you get good value on getting rid of the games, but picking up games tends to be a bad value, so overall goozex is not much of a deal.

i have 600 points and can't find a thing to do with them

the site would be better if they kept teh value more in line with the market values for the games. I mean no way Assasins Creed should be 1000 points which is equal to $50. Also Prey is 500 points or 425, give me a break.

The system is based on supply and demand, not retail value. I've gotten rid of plenty of games on Goozex and was happy with getting 100-200 ($5-10) for them as opposed to $1-2 from trading them in. Of course, the ones that were in no condition to be traded on the site went to Gamecrazy (the guy there says he can buff pretty much anything). Prey is usually around 400-500 points, but you can buy it for $10 used at Gamestop. If you have the money, do it. Some of us would rather trade 4 or 5 games we'll never play anymore or even just 1 game that's worth that much for it.

As for it being one sided, I've gotten a ton of deals when making purchases of Goozex, you just have to choose the right ones for you. I just got a copy of Halo 3 for 750 points by trading in 3 games I never play on PS2. Before I got 99 Nights for 300 points ($15) when it's $25 at GS.

Sometimes it's unbalanced, but you can always choose simply not to request those titles. And what happens when no one requests them? That's right, they go down in value until they reach a reasonable level. You can get Madden 06 for $4 at GS but it's still 250 points on Goozex because people want to get it from there. All about choice.

i'm new to goozek but if you send someone a game how will goozek know if you did or not?
and do you get your points instantly when someone request it?
just a little confused

You'll get your points when you get positive feedback.
No feedback = no points

so if someone doesn't leave feedback but gets the game then what?
that person just gets your game then?

basically i'm asking how do they prevent people from ripping someone off

If the person receiving your game does not leave feedback after 21 days, the system will automatically give you positive feedback and your points. I've only had that happen once, as most people on Goozex are pretty good about leaving feedback the moment they receive the game.

When you send out a game, you should always buy the Delivery Confirmation for 75 cents. This acts as your proof that you shipped the game out. Should there be any conflict at all, Goozex will reward you the points as long as you have the Delivery Confirmation slip. Also if you use Paypal to print out shipping labels, the DC is only 18 cents.

What's the generally used means of shipping? Do people use MediaMail, or just send it First Class?

I'd say most people use First Class with Delivery Confirmation. Media Mail and First Class end up costing about the same, and First Class is generally faster.

Again, if you have questions about the service I strongly suggest that you all visit the Goozex forums. Many of your questions have been asked already, and the answers can be found there.

To the new users, congrats and welcome. A word of advice in regards to shipping, if you can print at home and have a PayPal account, I strongly recommend that you use PayPal shipping...as you can mail USPS 1st class with delivery confirmation, at a discount. My default 6 oz. packages with delivery confirmation cost just under $2.20. Using PayPal shipping, you can buy D.C. for under 20 cents. When dealing with internet video game trading, you should always use D.C.

I was #46 for one game.. then the next day it said I was matched but I didn't have enough points yet. Long wait means nothing.

For shipping, use Paypal's shipping system:
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now

It's free, and only $.18 for Delivery Confirmation.

For 1 game, first class is cheaper than Media Mail. And it won't take 2 weeks.

This just seems too good to be true even though the site is respectable and people have reported it to be legitimate. Forgive me if this has been asked numerous times, but I want to be absolutely clear with my understanding of how this site operates.

All I have to do is pick a game worth 100 points and it will be free (I already signed up)? Meaning no pay for shipping or anything of that sort? No need for me to give a game in return for the free game or anything?

LOL - they put out this promo to get suspicious people like you and me to give it a try.

Comp for shipping is in the seller's point compensation, and they make $1 per trade with no inventory, and probably little staff. At any given moment there is 3000+ trades going on... that's several thousand dollars per week in revenue for doing little else than keeping the site running and sorting out issues.

Easy, pick a game that's 100 points and not 800 points. You aren't going to get Orange Box or something for free.

Zing!

I'm a big fan of Goozex so far. I joined a week ago, and I've already shipped 4 unwanted games. I already have over 1000 pts. (or at least I will as soon as the feedback comes through).

I'm a huge fan of trading on CAG as well, but the biggest advantage to Goozex is that you don't have to match up your needs to a particular trader's wants, or vice-versa. I've been able to put together a few successful 3-way deals on CAG in the past, but they're a lot of work.

Whatever weaknesses the Goozex system has, as long as I can get the games I want, and get rid of the games I don't, I'm happy.

