UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO COMMENTS:
1) Games are YELLOW TAGGED with %OFF, ring at regular price, and have to be overridden by a manager at the register.
2) This is STORE-BY-STORE, and BIG YMMV, it is not regional as many BB have similar clearance.
3) I added gmes purchased RECENTLY at DIFFERENT BB stores to my list.
4) Calling will NOT get you anywhere. It's NOT a nationwide sale, it is indvidual store clearance of stale products.
5) ASK AN ASSOCIATE/MANAGER where the clearance games are, OR look around OR or try a different BB. It's not always obvious.
6) New titles may be added monthly to ongoing clearance bins in your store.
7) Titles/prices are representative of what others have found, NOT what you will find.
8) ANY Collector's Editions typically go 50% off in a few months, making them cheaper than the 'plain' version (so much for added value)
9) LOOK FOR BINS BY THE REGISTERS, but they could be anywhere in the store, usually separate from the regular games.
10) GOOD games typically have only 1-3 copies in the bin and likely sold out before you got there (i.e. VF5, Jean De Arc, Rock Band).
11) Typically 50 or more titles in bins, most of it crap, but very few sports games! (at least in Mission Viejo, CA)
12) YOUR STORE MAY NOT DISCOUNT AT ALL, MAY NOT DISCOUNT ANY GAMES IN THIS LIST, OR MAY ONLY DISCOUNT 10%!
13) STOP THREAD CRAPPING! STOP TRADING! If your BB sucks I am sorry for you, BB generally suck. Try to become the Media manager.
14) ADD your local store finds to this thread to keep it going.

Im a BB employee.. I feel I need to say this.. again..

ALL BEST BUY CLEARANCE VIDEO GAME PRICES ARE UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE MEDIA SUPERVISOR. They often are not reflected in more than one store unless multiple stores in the same district decide to follow suit (rarely happens).

This also only happens to games called "End-Of-Life". These End of Life items mean BestBuy will no longer be receiving shipments of them. Once an item goes End of Life they have 90 days left in the store. And then BB sells the items back to the manufactor at an extremely low price. Therefore, it is in Best Buys best interest to get these items out of the store as quick as possible, even if they only make 50 cents on a sale. Its more money than they would get if they were to ship it back.

When a store has a giant inventory, they will make it as cheap as 14.99. If a store only has a few copies, then they will leave it at the retail price. Or if the Media Supervisor doesnt want to do anything with it (sometimes they dont want to mark it down.. every Sup is different) they will just leave it.

Therefore: EXTREMELY HUGE YMMV. Don't get your hopes up usually with this.

@robot: I had time crisis 4, ended up selling it. Graphics are so-so, arcade mode is pretty fun but the guncon's calibration is a bit off, better with the controller (which defeats the purpose of having the guncon). Single player mode I got motion sickness from playing it, so I never finished it. It's not worth it to me, the older ones were much better. Or better yet, play at the arcade.

I've noticed that Bestbuy's new policy is to have YMMV sales in the boondocks and have people post deals in all the online savings sites like this one and have people scramble to their stores only to be left empty handed. I'm not falling for this shit anymore BB. Only national deals for me. these YMMV deals are the equivalent of spending a half hour driving to buy a lottery ticket that you aren't even guaranteed to win.

Again, it depends on your store and how much they will mark it down, if at all. If they aren't in any hurry to get rid of Gamecube games/systems, then expect to see that for a long time.

They didn't have much. It was almost entirely bad DS stuff. Scourge: Hive for $10 seemed like the only real deal (I don't know if it's good or not, but at least it sounds like they were trying to do a good game with it).

