1. Most likely no. They would lose money for each preorder (I'm asssuming) so they most likely wouldn't have this deal open for use without the coupon. They did get rid of the offer to trade in 1 game and get one for $29.99, so you'll probally need this.

2It was stated right above that you can trade in PS2, Xbox, GC, and GBA. I don't know if you missed it or were just double checking but according to the OP, it is those 4 systems only.

I just got back from Gamerush. Riddick ($25) and Otogi ($12) + $20 bonus for Fable and about $5 credit was given back to me.

I walked up to the gamerush guy and handed him the coupon and asked how many games I could preorder using this deal. He said 1 game per coupon. So that answers one question, and implies that you do need the coupon to do the trade for now, which answers the other question.

I can't confirm the ps1 games question either, since I didn't have any ps1 games with me at the time.

Gamerush is a YMMV type place on these deals, so you might be able to still put multiple pre-orders on one coupon. Just ask the employee that will be ringing you up, it takes just a couple of seconds for a yes or no.

So far, Gamerush is easily my favorite gamestore. Great trade-in values, and the best trade-in deals I've ever seen. :D

They've had this deal for a while and you don't actually need to print out the coupon to get in on the deal. Just trade in a game and you can get any $49.99 new release for $39.99 and on top of that, you take out however much they give you for your game so you could basically get a brand new game for $4.99 plus tax if ya trade in a game where they give you $35...

My BB has a book of coupons that they scan. Depending on the clerk you get, you may not even need a coupon. Deffinate YMMV, but if you cannot find a coupon, just ask them if they have this deal going on. I was able to get them to do that for me on the previous coupons a couple of times.

Well, I just traded in two of my older games. Metal Gear 2 Substance and NFL Blitz Pro (both XBOX....both pretty bad IMHO)

Anyways, the guy could nto get the coupon to work, so he eventually just took the $20 off manually but I had to pay in full. No big deal really, since I would pay for it anyways. It just took the guy like 15 minutes to figure it out. Oh well, HALO 2 LE is mine on order now.

They do take back games that you've bought from them in the past. But I've heard that some stores won't let you do it if you got the games less than 2 weeks ago or somesuch, personally, I've never had a problem trading it back in before that timeframe...

They'll take old sports games as long as they don't have too many copies of it. The store here wouldn't take back Madden 2001. As for the completeness, all you technically need to trade them in is the disc itself...

Well, the deal I saw on the flyer does let you use your trade in credit from the games toward the 29.99 preorder. But your right, the way these flyers were worded you would get a new game for 29.99 and not a new game with $20 off (which matters for games that retail for 39.99 or 29.99 - like Street Fighter Anniversary - but not for 49.99 retail games).

The deal Dustin Echoes was talking about is the same as the current deal you're talking about. GameRush adds in the trade in credit everytime, or at least they have so far. So if you're one of the unlucky few who didn't get the coupon, like me, just wait til the 7th to take advantadge of this deal...

I'm guessing they took the official magazine coupons and put the code on a piece of paper and then scanned and made hundreds of copies (there is a big fat stack of the preorder coupons and another fat stack of 3 for 4.99).

The two stores had 2 totally different style coupons even though it was the same deal (preorder deal), and one of the store's coupons it was easy to tell someone wrote and then scanned it. The other one looked like they typed it out and then scanned it. So this is definitely is up to whether or not your GR employees want to start it early or not. I've been preordering away and have 6 games now and have only used 1 of my 2 coupons, and I'm not looking to stop anytime soon. :twisted:

Soon my collection will be just preorders, and I think I'll be set for life (at least in terms of video games). Also I would be glad to try to upload images of one of the slips, if you think it would help.

Nope, not that I know of. It sounds like once they get someone to bring in a coupon they might, but they are the farthest away out of the 3 so I normally don't go there. The 2nd one is in Mckinney, but I just went there Friday and said no more than 3 preorders at a time. I also asked if I could switch titles down the road, and they said no. The only way they will switch is if they find out that they won't be getting that preorder. They had problems putting in the code, and it took alot longer than my experience at the one in Allen.

Also they have Prince of Persia 2 for 39.99.

