am reading it does support in-game trophies, but the patch for PSN Trohpies has not been released yet. The next Pain Expansion is supposed to include this support.

I set up our group using the group function here on CAG. Just create a group, make it invite only and send out invites only to the members of the gamesharing group. The group function is perfect for this type of thing.

I actually went to that site and signed up in order to host our group there. Then I realized that I wasn't able to set it up on my own without having a Mod set it up for us so I just went the quick and dirty route and did the CAG Group like was mentioned in the OP. After we get this first deal for PJ Eden done I'll probably send you our group info for that site to get it setup there.

You're better off not buying games first, it's much easier to buy as a group than try to trade what you have. Just determine if you want a long-term, buy most stuff that comes out, group, or just a few ad-hoc groups to get a game or two here and there.

New releases that comes out in the future that our group is willing to buy. a 3/5 voting system will be in effect. If you go and check on that forum many I believe all of them are using a 3/5 voting system with money down payments. Everyone seems to be going along.

From what I've been told warhawk and gran turismo 5 prologue isn't shareable.

In response to rddflag and WHFinest187 above concerning the downpayment thing ..... I think the word downpayment is making it sound worse than it is.

When you start a longterm group initially you'll have 0 funds in your psn wallet. You'll need to put in money if you're going to buy games right? So the way the other longterm groups are doing it is each member adds $10 to the group wallet. In essence you put in 10 bucks but you'll get 50s worth of buying power. Then whenever a game comes along you want, you just go in and purchase using your group waller funds. When your wallet gets depleted, everyone puts in another 10, repeat cycle.

The advantage is you can get games instantly when they come out, no need to wait for people to pay up etc.

So not so much downpayment, as actual payment. (Sorry Kandal, not trying to step on your toes, just trying to clarify :D)

ive traditionally gotten decent deals on points cards so i had just went xbla, but now with the gamesharing im really not sure. theres also the lack of idiotic drm on psn which is nice.

I read that they changed the DRM and that Warhawk is now shareable since around the 2.40 firmware release. The only hook is that you always have to have the correct password entered on the "parent" PSN account that owns the game, so it's risky if you share your actual active PSN account that you buy games with and have your credit card on because the people you share with will always have access.

If you are going to do a long-term the best thing to do is have all members agree to an addition of $10 to the main account and committing to a voting system of 3 out of 5 Yes = the group purchases the game

Just for the two games then just tell those members to paypal you the money

You're very confused about the process.

It's really very simple. Just think what it's like when you buy a game from PSN. You created your account, put your billing info in and your credit card. Then you buy a game.

The game sharing part adds two more steps - you give your account info out to your group and you delete your credit card info from the account. That's really it if you're the buyer of the game.

If you are the person getting the game from someone else, you just create a new account on your PS3 and choose "no, I already have a PSN account" from the choices. Put in the email address and password you got from the sharer. Then you just download the game from the transaction management section of your new account.

You can (and should) remove your CC info before sharing the password. In the long term group I'm in we each log in put in $10 then took out our CC info so nobody else could see it.

I would also recommend not sharing your primary account, so you can leave any info you want in that.

OK. That makes a lot more sense. For some reason I was thinking you'd all be linked together before buying the game, but I guess you buy it, delete CC info, then share. Just a comment on the CC thing - the middle 7 or 8 digits of your CC are x'ed out so even if you forget to take it out, there's not problem. Also, you've got to put in your CID when your purchase something and the number is useless without it. Not saying you shouldn't delete your info, but if you forget, don't freak out.

I'd be willing to join an active 4 or 5 person group, there isn't much I wouldn't be willing to buy when split 4 or 5 ways, and on the stuff I don't want I'd just bite the bullet and pay for my end anyway.
