Getting started, it is highly reccomended to find a Group

Post in this thread saying what you would like to purchase. Whether you want to get 5 people to buy a single game or map pack, or the entire PSN collection.

If your gamesharing group is meant for multiple transactions, one of your members should look into making a social group here on CAG.

To do this, go to the social group page, scroll down to the bottom, and click create group. Name it something like "CAG Gameshare Group __", and make it invite only. Then after you've done that, scroll to the bottom to invite your friends. This solve our communication problems between groups

ALSO - You can search this topic for games to see what other people have or want, and try and PM them and get something together.

A CAG Gamesharing FAQ

Q: How does gamesharing work?

A: It's simple. Once you buy a game, that game is tied to your PSN ID. Basically all you do is give someone your account info, and they click "download again." Both players will have the game, but remember, don't delete the account from your PSN, or the downloaded game will be gone!


Q: All right, seems easy enough, but how does this group thing work, and whats the point?

A: Basically, take the original idea, and add a few people into the mix. Each person logs on to the account, adds their credit card info, and buys the game(s) the group has agreed on. This is helpful to us, because prior to contorary belief, Sony limits us to gamesharing with 5 PEOPLE, not 5 shares per game. The whole group thing meets that requirement. Not to mention, having a single account for 5 people where you add and remove your credit card information is a LOT safer than just giving your account information to some random guy.

Nearly Impossible..The thing is, if we can only decide on 1 game who buys it? Then we just start a rotation after first purchase? I have no problem buying BC or Wipeout as soon as they launch

Problem is hone, that we can't just share games we already own with the new cag account. It was discussed in the main game sharing thread. Only new games we buy will be shareable.

I say group 2 members just PM me with what you currently want. I'll compile a list and if a game gets 3 or more votes we'll purchase it and figure out a paying rotation.

Figure I'd make another post, even tho no one has responded yet about Rock Band. Here's a good up-to-date thread (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41549) for reference to past/future DLC. Since everyone has their own tastes it may be hard to always agree on things. Personally, I'm more interested to the heavier tracks. This Thursday's Thrash Pack is something I'm strongly considering. A few of the past artists I would consider: STP, Skynyrd, QOTSA, Rush, Oasis, and Iron Maiden.

I'd be willing to take Snake's place in Group 2 as well, since I'm used to seeing StrandedBrit and Hone on Warhawk nights. I currently don't have any psn games, and would be open to some.

Also, a suggestion I'm going to make is that you have everyone pitch in $5 at the start, since they use the "wallet" system. Now you have a starting pool of $25 for your group, and can decide weekly if you want to spend any of your budget. Then, when you get close to $0, or there's an expensive game out, everyone just puts in another $5 all at the same time. It's the easiest/fairest way I could think of.

What will probably happen is Europe will get the game in April. After they get it, SCEA will do some translation (change from U.K. English to U.S. English) and do some other things, then release it here. I think the reason for the long delay is because Europe gets 2nd dibs on it (and the approval process for Europe takes forever).

Yeah he knows. Problem is he doesn't get on often. He works fulltime and goes to school at night some days. I see him at least a few times a week though, so I can convey most stuff to him, but yeah the rockband stuff I'll try and remind him about. At least to check his PMs.

Shockingly, I have only been to Michigan once in my entire life (I went to Battle Creek). One of my old good friends lives there right now and I'd love to visit him (I forgot where). I just mention Lansing a lot because I see the sign on I-69 in my hometown saying north to Lansing (or South to Indy), and I'm familiar with MSU Spartans (since I go to Purdue main campus). I actually considered MSU but decided to not leave my state.

I try to get on here at least a few times a week, but I trust the Stranded Brit will keep me informed on any pressing issues. He is right I am pretty damn busy with work and school. It sux that I have one of those jobs with no internet, only intranet. Fucking corporate america, who are they to tell me I have to actually work when I am punched in. At my last job I surfed all damn day, until they went out of business. Hmmm.... related in any way, I think not. I would much rather be surfing the net, checking out youtube and posting in the CAG forums. Funny story, I just spilled a full glass of water on my coffee table and I rescued my PS3 controllers and bluetooth B4 the laptop and remotes, my wife thought it was pathetic. I think I just have my priorities in order.

As far as what I am interested in downloading, that is a great question, pretty much anything. I want all of the Rock Band DLC, I am pretty open to almost anything. I currently have:

I forgot about Eden, which looks pretty interesting. Commando 3 looks like a must-buy, and i checked out a video of SoldnerX where the gameplay wasn't too impressive but I was digging the nice electronic soundtrack.

Dude, some of the games are real darn good. It's a pity I have a few of these because everyone should have Everyday Shooter.

I'm beginning to see why you've all spent so much, since I never really looked at a lot of psn games.It's because many games are around an impulse price level and if they look interesting, it's tough to pass up. Out of the 20 games I bought (5 are PS1), I regret 1 PSN game (the LocoRoco one, since it's no where near as good as the PSP one and 1-2 PS1 games). Also, many are pretty good and provide some short fun. There's still 4-5 more I plan to get one day (GripShift, PixelJunk Racers, Crash Bandicoot 2, Crash Bandicoot 3, etc.).

Alright so after some tinkering around and reading up on accounts it turns out that Group 4 (or Group 5 if Johnny wants to keep Group 4) is going to have to be a Canadian Group. This is because you can't input credit card/billing info if you live in a different country.

