Connect Wii to Monitor?

That is, it should be possible to buy a component-to-VGA cable (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023503&p_id=2170&seq=1&format=2), connecting the cable then going into the monitor's advanced settings and changing input color to YPbPr (i.e. component video).

It should... AFAIK, most component to VGA work just fine but you have to make sure that your monitor supports whatever resolution you want to use. I know that most monitors should support 720x480 (the Wii's widescreen resolution) but most older monitors don't support progressive scan.