I know the feeling. Two I had in my request list (San Andreas Xbox and Ninja Gaiden) just went up, while the one my girlfriend just got matched for (Soulcalibur II on GC) went down. Luckily she's paying the lower price, or that would have really sucked.

Well, I've already completed one trade, and made 1000 points off of it, and then about 5 minutes later I was matched up for one of the games that was put on my list. So far this site is working out pretty good for me.

Joined this morning, despite that my body was telling me to go to bed. Always been interested in this site and finally took the time to read about it. Looks like a great trading alternative, not without its quirks.

Listed a copy of Viva Pinata computer game I got at Wal-mart on clearance for $5. It's worth 550 points. No more than ten minutes later I had an offer. I've already accepted the offer and printed the shipping label via Paypal.

I've got two more copies of the game, as I originally bought to give as gifts (and to keep one for myself, of course), but after playing a demo at my parent's house on my father's 360, I'm not sure I can stand the cute for so long. Anyway, I want to list my other two copies, but it appears that once a game is in your library -- and Viva Pinata already is, with a processing trade -- that you can't add another copy. Is that right?

Yes that's correct. Once the user that you sent the game to leaves feedback, then the trade closes out and you can add another copy.

I've got the same trouble too :/ Except, the 12 hours went by without any confirmation, so now the seller has another 24 hours to confirm?

I've searched all through the faq and the how the system works, but I can't find anything to answer my question. What happens if the seller does nothing; Doesn't confirm or deny? Will I get moved to the next available seller or is the clock going to just keep resetting for this guy? Because my 100 points and trade credit are pending, so even if I become available for any of the other games on my request list, I won't be able to get them

You can only get matched with the same person twice. If they ignore a pending offer twice in a row they get marked as inactive and their game is put on hold, while you get matched up with the next available person in line.

Does anyone know if there is a way to register certain usernames which you never want to trade with again? I recently had a failed trade in which not only did the other person not send the game, they strung me along, assuring me the game would be sent out, along with sending me a tracking number. Well, no tracking number was sent and no game was received.

I, today, registered negative feedback before the cutoff (after a period of time a transaction is automatically closed and you can't then register negative feedback and thus couldn't get your points back). That's fine and in a few days I'll have my points back. The thing is that I still want the game I was trying to receive, but I definitely don't want to be matched up again with this same seller. Not just for this game, but ever. Is there a way to blacklist certain IDs? I can't find it.

Goozex question –

I requested smash brothers brawl.

Some guy reportedly sent the game out 2 weeks ago. The game still has not arrived. I’m guessing it got lost in the mail, or something else happened to it. While I don’t think the guy is shady since he maintained PM correspondence with me, I’m still out a game and 1000 goozex pts. What legal recourse if any do I have?

Goozex guarantee
All trades on Goozex.com are 100% guaranteed. Should a game get lost in the mail or be broken during shipping, Goozex will refund you the points and trade credits you have spent, and put your request back in queue. In addition, Goozex transfers the credits to the seller only after positive feedback is received from the buyer, providing additional protection for your trades. Once sellers increase their feedback score, they will be credited faster.

Seven days before the trade is due to be automatically closed by the system you will get an email reminder, then again 3 days before. If you don't get the game before you get the last email reminder leave negative feedback. No if, and, or buts about it.

Call it my mistake, but I forgot to click on the "request condition" of the game I requested, and since it's automatically put on disc only, I got a disc only copy of my game coming. I'm not complaining, but it's really a very unnoticeable way to have you set the condition of the game you want. It's pretty obscure and I didn't even know that is what it was until it was too late.

Free games are always good though.

As long as a seller has good feedback goozex would consider the game lost and let the seller keep the points and give the buyer their points back. I'm not sure but I think for new sellers they would require DC as proof of shipment for them to allow the seller to keep the points. So I'd get DC for sure if the first game you send is a high point value game.

There's no sort of faux pas if you send a sealed game, is there? I know most game stores have a problem with that so...When my friend tried to sell a sealed CD to a store (got two copies of it for his birthday), they told him to walk outside the store and unwrap it so it didn't look like it was stolen from another retailer (I know, such a great method of theft prevention). Since those stores offer cash, and can get in trouble for buying stolen goods meaning (I'm not sure about this) they'd have to return the games they bought but wouldn't be guaranteed to get the money the spent on them back, they'd just rather not deal with that sort of thing. With Goozex, you can only get paid in credit. It would be quite an odd criminal plan to steal a retail game in order to trade it for points to buy a different game you wanted over an online service rather than simply stealing the game you wanted in the first place.