Example: I live in Canada, so made the account Canadian. If someone who lives in the US wants to add funds to the account, they'll need to change the billing address of the account first. Unfortunately though you can't change the Country of the address, so it's only Canadians can put in their proper credit card/billing info.

So basically the Group I'm creating is officially a Canadian Group. Any Canadians feel like joining in?

EDIT: Quick edit just to say that I'm buying Loco Roco Cocoreccho as a starter game for the group. That way everyone knows that this isn't a scam or anything. Anyone who wants to be in the group please PM me your MSN or AIM names (which I'd rather have since it's a lot easier to keep in touch over games we want to buy and who's added what to the account's wallet).

My kid actually loves it. I've playes it a bit. Gotta to the 3rd level I think. It's a nice experience. Relaxing and entertaining. I think the controls are meant to be a little loose.

I personally like how no two psn games I've got so far are alike. Even SSHD and ES which are both shooters are pretty different in approach. Echochrome and WipeoutHD look to continue that trend.

Group 2 just so you know, the expansion is there but only the person who actually bought flOw can see it.

This is because for anyone else, the game isn't in their download list, and the store assumes you don't have flOw or its expansion. For that reason it only offers the bundle, since if you didn't have the game that would be the better deal.

If you want to get the expansion, just have the person who bought flOw buy it, because I'm 110% sure it's showing up in his store (since he/she has no need for the bundle).

well i found you can find plenty of things through the "all games" tab. This store really has a horrible interface and I can't wait for the makeover. I used to be clicking around the different "game" and "featured" tabs under the different categories for add-on content and downloadable games, which only give you the last few updates worth.

As far as poker for the group, I'm a little on the fence. Not much of a card player, but if the interest in there from everyone else . . . . . . . . . . . peer pressure.

Once you download a game from your shared account, you can play it whenever you want. Doesn't matter who's online or not. Techincally all 5 could be playing the same game at the same time. It's just how it works.

“Echochrome” — This is Sony’s hyped MC Escher-style puzzle game. I previewed it in December (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2007/12/11/hands-on-with-echochrome-the-pros-and-cons-of-sonys-bold-ps3-game/) and now have a full PS3 build. This thing seems just about complete to me. More to come on it this afternoon. The game will be out in early May.

“Elefunk” — From the title you might expect a music game starring elephants. I did. Instead, this game requires players to use a set number of struts, squares and other beam supports to build bridges for cute but gravity-prone chasms. If you’re smart enough, you can build a bridge that will support their efforts to traverse deep gaps. The game will be out in May.

“PixelJunk Monsters: Encore” — This expansion to the tower-defense game “PixelJunk Monsters” adds the island of Toki to the original game’s island of Tiki. Looks like there are at least a dozen new levels, but I need to play more to learn more. Add-on pack will be out in late April

“WipEout HD” — Even on standard-definition TVs this game looks like the slickest futuristic racer since “F-Zero GX.” I’ve asked Multiplayer “WipEout” aficionado Patrick Klepek to investigate this game. He’ll have impressions later today. The game will be out in late May or early June.

I know echochrome, elefunk and wipeout are definites for me. I'd like to get the PJM addon too.

I think we should start our own thread like in group 2, since it appears that whoever started this one is not willing to keep up on updating the OP. I tink it will make it much easier to keep track of, and less time consuming. I don't know about you guys, but my time is limited and precious right now. I am juggling work, school, family and gaming right now and it is hard to keep up. I really appreciate the PMs keeping me in the loop when I do log on bornrunnin31, it is very helpful. There's rules governing that I think. Up until recently I could only do 1 at a time and I just noticed I could do 3. So it must be either something to do with length of time here or number of pms sent or something. I dunno.

I'm all for cleaning up the forums and keeping other threads to minimum if there are functions in place that negate the necessity for those extra threads....

Is there a way, Linkin, that we can lobby/suggest the following then:

1. PM recipient increase
2. Ability to create wiki posts - ie: editable by anyone ala' FW?
2a. I say that only b/c we wouldn't want to end up having people blame Miller for not updating since he has a life of his own.

BTW, I have no real desire to LEAD a group. If someone else has done this and would like to head/organize the group then please step up.

We've got 4 people. Atomsk, myself, Maynard, and Trey. So maybe if we can pick up someone that has done this or has experience that would be nice.

still working on the OP here and there, and the forum has a little bit of work ahead of it. But yeah, sign up and i'll add you to the groups, because the way I have it set up, you have to be manually added to the groups before you can post in the respective sections.

The only problem with this is, i'm not going to be able to check up on this site 24/7. What i'm asking is the help of a CAG who could hop on every now and again to add people to the groups. It would be greatly appreciated. If I can't get anyone to do this.. well.. please keep the complaining to a minimum if can't add you the second you sign up.

I could do this job easily. I've been a mod on a few other small forums and would have no trouble doing this. Because of my schedule/life right now I've got significant free time and could hop on here and check for people. Making that little forum work fluidly is going to be very important for it to actually work.

I personally wish they'd just allow us to keep our little threads. That's what 4 threads on this entire forum? Seems a little tight, but I don't run the show so I'm glad we've got an alternate system.

Group 4 was created as a game download group. It wasn't created for DLC like cod4 maps or Rockband stuff. You guys may look into making a group for that, but if I'm stuck leading group 4 that's not the direction we will go. If everyone has(or we pick up) Pixel Junk then I could see us possibly picking up the expansion, but otherwise I'd say we would stay online with basic download-able games.