Game Rush did run a deal earlier this year that was "trade in 1 game, get a new one for $20 off" . I bought Riddick, Mario Kart:DD, Samurai Warriors, and Four Swords...i think the deal was in June/July, they even had it on their website once because i printed off the coupon ( although you didn't need it ). Today at Blockbuster I spoke to one of the Gamerush employees who stated that the $20 dollars off a pre-order is going to replace the 'trade 2 games and get a pre-owned game for 10 dollar' deal on Sept. 6th. Well the way I do it is go to Gamestop and buy three 1.99 PS sports titles, and take them to GR and trade them two in. I did that to buy a FF: CC and took it to another GR in the area and traded it and the third sports game in for 30 dollars credit, which covered me getting Front Mission 4, Ratchet & Clank and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X .

(my girlfriend bought me a PS2 after my apt was broken into and all my games stolen, so this was a great way of replenishing my old library)

Well like I said, I already pre-ordered it and Gamerush had a number for it and all, pointed out the demo cause Nintendo is really pushing the game and thus I believe most stores will carry the game.

Has to be 49.99, some reports of gamers getting 39.99, you can usually use the trade in 1 title get $10 off a 39.99 or above title to do those pre-orders,

I think the pre-orders go far, I have already pre-ordered Metroid Prime 2 & RE 4, but they did not have Mario Tennis or Mario Party 6, doubt they have Zelda, but I think POP 2 is at 39.99 right now.

I went into today with my 6 remaining games. It was a different employee this time, but he said that he had to ring them up two at a time, AND I had to pick from a selected rack of games. The rack had Halo 2 (he told me I couldn't get the CE), GTA: SA, MGS, Def Jam NY, Star Wars Battlefront, Doom 3, and a few more. I decided to hang onto 2 of my games and traded the other 4 for MGS: Snake eater and Star Wars Battlefront.

Also since I could only trade 2 in at a time the $5 extra doesn't kick in. :(

I went down to the Game Rush in Wilsonville, OR and the guys there today said they the only promotions they had going were "Buy 1 Used, Get A 2nd 50% Off" and "Trade in a game, get any New Game for $39.99". No Pre-Order deal. Lame.

I went into today with my 6 remaining games. It was a different employee this time, but he said that he had to ring them up two at a time, AND I had to pick from a selected rack of games. The rack had Halo 2 (he told me I couldn't get the CE), GTA: SA, MGS, Def Jam NY, Star Wars Battlefront, Doom 3, and a few more. I decided to hang onto 2 of my games and traded the other 4 for MGS: Snake eater and Star Wars Battlefront.

Also since I could only trade 2 in at a time the $5 extra doesn't kick in. :(

Hmmm... mine let me pick from any preorder game in a catalog (big list of games) and if it wasn't in there they looked it up. Seemed like you could choose pretty much anything.

Yeah mine use to let me a preorder any game in a catalog notebook too, but if it wasn't in the computer I couldn't preorder. The only 3 I've run into that weren't in their computer is MechAssault 2, Conker, and Star Wars Republic Commando.

When I went in there today (I think it was the GR manager), I walked up there and said I want to put these 6 games into 3 preorders. He asked what I wanted to preorder and I opened that catalog thing, and he told me that I had to preorder from this game rack he was pointing at. Now that I'm thinking about it, I remember seeing Mortal Kombat and some Vietcong game as well as the ones I listed in a previous post.

I don't mind at all though, since I have 18 preorders now... actually 17 after I picked up Silent Hill 4 today. I'll try my 2nd closest GR sometime this weekend since they let me pick from that catalog and because they are the least strict out of the GRs I go to.

Pikmin 2 (picked it up a day after it came out for 5 dollars out of pocket)
Tony Hawks Underground 2 (already paid for in credit)
Metroid Prime 2 (already paid for)
Paper Mario 2 (already paid for in credit)
Mario Tennis (already paid for in credit)

Game Rush is incredible, I seriously got those for less than 100 dollars... more like, maybe a total of 45-50 dollars spent...

I just got Fable with the deal, and going to go pre-order Paper Maio 2 tommorow with this deal. You got to love GameRush for these great deals.

Also has anyone asked any of the GameRush employees if there is going to be a Nintendo DS trade in deal at all? I was talking with the employee there and he said they were getting Nintendo DS, but was not sure of any deal yet. I hope they got at least a deal on the games if not the system when this deal ends on 10/11/04.

I didn't need a coupon when I went to the gamerush where I live. I preordered both Halo 2 and Metroid Prime 2 and didn't have a coupon. It's a great deal!