I work at Best Buy in the Media Department. The reason why it is so YMMV does not necessarily depend of just the Media Sup.. The only games that go on clearance are the ones that are "End-Of-Life" (as was stated early meaning either we sell them or we send them back for scraps). These items depend on what market that Best Buy is in (similar to the Target Clearances) if in that market the games sell well at there normal prices or sell out then it does not make it to the report (which is the case at my store) other stores are in poor gaming markets and that were you see the huge clearance sections with great games (uncommon). Also as for the Media Sup.'s decision I can say that is not always the case. On Sunday I was handed the report by my GM (did not say to do anything in particular) so I determined which games to put out and what the price was going to be. Being a gamer as well I marked them down a bit more than what was the norm (norm = 50% off). Though since my store sells games well we only had about 8 games with nothing to fantastic. Either way I figured I would let you know what happens in my area.

EDIT: Also because I just read people dont know what exactly is considered clearance (how to determine if). Most of the time there is a table, Endcap or Cart (if the store is really slack). Most of the time the price on the box has some sort of marking or give (at my store its a special marker used to slash over the price tag). Hope that helps.

So I passed by my Best Buy looking to snag a copy of FFXI for the 360. (Phoenix, Arizona 99th Ave & Mcdowell)
Which they had quite a few copies of in the bin. Also, it's not just the original FFXI, it also includes all of the expansions.

It seemed all of the games in the bin were 30% off, not 50%. Also it had to be overrided by a manager.

I saw one copy of Jericho for the PS3 in there, didn't snag it mainly because I have it for the 360.

Well in the Phoenix, AZ area. I stopped at the Best Buy on Bell Rd. & 101, all they had were DS, PS2 and Xbox games, nothing extrodinary though. The bins were scattered around the game area.

Best Buy on Mcdowell & 99 Ave has a small bin with mainly 30% off. 360 (The Darkness, Jericho, Two Worlds, Final Fantasy XI (with ALL expansions), PS3 (Fantastic Four and I saw ONE copy of Jericho), PS2 (Bunch of Misc. games, DS (Lot of those Petz and Horsez games) and a handful of PSP games.

Ive never came across a CC that didnt clearance game, although MANY never marked down the prices on the games... making these the BEST CC's to hit during clearance sales. Memories of a stop by a CC in Hattiesburg where I netted about 40 games paying under $100 for all... good times... obviously didnt play all of them or even open them, but sold off enough from what I didnt open to make a tidy profit and make the games I kept essentially free

I found Aedis Eclipse (PSP) for $14.99 and Orcs & elves (DS) for $9.99 at my best buy that i goto in S.Attleboro, MA. They were marked down but rang at regular price, had a manager override since they had the stickers on it saying "Now $14.99" so the kid probably screwed up, as they were the only copies of them in a bin they had next to one of their computers in the store. So maybe i lucked out. Granted aedis eclipse is confusing as hell but hey for $14.99 for an NIS game is a good deal to me. For those saying games are ringing up full price for them, the Best Buy I bought my games from had the games in a bin with the clearance prices marked. When rung up they would ring up at there normal prices, and the manager would have to override it. So not saying its true for everything, but if you bring a game up there just off the shelf...I wouldnt expect it to ring up at clearance price. If you dont have a clearance bin, its probally a no go.

Seems like a lot of retail stores adjust prices based on the community. In the areas here where people spend more money, prices are higher than the poorer areas. Also, there are far fewer clearance sales, and when there are clearance bins, a lot of the people don't even look in the bins at the richer stores. But at the poorer stores, many head for the clearance bins first, then go home empty-handed and look at Ebay and sigh as they get outbid by the rich cheap bastard with the faster internet connection.

I find better "Every Day" deals at mom and pop and smaller video game stores than at the big, obvious places. There's a family-owned store near me that sells new PS3 games at $55. Two days ago, they already had Dark Sector used for $40, which the guy ahead of me bought. They had that Viking game for $40, too. They might hold onto that one for a little while.

Don't be surprised if you never get any clearance items.

Best Buy clearances, it seems, is manager specific. Some clearance stuff out, some don't. I happen to live in a city where the average person will buy anything at best buy for any price, so I rarely see clearance deals.

