Hey, I'm looking for one of those USB Nintendo Wifi connector things- http://games.gearlive.com/blogimages/nintendowifibox.jpg

This. Anyone know a good deal for one? I know way back a year ago, they were going really cheaply, but I don't know about any place having a sale for one now. Comments?

It's a dongle, not a thingie. So, this thing allows you to piggyback off your PCs network connection if you don't have a wireless router?

They discontinued those silently along with the web browser for the DS along with the rumble pack (I believe so on rumble pack don't quote me on that if I am wrong).

That's what it does... when it works. :p

They stopped making them because 1) getting them to work consistently was a pain and it messed up the computer's network/connection settings often, and 2)they overheated, were prone to little wisps of smoke, port melting, and scalding fingers. Mine burnt me a couple of times, but it never stopped working. I got a router instead so all my devices can share my internets.

The USB dongle is junk. If you can't or don't want to reconfigure your wireless network, but a Wireless-G Wi-Fi Gamers Access Point by Buffalo Tech:
http://www.buffalo-technology.com/products/wireless/wireless-g/wireless-g-wi-fi-gamers-access-point/

They have them at Circuit City in the $40-50 range -- most people will recommend just getting a new router, which would be cheaper. If u are looking for ease of configuration though, it does not get any easier than these devices. With AOSS (AirStation One-Touch Secure System), all you have to do is plug into into your network, wired(!) or wireless, press a button on top at the same time you select AOSS networking on your DS, and you are done.

Easy as pie. It does not mess with your router settings, but rather sets up an AOSS tunnel thru your network. Security is simple. It will work with your Wii and your PS3 too.

Not a Nintendo related issue, but....

When I travel with my PSP, I'd like to find something to hook up to my laptop so that I can use the internet on my PSP without having to pay 2 charges for hotel internet. My laptop has Wi-Fi, and I hook up to the hotel's internet mostly thru hardwire, but sometimes thru Wi-Fi.

Suggestions?
