I got home from work today and there was a Fed-Ex box with my name on and right above it it said "Playstation Contest Winner". When I got in my house and opened it up it contained a sealed copy of "The Darkness" for the PS3 and a very thick paperback book called "The Darkness Compendium Volume One" and that was it no note, letter, or packing slip. I have no clue what I could have entered to have won this and was just seeing if any CAG's remember any contest that this could have been a prize for?

Wow that's pretty cool! I wish I would get free games in the mail! I have no idea what contest it was. You could try checking your Email for a conformation letter.

Nice score, I never win those things. The only contest I have ever won was an EGM Legend of Zelda Wind Waker contest. I got a standee, a scroll that tells the story, and something else......I can't remember. Anyway congrats:applause::applause:

Oh yeah if you don't want that book, I will take it off of your hands :D:D

Better late then never, especially since he didnt even know he entered. They probably needed to wait for the demand for The Darkness game to go down before sending it out=-p

Y'see, that stuff was actually for me -- I just entered in your name and address because I thought it was a spam address farming scheme and I didn't want all the junk mail, so if you could just send that on over....

Just kidding. Congratulations. It's like finding $20 in your pockets you forgot about.

I always feel like I only win things if I don't care (I won a guitar a few years ago when I walked into a music store to buy something and they said they were raffling stuff off if I stayed another 10 mins. So many little kids that actually wanted the guitar were upset they raffled off a second one after I won the first).

LOL I think the demand for this game went down a month after it came out or even sooner then that.

I thought thats what it said. They are all right, but I am more of a Marvel person.

Yeah, that games was all right. When I played the demo it sucked.

That compendium collects 1 to 50 of the comic series I believe. Pretty neat, I'm not a huge fan of the Top Cow stuff either though.

I've played the game on the PS3 my buddies sister has and it's tedious at best. You spend good portions of the game going around smashing out lights, which is something I did in many FPS games on my own without it being part of the game in times past.

Now, if they just made a game where you went around randomly causing havoc and destruction in an environment that's fully destructible, that'd be right up my alley.

As for the OP though, I look at it this way, you won a contest you completely forgot you entered and they FINALLY sent you a prize from it. Sell/trade the game and book if you don't like either. I think the game was getting $25-30 from Blockbuster/Gamerush in trade a while back, though I may be wrong.

It's not even getting $10 anymore. It trades in at $6 or so at GameCrazy for the 360 version (since it's $14.99 used) and about $12 on PS3 ($24.99 used)

Damn, that sucks.
