Last time I went to CC they didn't have the game available at 2 pm, it was still in their shipment boxes, so they made me wait while they unpackaged them. Would this be sufficient to get a free gift card in the future if that happened?

CC is notoriously bad for getting games out on the day they're supposed to. You will likely have to hound the customer service desk to find it because they won't put it out on the shelves most likely and it will be either at the customer service desk or somewhere in the back still sealed up.

I believe CC has stopped advertising the gift card with big games if they're not out on time for this exact reason. They were giving out hundreds of gift cards nationwide. Now they just say "out by X" like Best Buy does.

I chose the Express shipping for $10.99 and after taxes it came to $64.64, less than I would pay for it in the store after taxes... Usually you can return things within 7 days. Or just say it was defective or something and you want to return it. Tell them you don't mind getting credit toward a future purchase and they'll be more willing to trade it in knowing you'll still spend money at their store. Just call and give it a try.

Just got back from Blockbuster (where I work at). We just got in the framed art. It is actually really nice. I was expecting one of those cheap plastic frames, but its a black wooden frame around 3/4" thick. I believe it was glass, not plastic, on the front as well. The picture itself is alright, a little low quality. But compared to other preorder bonuses, I really do think it is one of the best.

My Gamestop is small, but the way they handled the Halo 3 launch was that you showed up early and hung out, played Halo 2, etc. and during that time you go to the register and pay in full. They gave me a receipt with a stamp/mark on it and the line started forming about 11. I was at least 100 people back, but what they did was opened the door at midnight and took you in 5 at a time. They check the receipt, hand you your version (reg, special, cat helmet) and push you out the door. I'm not kidding when I say they put 200+ people through in less than half an hour this way. I would assume to expect something similar.

The only tip is get there early and have fun. It's a giant geek party! :)

I went to CC and they said you can't reserve it in store and that you have to do it online. Like I pasted above; doing it online makes it so you have to ship it which will take a week. They knew nothing about in store gift cards.

Has anyone actually reserved a copy at CC? The one near me only got about 30 copies and about 10 of them were already hidden away for employees.

I ordered GTA 4 Collectors for the 360 from amazon, with overnight prime shipping for a total of $93.98. Best deal in my opinion because I just ordered it yesterday and I love amazon. Oh and that free license plate isn't too shabby :)

Alright, the new sunday ad was just posted on their website and it says in stores Tuesday, don't know why they said 4/30/08 before. I also just checked the new "GET YOUR GAME ON AT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD RADIOSHACK" ad and it also shows the $10 gift card deal with purchase, IN STORE ONLY. So now if CC doesn't have it, then I can just roll on down to Radioshack for the same deal. WHEW!

Also in the Radioshack ad, the Nyko power kit (same as play and charge kit) was listed at 40% off for $9.99, so that's something to get for free with the gift card.
