Apply the dream to the title of the film and to Sheriff Bell, himself. Particularly, his stoic awe of what was going on around him.

Chigurh got the money. If you noticed, when Sheriff Bell returned to the crime scene, he noticed the dime on the floor, next to the open vent. Previously, in the film, Bell hid the case of money in a vent, and Chigurh used a dime to unscrew the screws of that vent.
The fact that Chigurh returned to kill Moss' wife, even after retrieving the money, says a lot about his strict sociopathic principles.
Whose money it was was irrelevant to the big picture, and merely represented a curse, or a burden, out of bad judgment.

This might not make sense to you because you dont happen to work in television. I was there but wasnt there for that.
There are many cameras all shooting at the same time...each cameraman needs a separate guy to mix the sound coming beacuse its to much work for the camera man to shoot and mix his own sound.
I was on a different crew at the time and werent even in the city at the time. I was getting set shoots of random things that week.
But I did see the raw footage and that shit was crazy. It just came out of nowhere just squat down and take a dump. I personally am glad I wasnt there for that because then I would have had to put a boom mic close to her ass to get the right sound.

The car accident was used to both humanize Chigurh (that he's susceptible to chance, himself -- like his coin toss), and used to boost his phantom status, being able to walk away from something like that -- and you have to use your imagination to imagine that, using the tools presented previously in the story, that he'd be able to survive.
My theory is that the accident, ultimately, happed because he faltered, back with Moss' wife. I believe that he did kill her, as he promised, adhering to his sociopathic principles... but also broke his own principle by killing her, without her calling the coin toss.
Earlier: "I can't call it for you. It wouldn't be fair."
Essentially, he knocked the cosmos out of alignment, which were in his favor from the getgo -- so to speak -- well, Moss' wife knocked 'em out of alignment, nobly so. He's never run into anyone like her.
The scene where he told the two boys, "You didn't see me", was to show that his principles were still relevant, enhancing the theory that his principles were why he faltered with Moss' wife. (They played with the "if you see him, you're as good as dead" principle a couple of times, previously -- and he didn't kill the trailer park attendant because there was a toilet flush, in the background. I kept an eye out for that, the second viewing, because I was wondering why he didn't ice her.)
I was referencing an X-Files episode.
Ah. I don't think I've ever watched that show, to be honest.

I'm wondering if the Coen brothers changed the scene with Moss' wife in order to give that whole effect. The book has her call it, and lose, but the way you explain it airs a different air to the scene. They did cut out this really good speech that Chigurh has on fate and cause and effect.
And yes, Killing Joke is an awesome one shot.

I vaguely recall something about his hair being mentioned, but I read this back in November, so I've forgotten a lot. And yes, the "sugar?" line is in there. Bar two things (that I can remember), the speech on fate to Moss' wife, and the girl by the pool is actually a (useless) main/supporting character for a little while, the movie was a word for word translation of the book. The gunfights even play out identically.

Bar two things (that I can remember), the speech on fate to Moss' wife, and the girl by the pool is actually a (useless) main/supporting character for a little while, the movie was a word for word translation of the book. The gunfights even play out identically.
Damn~
I was hoping the hair and the "Sugar?" line were the Coens' call.
Those things probably resonated with them well, as did the rest of the story.
I couldn't imagine anyone else adapting that story into film, to be quite honest.

How much did those bongos go for and how much do they cost to ship, Rokk. I have four boxed sets I need to get rid of along with DK1/DK2/DK:JB.
I charged $10 shipping. My dad is manager of a company that ships out a bunch on shit through UPS so he gets a discount, and said it'd cost around $7 or $8. I charged $10 just in case since he wasn't sure.
DK Jungle Beat, with the actual DKJB bundle box, sold for $36. Donkey Konga 2, with the generic bongo box and the game, sold for $14.

You should actually read the book, it's actually quite good. It also doesn't have that downfall of blatantly explaining what every character is feeling, a lot is just hinted at. Plus, you would get to see the few changes the Coens' made.

I'll have to check those out, since I loved The Dark Knight.
The Long Halloween is basically Batman: Year Two and is sort of the transition of Batman's villains from being faceless Mafia members into super-villains. Jeph Loeb wrote it and Tim Sale drew it. It also deals with the origins of Two-Face
Dark Victory is the sequel to The Long Halloween that had Loeb and Sale on board again. It's a nice continuation of the story and also adds in the origins of Robin. I'd say these two stories provide a sort of closure to Batman: Year One.
Hush is a much later Batman story. It's just a fun all-around Batman story. Only thing is the ending revelation is a bit meh. It probably has my favorite art in a Batman comic from Jim Lee.
I think some of my favorite things between all of these stories is that in each of them, almost every character from Batman's Rogues Gallery show up in various forms. While they aren't QUITE in the same vein as DKR, they're still amazing reads and some of the best Batman stories in my book.

It's kinda like they're not so much laughing at the absurdity of the joke, but a more sorrowful laugh, because they both know that they will never win, and it will be an endless fight. Laughing more at the absurdity of their situation, than at the joke. At least, that's my interpretation.

I don't understand what happened at the end of The Killing Joke.
Well, here's how I see it.
The final joke Joker tells refers to himself and Batman, and how they will eventually kill each because there is no alternate course. Consider the title, "The Killing Joke", and how the laughter turns to silence at the end. Considering the joke, title, and the gruesome events within the tale, I like to think Batman finally kills Joker.

Probably the latter, but if it is because of the former, it is because I emailed them and said something like, "I like your service, but you don't seem to have books that interest me, such as Neil Gaiman or Richard Feynman. Please cancel my account. Thanks!"