Within hours of signing up and listing games I want and games I have I had two match ups for both going in and going out. Looks like this might be a good way to not only get rid of some of my games that nobody here is taking , but also filling up my collection with games I can't get from here as well.

First game I got matched up with was approved , second game timed out , now waiting on the next one.

Question for some of you Goozex vets. I just joined Goozex a week ago and I like it so far. I've shipped out 4 games already and had a request for a 5th one last night. I got instant points from the 5th one when I accepted it.

Any idea why I got instant points on it? I did notice that the person had just signed up yesterday. Could it be because they are new? I'm not complaining, just trying to understand the little things in the system and I didn't see anything in the FAQ about it.

The downside to Goozex so far is that my first request sat in limbo for 52 hours since the seller never accepted it and it finally timed out and went to the next seller in line for that game. So now I have 5 games out and 0 games in. Oh well, it's building my Rep quickly. ;oP

If you post specific questions, you're more likely to get responses. ;)

I only just joined the website a few days ago, so my answers may not be perfect. Anyone else, feel free to interject if I make an error or add on to what I've said.

As a new user, you won't have enough points to get more than a 100 point game. Likely, if you're posting here, you have the real intention of sticking with the site rather than join, get older free game, and move on. Myself, rather than get a 100 point free game, decided to keep those points and start trading. The games I want require more points, therefore I needed to earn them.

Whatever games of your own you want to trade, you type them in the search box on the upper left. Once you've looked up the game, you click to Add To Library. Once there, you can select what comes with the game, if it is disc only, complete with box and manual, or just disc and manual. Once listed, Goozex will try to pair you up with someone who wants your game, or, if there are many other people ahead of you that have already listed their copy of the game for trade, you'll be placed in queue. For example, I listed Wave Race: Blue Storm Wednesday or so, and just last night Goozex matched me with someone.

Now, you'll have to package your game and mail it. I and other Goozex members (and indeed, pretty much anyone who trades games) would recommend purchasing Delivery Confirmation from USPS, as if push comes to shove, it's the only way you can prove you actually mailed your package. We all recommend Paypal to use as a shipping service, as Delivery Confirmation is cheaper there.

Once the person receives your game, they'll leave you feedback, and once you've received feedback, you'll receive your points. You can then use these points to get whatever game you want of equal or lesser value to your quantity of points. You get more points by trading out more games.

I hope this helps.

Ok So I signed up on Goozex. I have no idea what I am doing. Can anyone give me a run through on how the site works and shit? I read on Goozex what its all about but still don't understand.......I feel stupid :(
Last week I made a guide of how to get your first free game to convince my friends to join and to pimp my referral link. It doesn't explain anything about trading your own games if that's what you want to do though. Anyway, if you're gonna click on this link (http://www.xanga.com/Luny_Ben/650921213/free-games-no-stupid-ads.html), just remember that I wrote it with only my friends in mind, so it is not very professional.

I have a bit of a dilemma going on right now.

I just received Zelda TP in the mail and it looks to have been brushed with steel wool. I messaged the guy and he assured me that it works and that if I wanted to send it back. I am relatively new and dont know if I should send it back or not. It has dropped 50 points so Id be saving those, but it would also cost me shipping.

Is there a way to ensure I get my points back if I did choose to send it back?

Thank You Very Very Much Utopian! :D

I pretty much get it know. I guess I'll start trading also on this site. I'm a bit turned off by the pay 1.00 for a trade credit ( I've only ever traded on CAG, no where else ) but this way I will be able to find the games I'm looking for fast....er.

Also anyone with experience with Goozex. What are the condition of the games you receive? I'm a big fan of MINT Complete games. Anyone ever have a problem with receiving beat to hell games?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

If you are willing to agree to send the game back, you would not be responsible for the return shipping costs. You can ask for that from the other user. It is always best when parties work out situations such as this.

In any event, once again you can only leave negative feedback if the disc is unplayable.

So if I did decide to send it back, would it be considered a canceled trade? I have played about 20 minutes in and havent had a problem, but who knows when it could freeze or give an error.

If you aren't having a problem with the disc, then give a +5 feedback and be done with it. If you two decide to do a return and he agrees to pay for return postage, which is not his obligation to do so, then once he receives the return...he can then initiate a cancellation. Again, this seems as if a +5 feedback is best apt for the situation.

True dat. I joined just over a week ago and I've already received Indigo Prophecy-Xbox and Zelda:TP is on it's way to me now. I've been unloading games on average of 1 a day since I joined. Plus, these are games that have sat on my TL here for months, some a couple of years and have had zero interest.

