I hate how they don't backdate the offer to when some of the newest ones were released. In essence, you lose out if you bought it on release day, like "Across the Universe" and "30 Days of Night". I got them from Amazon so it's not like I'm going to return/rebuy.

Trust me, the tiny little tab is hardly noticeable... Come to think of it, it's pointless cutting it out. Why? The whole point of cutting it out is too "mark" the case as being used for rebate and thus can't exchange or return for another copy. But the tiny tab doesn't serve such purpose at all. I'm sure there are some anal CAG lurkers cut them out and exchange for another one, which is totally pointless other than wasting time.

I just had mine returned to me with "Box Closed - Promotion Expired - Return to Sender" on the envelope. They didn't even open it. Did anyone else experience this? I sent it in on 3/18/08 and just got it back today.

I double checked and the address is correct, it matches the current rebate. I checked highdefdigest.com and one other person had the same problem there.

Yep, that's the same address as I used in the new rebate as well. Good luck, let me know if yours goes through. There's been a bunch of reports around the internet of people having the same problem I had with this newest rebate. I think Sony might have closed it down early.

Uh oh, my sub isn't coming up either anymore...however, I saved a direct link to my submission, and it might be cached into your 'net history, but it comes up that way. I don't think this rebate is going to come through.

In light of the fact that they're refusing submissions without even opening them and people can't track their submissions anymore, I'm guessing they pulled the plug on this. Very upsetting. :(

Oddly enough, I just checked on their site for mine, and it shows the following for the Jan 2 submission:

I guess that means I should be getting one of the three from the prior "TaxForm" rebate (which is how they called it on the PDF form name).

So I've been monitoring highdefdigest.com's forum as well on this, and many of them have also had their rebate requests returned completely unopened. Doesn't look good. Plus, the tristar fulfillment number connects you to someone from Samsung who says they don't know anything about this offer.

I posted this on another forum but I am interested in (and quite frankly, trust CAG over the other place) you guys' thoughts on a possible issue I might have with this promotion.

I just bought Dogma today, and I purchased 30 Days of Night in early March. I don't have a receipt for 30 Days, but could I print out the Amazon receipt that is available on my account on the site? Showing that I did indeed I buy it, but just not show the date of when I purchased it on the slip? Would that work you think? I'm probably going to do it anyway (what's the harm in trying?)

On the last promotion I managed to use Casino Royale priced at "$0.00" (from the TRU BOGO) and RE Trilogy for Extinction, so they seem to be pretty lenient on this as long as you have the check and the two proofs of purchase.

My Jan. 20 rebate submission just took another step. Apparently the Blu-Ray rebate finally went through final rebate, and it records a ship date of yesterday. Hopefully, I get Damages....but at this point just thankful that I got anything. What a pain in the arse this was. Will report when the BR gets here.

The previous one I sent in around a week or so after I received them, which was around 02/18 or so for it to be sent out. I think it took them a month's time from when it was received to show up on the website as received, as it showed a received date of 03/25.

Hopefully it won't take another month to get Gattaca (assuming they send first choice). When I did the very first one of these offers they had, I received my disc really quick--the whole thing took like 3 weeks, and I got an e-mail when they received my items and another when they sent my disc out. sounds like a lot of us are in that boat! my check cleared on 04-25 and there's still no indication on the checkmyrebate website... so I called the toll free number this morning... held quite a while... then got a friendly girl who tried to find my order... after a long search she said she could find NO record of it! so she took down my information - what movies I bought, what movies I requested, where I bought my movies, my check number, etc... and said she would pursue it further... even gave me her name & extension to call back in a week or so...

well, I just called again... this time I spoke to a very rude and not at all helpful person named cindy... she also would not let me speak to a supervisor... she said they have no record of my submission (even though they cashed my check over a month ago) and there was pretty much nothing she could or would do to help!

* Corrected submission form, since my old one had Superbad / 30 Days / Surf's Up as my 1st / 2nd / 3rd choices, and as they fucked me out of Close Encounters with Superbad, I had to changed my choices to 30 Days / Water Horse / Across The Universe
* Copy of POP bits
* Purchase receipt
* Copies of front and back of check, showing they cashed it on 04/21/08
* A nice fax cover telling them to hand it off to a supervisor and expedite it, like they promised me that they would

I'm calling them tomorrow to make sure if they received it or not, and see what they'll be doing with it.

Was just looking for the phone number to call up and ask--since it is still not on checkmyrebate.com--when the delivery person handed me my Gattaca. So I guess faxing is the answer. Faxed on Tuesday the 27th, arrived today (30th)--label says they shipped on the 28th. Might take longer for others--for me it was just going from NJ to MA.

I just spoke to someone named Carrie and she was very helpful. I told her about the cashed check and after looking into it, she told me that they're having some delays on the stock of some movies. She asked me to fax my information in, which I just did. Hopefully I get mine soon too!

Checked the website for the last few days, and my rebate was updated to show that the rebate was processed on 06/10/08, and showing shipped as of today, 06/13/08.

When I called them to check on it, they said they they shipped me Superbad, which was the first choice on my original mailed-in paperwork, the one they couldn't find for more than a month. :wall: The real issue is that Superbad was my second choice on the prior rebate, and they sent that out. :wall: :wall:

So, it looks like they didn't listen to the multiple times I asked them about what choices were loaded into the computer, and that they didn't do anything with my faxed-in paperwork. Plus, when I faxed in my paperwork, I explained to them that I was changing my selections and why I was changing them, so there should have been no question about what they should have been. Under the assumption, of course, that they lost my original paperwork. :wall: :wall: :wall:

Once I get Superbad, I'm supposed to call them and have them send me a pre-paid mailer. Once they get it back, they're supposed to send out another title. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Hmm--I just checked mine and it says they shipped mine on the 13th--but they already shipped me a disc when I faxed them my info. Looks like I'll probably be getting another copy of Gattaca to trade for something else.

My copy of Superbad showed up. Time to call them to get it sent back and get 30 Days Of Night, Water Horse or Across The Universe, since they make paperwork magically appear even after you've been told to fax it as it can't be found. :wall:

According to the rep I spoke with, they're just going to send me a copy of 30 Days of Night and I don't have to send back the extra copy of Superbad. :shock:

It should be shipped out in 7 - 14 days, theoretically less. :-s

We'll see what happens with that.

I received my copy of 30 Days Of Night on Friday, and they shipped it out right on Tuesday. So, I'm covered with what I wanted, and ended up with a bonus copy of Superbad.

Still not happy with they way they handled "misplacing" my rebate form, and no one having a clue about where it was.

Yeah--this was very poorly handled. When they first started this offer, it was extremely well run. At least I got two copies of Gattaca out of the deal--now just need to find someone who wants to trade for one.
