I seen my Target has Dead Like me for 19.99. I have never seen it. I would try to look up reviews online but I didn't want to ruin the story when I watched it. Anyways I just want to know if the 2nd season ended on a cliff hanger? And if it does then is it still worth picking up?

I watched Dead Like Me from the first day it was on the air. It's one of my favorite TV shows ever. Yes, the 2nd season ends with a cliffhanger but it's still definitely worth picking up. On a side note, they are bringing out a straight to DVD movie sequel(that I'm lukewarm about) so hopefully it will give some closure.

I'm just pissed Showtime dropped it. Although, the person who took over Showtime when DLM was on the air cancelled almost the entire lineup in order to greenlight new shows that they wanted instead of current stuff that was on.

I would recommend DLM too. Its got a lot of funny lines. I haven't seen S2 though so I can't comment on the cliffhanger problem.

S2 doesn't really end on a cliffhanger so much as there's just not really any closure for the series. It's not like a Lost/Angel/Buffy cliffhanger.
I have strong fears about the direct-to-dvd movie. If you have missing characters and recast characters, it seems to me that you just shouldn't do it.

OP, I strongly recommend getting both seasons. Great show.

I saw it on DVD and as the others said it's very entertaining and I'd highly recommend the show. That said it does end in a rather abrupt manner. Not so much as a cliffhanger but in the lack of resolution. When I was watching it I had no idea it was canceled and spent a long time waiting for news of Season3 before I found out. I can't even speak of an analogous series to compare to because I never saw Firefly, but DLM is the sort of show that could use a movie for the finish.

amazon had the first season for $15 a few months back so i bit, even though i had never seen the show. i just got around to watching it and in the first 5 episodes i enjoyed it so much i sprung for season 2 at Target for $19.99. that's nearly half the price you'll find it anywhere else. great show. i'm not digging the new reaper, but yeah. i dont want to spoil it, and i wont, its a very hard show to describe anyway. very very black humor. give it a shot.

You can get it for cheaper.

However season 2 does not end on a cliffhanger. If you think it does than you are just an idiot that doesn't get the show. I think the season 2 finale (became the series finale) ends it nicely. Sure you want to see more, but you feel good about where it ended.

And I'm just going to ignore the movie, it looks like a mess. New people, recasts, and filmed in a different location. Just a mess.

I agree completely, well without the name calling. I wasn't aware that there was going to be a follow-up movie so I came to grips with the S2 ending as The End and think it works pretty well... with George having gotten used to her whole situation, accepting it, and kind of coming into her own in her new world. Not everything has to have a neat and tidy resolution. Sometimes "life" just goes on.

I would have loved for the series to continue...but it didn't. That's no reason to skip one of the more enjoyable shows out there.

Dead Like Me is literally the best television show ever made. The show touched me in a deep and profound way. I could really relate to the protagonist Georgia; we are so alike. Her morosity, her sarcasm, her reclusiveness. Especially since I worry about dying a whole lot. Or to be more specific, I worry about being dead.

So they're making a movie out of it? I have an idea. You know, I always wondered, since reapers don't age, couldn't the show progress much faster than our own timeline? Like couldn't 20 years go by and all the reapers look the same, but the show would be in the future now and Reggie would be 30? That might be the way to end the show. In the year 2080 when all of reapers on the show are gone except for Georgia. She's now the oldest one on the team and she finally decides to move on.

Decides to move on? It's completely random (as far as we know) to when the reapers move on.

I concur with the consensus: it's a very good show, and both seasons end on a high note without closure. I actually really preferred the no-closure route, at least in this case.

I normally don't like shows with female leads.....why, idk....but DLM is one of my favorite shows, as well. It deals with death and dealing with death....in a playful way. I was very sad when it got the axe, and await the DVD movie.

What would have been closure for the show through? I doubt they could end it with her going to heaven, or hell. All the other characters were dead decades and the show would have most likely have ended within 7 years.

I think the second season has a perfect ending to the show. Honestly I think I'm going to watch the show right now.

Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls are two of my favorite shows that didn't last. Both end nicely.

Yeah, poor word choice on my end, sorry. No matter where they ended the show I'm pretty sure I would have wanted more though. I'm greedy when it comes to good television programs that end waaaaaaaaaaay too early for their time.

The main thing that didnt seem to have true closure was what exactly happened to make Rube leave his family and eventually cause his death. It was really sad that he was there to see his daughter die (i think he reaped her, but i cant remember as it was a while ago that I watched). I would've thought they would show his complete past (they showed bits and pieces every now and then) after that moment, but they never did.

The actor who played Rube didn't want his background showed, but the creator of the show left after a few episodes so tuff for Rube.

But I think they did show what he did...

To me it seemed he robbed a bank to help his family, but his family never got the money

Dead Like Me is one of the greatest TV shows in television history (this sentence came out awkward). It's one of the my absolute favorite shows that I've ever seen. I've watched and gone through the series several times. I've probably seen each season 5-7 times. Also, the second season doesn't end on a cliffhanger as much as it makes you salivate for more episodes and to see where the plot lines were going to go. There's closure, but not a finality to it and certainly an end to a series that should have continued. Just like the series, the end to this show has a very melancholy aspect to it. I still want to know if the one black guy (don't remember the name right now) was a reaper or one of the higher ups or not. Also, I want to know what happened to the one reaper, Betty, when she jumped into the portal.

Showtime should go to hell for canceling this show. I haven't watched and Showtime show since. Still, I might watch Dexter if I can pck up the DVDs for cheap Hopefully, the direct-to-dvd movie does well and we either receive more direct-to-dvd movies or somebody restarts/resurrects/gives them another contract on another network. i don't understand why Sci-Fi doesn't pick this show up with the amount of crap they have on the air. This show certainly could work without the minor amount of cursing it has, meaning that if cursing is an issue, they could just take it out and the show would still be fine.

Also, I'm still kind of mixed on the direct-to-dvd movie, but who knows, it might be good. I'm still so saddened by the recastings and the fact that Rube isn't there. Also, I'm on the fence of the recasting of Daisy Adair, but the casting choice they went with makes sense as the actresses look very much alike. We'll just have to wait and see if she can capture that Daisy Adair personality like Laura Harris.

Dead Like Me is a really good series, very funny, just recently got done watching both seasons. And it's one of those shows where once you start you can't stop, blew through both seasons in like a few days.