I think you'll be fine anyway - it sounds like the surface was possibly just "refinished". There were a couple stores that used to do this with PS1 games and I was always terrified they wouldn't play but I never had a problem.

Last month I had several (about 6) trades time out and I had about 150 feedback (15 trades). I think it has more to do with people just not wanting to trade (maybe because of the point value) the game for some reason. I know I didn't accept a trade once because when I tested it after it was requested (I should have tested it before, it was my cousin's game and it had a few scratches on it) it wouldn't work.

You should try to PM them. If you try that a few times and they don't respond, then unfortunately the only thing you can do is just wait. Eventually the trade will timeout and you'll automatically receive positive feedback. It sucks, but I don't think there's any way around that.

I was on the other end of a transaction where I was suppose to received the game, but the trader never sent it. They strung me along too, saying they had been sick and were going to send it out the next day, but they never did and they didn't respond to further PM's. I waited anyway, and eventually I got a message from goozex saying that if I didn't leave feedback the trade would automatically be closed within 3 days (at the time) with positive feedback given. So at that point I had to give negative feedback. I wasn't going to risk forgetting and ending up screwed. I never heard from the trader again, but I did get my points back. Unfortunately that trade occurred during the free trades month, so I didn't get a trade credit back, but that meant I was going to have to spend a trade credit, when I didn't have to before. It all worked out in the end, though, as when I re-added it to my queue, the point value on the game had dropped by 50. I was again matched (and I verified it wasn't the same trader!!) So it ends up cheaper, even with me having to use a trade credit.

70 people are ahead of you to get that game. But not every single one will have enough points and/or trade credits to get that certain game which means you should get it faster if you are ready. Click the title of the game and then click "Trading Info"

I'm sure this question has been asked before , and I'm not sure if anyone here can actually answer it, but what's the deal with the point value for a lot of the older games (Last gen and older). I understand that point values for games are supposed to be based partly on supply and demand issues , but there must be more to it than that , otherwise why does it seem like a bunch of older games I have in my request list have really low point values , yet have no people offering them and tons of people asking for them (the most obvious one for me that comes to mind is Metal Gear Solid : The twin Snakes. around 70 people are requesting it , 10 people have it on hold , and its point value is only 300).

Also a easier question , the slip that it says to print out and put in with your game when you mail it , do you HAVE to print the slip out and include it with the game , or is it simply recommended?

It's just recommended.

I like it as the top half is a mailing label, and I like just taping/gluing that on my bubble mailer vs. writing the address as I have terrible handwriting. Plus, I figure it doesn't hurt having the slip in their as a reminder to the buyer to leave feedback ASAP so you get your points.

If it times out (he doesn't respond in time), it'll match you with the next available before bumping you back to the list. For me, it ends up retrying with the same guy a few times and things work out. He can decline, but it'll put him back to the end of the list trying to get rid of it.

I'm having the worst look for Test Drive Unlimited and Quake 4, I have now gone through multiple timeouts with no match.

Sometimes games that have a lot of copies available will have some people that tried the site out, wasn't there cup of tea, and they moved on without closing there account. Other times some people just forget to check the site. I feel for you though, it has happened to me on numerous occasions and, in fact, two of the four requests I have now will probably timeout. At least you'll get some of those forgotten sellers out of the way for me when I order test drive. ;)

If he doesn't respond, the match will countdown to 0 hours and begin the cycle one more time. If he doesn't respond by then, it will move on to the next seller in line. When you get matched for the game you have the option of choosing to ship it out in 1 or 3 days, or choose to decline the trade and insert your offer back in line after a set amount of time.

Rarity and collectors. I remember when I did a lot of flipping of games from Gamestop on the Amazon marketplace, MGS:TS was one of my regular titles. I could get it for $18 at GS (less during B2G1 Free) and sell it on Amazon for $30+

300pts = $15

Some games are more likely to be held onto by collectors and/or are more rare. MGS:TS is moderately hard to find.

I mean, FFVII for the PS1 is now 2 generations old but costs as much as a new game, doubt you'd see many people offering it on Goozex.

Aside from that, about how long does it usually take to get an offer on a game? Call of Duty 2 says I have 57 turns left to go...is that how many people are in front of me before my copy is offered to someone?

Isn't it possible that the game would play but then at a later part in the game (say near the end or so) it wouldn't work do to a mark or something. What would you do then?

