haven't bought one from there myself but I've only heard good things about Amazon for tvs. They usually have them for about $500 cheaper then B&M stores.
Here's a 1080p 52 inch samsung lcd for less then $2000
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LNT5265F-52-inch-1080p-HDTV/dp/B000NVEG8S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=audio-video&qid=1207615985&sr=1-1
The shippings free and Amazon's customer service is notoriously better then places like best buy.

There's really no need for a 1080p TV right now. 1080p broadcasting is at least a decade away so you'll be fine with a 720p. Unless you REALLY wanna play Gears of War or one of the other select few games that display in 1080.

Panasonic has awesome TV's. There's a 50' 720p at Circuit City for like $1,500 I believe. Plus their warranty includes in home service so you don't need to buy an extended one. Also if you care, this week on Panasonic TV's they are giving free Firedog services to help mount it in your house.
