A buddy is working in france for a month... did some research on Amazon.fr but could not tell if these have english tracks? Or anything bad about these versions? Also... not sure if there are any other titles available that I am missing... thanks in advance...

The French Renaissance doesn't have English audio (only the French soundtrack) and Mad Max 2 is available in America under the name The Road Warrior.

Do buy the German import of it too outtie. "Renaissance" looked spectacular when I saw a short bit of it in SD on Starz. In HD it should look astounding by contrast.

I recommend "Brotherhood of the Wolf". It looks great, is the director's cut, and includes english subs (it's filmed in French).

I believe the french version of Total Recall is one affected by the 'pitch issue'. Some of these I just ordered from Amazon.de a little cheaper than Amazon.fr pricing, see this 174118 for more info.

If your friend can find these in a B&M store cheaper though then by all means have him pick them up.