Anything is possible. Before you play a game to see if a game is playable, take a good look at the underside of the game disc. You should be able to determine if the disc has been rendered unplayable whether to start the game or near the end of the game by a careful examination of the game disc. A friendly PM to the other user inquiring about the disc's playability in spite of the scratches will also prove helpful in your determination, so long as you are also cognizant of the user's trading history.

I hate waiting on feedback to be able to send more out. I'll be glad when my feedback is higher so I don't have to worry about it as much. I have 3 games out at the moment. 1 was delivered yesterday (no feedback yet), 1 shipped yesterday and 1 shipped today. Obviously I don't have feedback from the last 2, but I have more stuff that can go out looking at the trade info on the games that I have. I need him to leave me feedback so I can send the next one out. :bomb: At least after 2 more +10 feedbacks come in, I can have 5 out at a time. Though I'm running low on games that I want to trade now.

I also can't decide if I want to put my Final Fantasy 7 up there. I have a sealed GH version of it that I picked up a couple of years ago with the plan to play through the game again. Obviously, I haven't touched it since buying it and I have a severe backlog of games at the moment as it is. It's tempting to unload it for 1000 points and pick up a couple of newer games, however I do love FF7 and would love to play it again one day. /sigh...

Since it's sealed you would be better served selling it on eBay and using the money to buy new games. You'd be able to get a pretty decent amount for it even though it's GH.

I'm having the same problem. The first 2 games I sent out were to new users and I'm wondering if they just don't know how the system works yet.

Would it be considered rude to send them messages asking to send feedback as soon as possible? I don't want to piss anyone off, but I really want to be able to send out more games.

Everyone is different. I wouldn't be offended, but some people feel rushed to play and check the game. Some of us send friendly PMs as reminders to leave feedback. Also bear in mind that not everyone will acknowledge a PM either.

Rarity and collectors. I remember when I did a lot of flipping of games from Gamestop on the Amazon marketplace, MGS:TS was one of my regular titles. I could get it for $18 at GS (less during B2G1 Free) and sell it on Amazon for $30+

300pts = $15

Some games are more likely to be held onto by collectors and/or are more rare. MGS:TS is moderately hard to find.

I mean, FFVII for the PS1 is now 2 generations old but costs as much as a new game, doubt you'd see many people offering it on Goozex.

I understand that and that is exactly my point. I have to agree with djkunai about this one , if in the case of MGS:TS you have so many people that want it but nobody offering it , then wouldn't the logical thing be to increase it's point value to get more people to offer it? I mean the thing being 300 points is probably one good reason (of several) that nobody wants to offer the game. If the value went up , more people would offer the game. Inversively less people would probably want the game because of the higher value but couldn't part of the reason so many people are requesting it be because of it's cheap point value in the first place?

In not trying to rock the boat or anything , it just seems strange that you have high point games that nobody really wants and too many people are offering , and low point games that everyone wants but nobody is offering.

I'm enjoying Goozex so far but there is definitely room for improvement. I completely agree with your point, StarKnightX. Someone else pointed out that they should be a way to post whether a game is GH/PH/PC. Some people just don't want those (me included). I had another point but I forgot it. Crap. I think goozex is a great site. I've been a member for a few months now, and have traded away a few games I wasn't playing, or already beat, or just didn't like. It kind of stinks for trading away some older psx games, because the point totals usually are garbage, though people want those games. I have a decent amount of rpgs that were not sold later, but would hate to see them go for just like 200 points. It's great for trading away more current generation system games though. I would personally recommend it, but be sure to check if a game is avaliable or such, cause you may never see the game(I have had ar tornelico in a queue request forever....but yeah I don't think i'll ever get it).

This site has been a godsend for PC games. I've shipped off 4 old PC games that I hadn't touched in a while. You can't trade them in at gamestop, and I've had minimal luck selling them on my own(on here or anywhere else). Dealt Victoria, Rome: TW, Great Civil War, and Sim City IV. Now I'm about to get a free copy of Warhawk for the equivalent of 4 games that I probably wouldn't touch much at all.

I signed up Tuesday and immediately sent out Outlaws for the PC and Baldur's Gate:Dark Alliance for the GC, 2 games that had consumed a total of 15 minutes of my time in the past. On the one hand, spending almost $3 to get $5 worth of points is a little pointless; OTOH ,like my wife said, it keeps them out of the landfill.

I guess it depends on the game. For example, I see that there are a shit ton of Metroid Prime Corruptions and Paper Marios on the trading block but not many takers. People probably hang onto games like rainbow 6 becuase of the multiplayer. Nintendo games are pretty much done once completed.

