View Full Version : Blade Runner 5 Disc Ultimate Collector's HD-DVD $45.99 @ Amazon.com
How low can this go? Been waiting for the first of the "clearance" drops and here it is:

Here's hoping it keeps on plummeting, although I'm not sure how long I can hold out.

Are you a Blade Runner fan? If not, that would obviously add a bit of a slant to whether or not you think a movie is worth $45.

I have the 5-Disc HD-DVD version already but I may just bite on this.

Blu Ray version is $27.99 at Amazon...
Edit: Oops, didn't realize this was for the Ultimate version. My bad

Too bad this isn't dual format!
The "plain" 5 disk collectors edition HD DVD version is currently only $22 on amazon, so you are paying alot for a plastic case and some trinkets

Well, what else do you get, besides the VK case?
K_G summed it up pretty much, but here's the description on Amazon:
The Ultimate Collector's Edition is packaged in a limited edition, numbered "Deckard" briefcase and features rare and collectable memorabilia such as a Spinner car replica, Unicorn figurine, Illustration and Photo cards, and a lenticular Motion Film Clip in lucite.
I don't think this will sell out at this price, so here's hoping for more discounts.

The regular 5 disc Blu-ray set for half the price is still a better deal, imo.

I cannot believe that there are people calling a set as lavish as this one, for $46, anything other than an excellent deal. Seriously, I can not believe it.

I think like any other collector's edition such as this, if you're a big fan of the film, the extra money is worth it. If you just want the movie, then buy the cheaper version.

If it was an uber Evil Dead box set I'd bite, but I can't say I love Blade Runner $46 enough of my own money. Now, if your going to pay for it I would gladly accept a gift, but otherwise, to each his own, not all of us will pay that much for a movie.

I spent $55 on the dvd version of the case. It's a bit hard to not bite on this.

It's not that it's a bad deal, it's just that you can get the same movie and extras minus the extra crap that'll just clutter your shelf for $24 less.

If a small metal briefcase, lenticular movie capture and a few figurines are worth that to you, by all means go ahead and bite. But if you're like me, and all you want is the content, buy the regular 5 disc hd-dvd edition and save your $24 for when the BBC planet earth finally takes a drop.
BBC Planet Earth is already $45 on Amazon, but I agree with you, and I don't like the look of the case itself that holds the movies in that briefcase, and would rather have the regular 5 disc. If it drops anymore then the current price, I'll be buying it immediately.

I was going to get this but I didn't know there was another version. Seeing as I have never seen the movie before should I just get the cheaper one?

Probably. The extra stuff is good for hardcore fans of the series.
EDIT: Whoops...meant movie.
