I came home today and decided that I wanted to go out to eat, so my girlfriend and I went for a drive from Tallahassee and ended up in Havana, Florida. The trip would have mostly been a bust except for the fact that I happened to spot a Movie Gallery on my way back. Upon closer inspection, they had a huge store closing sign up, so we decided to go in...
Here's what I snagged:

very nice, especially since they had new games. When my local Movie Gallery went to 80% off, the only good game left was Flatout 2 for PS2 for $3.99 disc only. At 90%, all that was left was old sports games.

That is a good find. I think all the movie gallery's near me went out of business last year. I should have jumped on that a long time ago.

I'm not sure why all these Movie Galleries are going out of business, I know the one here that got shut down had the market in town. blockbuster would have gone out if they hadnt shut down. But in another town the Family Video is Killing Movie Gallery and corporate is pouring tons of cash into the store to keep it running. crazy

I know why my local one closed. Gamecube launch games were considered new releases in 2006! (which meant it was only 2 nights instead of 5). They were selling used games like Gran Turismo 3 for $34.99 when the MSRP was $19.99 for a new copy. They never got in Wii or PS3 games and took forever to start carrying 360 games and only had a small handful. It was a horrible store.

We have that problem at one of the local stores also, of the tow stores I go to to find preplayed games, one sells preplayed games for about $5 apiec the otehr sells them for about $35 apiece. Crazy....as for renting games they are alot better than the local blockbusters, they ahve devoted about 2/3 of the floorspace to games, 1/3 to preplayed games/gallery rentals(old Movies), and the walls to popular/new release movies.