Same here. I have a question that I'm sure lurknomore can answer. Since I haven't got enough points for a game to be sent to me yet, I was wondering: Do your trade requests get initiated automatically when you have enough points? Or, as the recipient, do you have to "click" on a link to initiate a trade? I'm worried about games going out to people automatically who don't want them, like the user who got a game 5 days ago and won't respond to any messages from me about feedback. Did they actively request this game or did it just show up in their mailbox one day becuase it was on their list and they had enough credits?

Hmm. Maybe it is that I did them about the same time. But I've got two positives in the hole, and a 3rd one I'm waiting for positive feedback to get my 300 points.

Question: I've got enough points to get Warhawk on here. However, it says that the game doesn't come with the Headset. Is the headset imperative to being able to play Warhawk? I have not played the game so I'm honestly not sure. I've got 800 points and everyone that is requesting is on hold so I could get it now, just not sure about that.

The Headset is not required for gameplay in Warhawk, at least from my earlier experience. You can use any bluetooth headset/headpiece, and please correct me if I am wrong...but can't you also use a USB headset? Again, not imperative for gameplay...much like any online experience.

Ok, great. I know it's not required, but I knew Warhawk was an online-based game so I thought it might have higher importance for this game. I don't have a headset so that would be added expense for me.

To answer your question, it is as you "fear", as a passive experience for the receiver. But if you look at it another way, that is the magic of Goozex...set it and forget it. I understand the frustrations of being tied to receiving feedback, but the more experience that you bank...you will then receive your points upon a match, but you can see this for the best for the entire community when dealing with new traders. Some other thoughts about feedback are that feedback not only requires that the game safely arrive but the receiver must be allowed some time to give the disc/cart a spin to check on playability. Not all of us can jump on our systems the day a game is received.

Two suggestions: give them a few days after the day the D.C. states the package was delivered. Send a polite PM saying that the game shows as delivered and if they would kindly leave feedback. Give a few more days, and if there is no response....and you are growing impatient, you can send an email to feedback at goozex.com. Bear in mind that no PM response does not mean anything, as many users do not use the PM system on Goozex. Also, keep in mind that this new promo has brought in many new users who don't quite understand the system or understand the need to promptly leave feedback. Patience is key with Goozex.

Worst case scenario: the feedback system will timeout and automatically give positive SYSTEM feedback after 21 days without feedback.

There is a great thread on how to save on shipping on their forums. Yeah, you probably will see it as a lot of shipping if you are trading a lot of 100 point games...but remember it works both ways as well heh. If you rather have cheaper point games then it will cost you nothing but a dollar...so it kinda evens out :D

Yep, that's the way you have to look at it. Otherwise the 100 point games aren't worth trading since 100 points are $5 and shipping is around $2-2.50 with bubble mailer cost, first class postage and delivery conf.

I don't really care as I'm just happy to get rid of old games I'll never play (especially Gamecube games since I ditched my Wii). Would probably do a couple bucks better trading to Gamestop, but not worth breaking my boycott of them. :D

It means there are 65 people in front of you. Though a lot of them may not have the points, may have the game on hold, or may not be in your trading region so you will most likely not have to wait that long.

If you look on the game's page, down at the bottom is a link called "Trading Info". Click that for more detailed info on the availability of a game.

Right. They have to be willing to send the game. I, like many others put games in that Im still playing and incase I lose interest they are available if someone else wants it. Goozex is not a "get what you want when you want it". You put your games up and tell them what you want and when you get what comes up. Its kinda like a mystery item except you know its gunna be something you want.

Likely how I got rid of my Wave Race: Blue Storm title. Thought I'd be sitting on it for ages, but it only took four or five days after I listed it before someone wanted it.

Joined recently and am sent out my third game today. None of the games I want are available for me to have yet, but hopefully I'll get one sent to me sometime this coming week. I need a game game to play. I've got too many pick up and play games for my Wii.

Question , I just got matched up for a game in my requests list , but before I noticed it had been matched I just finsished purchasing the same game off another site. Is the anyway I can cancel the request other than sending a pm to the person I was matched with saying I no longer want the game? What would be the best way to go about it?

Well, the "regions" are US, Bermuda, and Canada. See here (http://goozex.com/trading/asp/myaccount_tradingcountries.asp).

Thanks. I wonder if USPS delivers to Bermuda. It'd be nice to increase my options, even if just a little bit.