The funny thing about that is I never do refunds. In fact, if I order a rare steak, and it comes to me medium (once, in Buffalo, they even gave me a well done one), I won't send it back. But then, I hate wasting food and being "that asshole" - but mostly, it comes from fears of the cook spitting in my food.

think about it. you're eating the preferrably rare flesh of a large dead animal, and you're afraid of some spit? unless he's got herpes, who cares?! ;)

How long did you wait before you cancelled then and what reason did you give? Did you pull a JFD and cancel after 21 days via email then send another email asking for a refund? When you signed up did the terms state that bullshit I talked about?
Here're my notes from my PS3 cheat sheet:
"OFFER: Zooba – Cancelled
Signed up 3-23-08
$9.95
-refunded on 3-31-08
Emailed a cancellation on 3-26-08
CANCELLED – received confirmation on 3-27"
And from my 360 cheat sheet:
"Signed up with Zooba ($9.99) on 11/23 CREDITED - CANCELLED
Zooba
Cost: $9.95
CANCELLED 12-11"
So, I waited a bit longer the first time.
Oh, and thanks for the CoD info! I'll pass that along to him.

That's what Pixie says. In fact, for years, she would nearly get physically ill watching me eat steak (She is a well-done girl). I told her that is why I have a working immune system: I feed it stuff from food that is not cooked.
But, yeah, that is kinda it (the herpes comment). It's one thing to mix mashed potatoes into the bloody juice left on the plate, but a whole other thing to think I just dined on some dude's slobber.

Just one. I didn't even ask for a refund.
In fact, I forgot I sent it. I was going to cancel today when I couldn't log in and checked my email and found that I had already done so.
The only offer I have "live" right now, is the 20 minute facelift. Once that credits and my last MCRs go through, I should have 400+ points toward the 1000 point PS3 40 gig and 1 game.

don't get me wrong, i <3 the bloody juice mixed with my potatos. i'm a still-moo'ing kinda girl myself. i'd rather get some slobber on my steak than pay $35 for a fillet mignon that i don't enjoy. i mean if it's a $13.99 steak at applebees, no big deal, but if i'm paying $$$ than it better be done right.

Batman was around before the Joker in The Killing Joke as well: there are flashbacks to the Joker's "birth."
yes, in the chronological history of batman publications, Batman was around before the Joker.
The idea behind the Killing Joke and other late 80's / early 90's "real world" Batman stories is that there is one thematic story that reworks the history of batman - (dark knight returns and batman: year one)
Killing Joke is about two sides of the same coin, two crazies on either side of crime.

Heh - that is awesome.
Earlier today, we saw a commercial for Make-a-wish where the kid's final wish was to be a superhero. They put the kid in a costume and had one of their guys be the villian.
I said to Pixie, "What a waste of a wish." She was shocked, and I explained that *I* could have done that. She asked what would I do if it were Juggers that was dying and that was his wish; I replied, "I make the costumes, set that up myself and then ask him, 'Okay, what do you REALLY want from the Make-A-Wish foundation?'"
Pixie literally had tears running down her cheeks, because I upset her so much. "You're a comic geek," she said, "I thought you'd understand."
I told her, "Yeah, I understand...and I'm not making fun of the kid...I just thought it was a waste of a wish."
I fear she thinks I'm a cad now...

[Most] Cats claw the fuck out of furniture, need their own bathroom box inside the house, and act like eric cartman (whatever, i do what i want).
[Most] Dogs are loyal companions who can be trained in amazing capacities including not chewing up shit, not shitting/pissing in the house, doing novel tricks, and to attack your enemies. ^_^ Plus you can use them to pick up chicks [if single], if you don't end up with an abnormally ugly dog.

Uh 99% of cats you just show them the litter box and they do their business there. No training required. Dogs are more loyal but also much more needy. It's a trade off.
Cats stink up any house they're in with the smell of cat piss. It's an inevitable reality.
I see what you're going for but it needs OTT in the title or I'm gonna have an aneurysm. You dont want that do you? Do you?
You are a great American.

Not when it comes to dogs over cats.
Nonsense, Cats do way less damage to the house then Dogs. Plus Dogs are loud, stinky and stupid. Cats are quiet, smart and clean.
Also, Chicks dig Cats.
Cats stink up any house they're in with the smell of cat piss. It's an inevitable reality.
Dogs stink up a house much worse than cats. That's a no brainer.
Stinky people get a dog so they can blame their stench on it.

Most dogs sleep all day, so they're not doing anything to stink up a house if they're housebroken. Only cats piss and shit in the house, stinking it up as they themselves get into every nook and cranny around. You don't smell it if you're the cat person, but it's there.

My cat stands outside of the shower and lightly meows for me, the entire time. He even peeks in, on occasion.
Without me, his world would crumble.
Mine jumps up on the side and sits between the inside curtain and the outside one. When my girl is taking a bath, he sticks his tail in the water and will sometimes take a swing at her face. He fell in once and didn't even give a shit.
<3 Cats.
I've got two: a fat, female calico who's pretty lame...my youngest brother chose her, and a male tabby mix of some sort who's incredibly fun.
The calico lays around all day wanting attention, but does nothing for it, while the tabby, who is amazing, will wrassle you, ambush you, destroy stuffed animals, and chase birds (when we let him out).
It's especially hilarious when the tabby climbs a tree and can't come down.
The calico is too fat to climb trees...=/

Disgusting.
I've seen a dog take a shit once, turn around, eat it, and then go lick its owner's face (who saw it eat the shit, and didn't care, because he's a nasty-ass dog owner).
Old people smell > cat smell. You're wrong about everything.