I have two Best Buys near me. They're only a couple of miles apart, so the communities they serve cannot possibly be very different.

Best Buy #1 used to offer fantastic deals. $5 and $10 games -- and good ones, too. Just excess inventory really priced to move. The deals were so good that I would invent reasons to drive out of my way to stop by this Best Buy. Just to check.

But now? They still have the game table, but most games are $35. They're still trying to move $30 Folklore and $35 Jericho after nobody has bitten for almost two months. Not only have they gotten stingy, they've gotten stupid.

The other Best Buy never used to clearance anything. Not once in all the years I've been here did they ever have any of the clearance sales mentioned here.

Now, for the first time, they did this very 50% off sale. Huge bins, tons of games, all 50% off. Most of it crap, but at least it's cheap crap.

What changed? Only the managers.

If Best Buy has a markdown, then it's chain wide and it will ring up at the discounted price no matter what.

But these are clearance items, which are at the manager's discretion. Most stores don't even update the prices in the system and use stickers and manager overrides.

So, if yours says $60, it will ring up at $60.

Unless your Best Buy keeps the games in a cage, though, you could always bring it to customer service and ask for a price check.

I know neither is a huge deal but I was able to pick up the Platinum Hits editions of Crimson Skies for $5 and Halo 1 for $10 at the Downtown Honolulu Best Buy.

There was no 50% off section but there were bargain racks in the games section and in the register line and the XBox sections were advertised as being 360 compatible.

I actually picked up Stranglehold at that price at that location :)... I was able to get Guitar Hero II bundle for 25.55... it rang up at $47.99, they took 50% off of that.

The real Guitar Hero II bundle deal was in Mankato, MN.... $15.99

Happened by the Overland BB in Culver City this weekend: I picked up Monster Madness for $6.99 and Project Sylpheed for $11.99, both for 360. They also had a bunch of older 360 sports games, Rampage Wii, and a bunch of other things in an inconspicuous yellow bin in the aisle by the PSP/PS3 games.

And yes, they needed to overwrite the prices at the register. And no, my 10% off coupon didn't work on them.

I doubt that Conan would be $20 at either of my local BB stores for PS3, but I'd be shocked if it were. It looks like a decent enough God Of War clone, so I may pick it up if it is $20, since otherwise, I'd have to pick it up from GS used for $25.

Oh and Halo 3 Legendary MAY ring up $19.99 for some. It's been verified online in the Lawrence, KS store(from Slick Deals). Supposedly, the guide will ring up .01 if you buy it WITH the game/helmet bundle.

As always YMMV, but I'm going to try and check my closest store tomorrow.

For all you DFW CAG's I was at the Best Buy off 635 by The Dump(Furniture Store) and came across a decent deal. The store had 25% off certain 360/Wii/PS3 titles (50% off Xbox), but if you bought any game accessory you got one of the 25% off games for $10. Now there is no sign posted with this deal I was told by an employee and it was confirmed by another employee who works specifically in Video Games section. My wife said she saw the actual print out that had either 25% off or $10 w/ accessory purchase. The girl that worked in video games walked me around pointing out clearance accessories, which was shocking because most employees would push controllers or high dollar accessories. Any ways here is what I scored:

Wii Power Save 512 MB SD Card - $8.49 + Kane & Lynch - $10
WiiMote NFL Controller Skins Accessory Pack - $8.49 + Turning Point - $10

This 'manager's section ' is in the middle of the store on a table in between games and DVD's.

At the Best Buy on S. Tryon near Ft. Mill, but still in Charlotte, They had a very meager selection right at the checkout, right in the middle of them, so it is hard to browse but I got Elite Beat Agents for $15. They also had Parappa the Rapper for PSP and then mostly PS2/Xbox360 games that didn't look any good. The only PS3 game was MLB 2007: The Show, not sure what price it was though. There also wasn't anything for Wii. Yeah, and there were like 6 copies of Final Fantasy V for the GBA.