PM the person and ask them if they have shipped yet and if not you can hit cancel trade. If they have, then I would try and cancel your purchase.

I've traded over 150 times...and despite the fact that there are more than a handful of Bermudans in the Goozex universe, I have never had a trade with an islander. Further, I have not heard of anyone else who has ever traded there via Goozex.

There's no DC on FCMI (First Class Mail International). There is tracking on PMI (Priority Mail International), EMI (Express Mail International), and GXG (Global Express Guaranteed) but those are pricey.

DC isn't really needed once you ship a few games successfully anyways as if a game gets lost in the mail goozex doesn't take the points from the seller, at least that's what I heard on their forum, I don't from experience.

This is why the "passive" matching for recipients should be changed. The recipient should have to confirm a match, then the sender should confirm their agreement to send. Then things like this wouldn't happen.

If I'm out shopping and buy a game and I automatically get matched and don't find out until I get home later that night, I get stuck with two copies of a game and a loss of my points.

To update my situation , everything worked out fine. When I checked the site this morning the user had agreed to the deal. I submitted a cancelation for the trade and sent him a pm explaining the situation. About an hour or two later , he confirmed the cancelation and I was already matched up with my next game.

On a related note , the new game I was matched up with was accepted in like an hour , which compared to the first couple games which went nearly to timeout , is refreshing. On the other hand , my request for NHL 2001 has timed out once already , which considering I think I'm the only person requesting the game , I'd think they'd gladly want to trade it out.

He could , but what if , like in my case , the one you got from the store was a better deal than the point value equivilent on goozex?

In my case , the game had a 450 point value (or about $22.50). I managed to get it from play-asia from there weekly special (theres the answer for anyone curious about what the game in question was) for about $12.50 shipped. So if I returned/canceled my order at playasia I'd be out about $10 worth of points from goozex for the same exact game.

Sometimes that's not really convenient. It seems much easier to make the recipient confirm his "purchase" than to let it all happen automatically.

Say you have 2 games on your request list and they are 200 and 500 points, respectively. You have 500 points and really want game #2 first, but you are automatically matched to the 200 point game and now only have 300 points and can't get the 500 point game.

Should you put all other games on hold until you get the one you want? Depending on the game it could take months, or even a years to get it. Being able to confirm a choice before having it sent to you seems like a more reasonable way to let you shop for your choices while building more points and waiting for other games to become available.

What system are you wanting NHL 2001 for? I have it for PS2. I was going to put it up on Goozex, but I saw like 13 were ready and no one was really requesting it, so I figured why bother. I just put it up there, but I doubt that you'd make it through the 13 others to get to me. lol

I agree with you. I've only been using Goozex for a couple of weeks now, but I've placed lower point stuff on hold to insure that I got the game that I wanted the most first.

Of course, the way the do it now kind of speeds up the process by not requiring both people to confirm it. There are good points and bad points to each side of it.

Yeah , for the PS2. When I was adding games to my request list and I added NHL 2001 to the list , it said first in line. I was suspious so I checked the trading info and sure enough , about 15 full package copies ready to trade , and one lone request for a full package game , mine.:)

And before anyone makes the suggestion why not get it at GS , you could probably get it there for next to nothing , which is true (I picked up Madden 2002 , 2003 , and 2004 there for a buck each) but the only old sports games my local GS has are madden. Well, if it makes it to mine, it'll get confirmed and shipped fast. I check Goozex several times a day. I'm still waiting feedback from the 3rd game that I sent out, I'm thinking that is going to make it to the 21 day time out before the system gives me the credit. It got sent out before I received feedback for my 2nd game, so I'm still waiting on these points. I've sent out 2 more games since and have already received the feedback from them.

I didn't say goozex couldn't do to change their system a bit.
Personally I'd love to see a "Max Points" feature that would put a game on hold if the points were above a certain point, or took a game off hold if it went below.

If this is the second time you've been matched up with him and he declines the trade again , then it will be taken out of his library/put on hold for trading. Since you said nobody else has the game for trade , then I'd guess the system would look for the next game to match for you.

There were 8 people with cd only and that's all I need since I owned it a long time ago. I'm on my 3rd person trying to get a pair for this game.

I'm loving this site despite my negative comments about it. I've listed and disposed of 4 games that I had no interest in playing again. I'm getting Risk, possibly Second Opinion, and looking at a few others. It's nice to have an option for all of those old games, particularly PC games that have no other market to sell.

Here's a quick question, from someone who's never really did much internet selling/swapping: should you give the recipient of your game the Delivery Confirmation number so they can track it? I would think it's rather pointless to do that, since it only tells you if it's been accepted at the place it was shipped from, and then that it's delivered -- which is worthless to you as the recipient since you'll find that out when it arrives.

I kinda wish that the "Approval/Denial" period could be shortened. I have been waiting for a game to be approved for the last week and a half. I'm kinda tired of the slackasses that joined to get a free game and such. If you know you're not going to be a part of the community then don't add to your library only to let others' requests go unanswered.

End Rant.

I know it's a 26 hour period. The problem is that I have been matched multiple times and nobody is responding to it. That's why I was suggesting that it be shorter than that window. There is a reason for vacation mode and holding items. It's to prevent situations like this. Those of us who actually use it as a means of trading usually pay attention to our Goozex emails would benefit from a shorter window. I had a guy accept the trade only to email 3 days later telling me that he forgot that he gave it to a friend. Why did it take him 3 days to realize that he didn't have it anymore?? Like I said it was a gripe not a blast on Goozex.

Eh, well, I got one of those new users who seems to have only joined to get a game for free. I'm glad I sent out a rather valueless game - disc only Shadow of Destiny in a jewel case in the Goozex mailer. The user doesn't respond to PMs and hasn't made any other trades, in or out, and my game was delivered to them a week ago. Ah well. You get them instantly when you are the seller (trader) and only you have to accept that, the buyer (recipient) has no say in it.

If you're getting request rejected, the points don't transfer.

To those newbies and such, ALWAYS ADD DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.

I had a guy send me a PM asking where his game was, and it had arrived at his place two weeks earlier. I gave him the number so he could check things out - it turned out his wife had it and didn't tell him, heh.

If people start saying that you never sent the game, the delivery confirmation number should be enough to prove it got delivered (or at least shed doubt on their credibility.)

I've gotten seven positive trades (two of which were automatic due to lazy traders), and have three games out. Now if only they lowered the cost of God of War II. :( I'll pay 400 points, but not 750.

Oh, I have a HUGE issue with the system, and it's that I can't block certain traders. I had a game up for trade for a while, but I kept getting matched to a particular user who scammed me over at GameTZ. He got booted off the site in December but he's still getting and sending games there. I got matched with him twice, and don't want to deal with him ever again, so I just removed the game. :( Dammit, it was a 250 point game too...)

Or it could be that the game didn't -come- with a printed manual. A lot of PC games don't have any, opting instead to include a PDF file in the game discs. I have Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude Uncut, and it didn't include a manual in the box. If he marked it as a full package, then maybe when he bought the game it didn't include a manual, but I'm assuming it was a PC game, not a console game. :)

Rule of thumb: If something's missing, always ask first. Don't give anyone a neg right away. Give the guy a chance to fix the problem.

?

You get them instantly when you are the seller (trader) and only you have to accept that, the buyer (recipient) has no say in it.

If you're getting request rejected, the points don't transfer.

I was speaking on behalf of a seller--if they are checking out someone's info before accepting to send and they choose to reject based on what they see. For myself, I'll send wherever now that I've traded enough to get the points as soon as I accept it.

Kitsune - What 250 pt game were you looking for? Maybe one of us on here can help you out.

No, I was supposed to send out a 250 point game. I just don't want that scammer to get any more of my games. Hell, knowing him and the way he reacted to my complaint, he'd probably give me a negative out of spite.

I signed up last night and traded 2 games right away. I went through my collection last night and added a bunch more too.

Yeah, I'm having great success so far as well. 4 positive feedbacks with one still pending and 2 more games going out tomorrow. Not a bad first week!

Have two games on the way to me as well.

If you have a Walgreen's nearby, they have bubble envelopes (paper, not plastic) on sale this week 3 for $1. You need the coupon that's in the ad but they should have some ads in the store. The 6x9 size is perfect for shipping single games.

I've had some problems with some Games fitting easily in a 6x9 case, mainly gamecube games. They'll go in but it took a while to shove them in and I ripped one envelop in the process.

I found some 7.5 x 9.5 bubble mailers at Office Depot, they're a much easier fit. But they were pricier than that, box of 25 for $19.99.

Try changing the condition of the game from complete to disc+manual or disc only. It won't match him if he wants a complete copy, but you'll still be able to match someone else if there are requests for that condition.

i keep asking goozex to add case + game as an option. It seems like that is more valuable that game + Manual

I think I might pick up some then. I don't use bubble envelopes though, I've been using simple brown wrapping paper, which has always been good to me when shipping items, but just in case.. =d
