"FEARnet: Are you aware that there is a petition online, signed by 18,000 people, requesting that you stop making movies?
Boll: Yeah, I know that. 18,000 is not enough to convince me.
FN: How many would it take?
Boll: One million. Now we have a new goal."http://www.petitiononline.com/RRH53888/petition.html
I dare say that this cause rivals that of Child's Play.
(Ok, not really, but I'm sure both aim to help alleviate the pain of some form of cancer.)
Update: Boll pretty much says "fuck you":
"I'm not a fucking retard like Michael Bay or other people running around in the business or Eli Roth making the same shitty movies over and over again," says Boll. "If you really look at my movies you will see my real genius you know, and if you go on May 23 on Postal you will see that I deliver a movie what nobody else delivered in the last 10 years, what is way better as all that social critic George Clooney bullshit what you get every fucking weekend."
Real Genius? Riiiiiiiiight. So anyway it looks like the petition is a bust, unless of course we use this comment to net 10 MILLION signatures! That'll show 'em. :)

Lets finish the fight!!!
End this man's reign of terror!
I haven't seen any of the movies, but I think it's hilarious he challenged his critics to boxing fights and won against five of them.

Let us not forget that he specifically chose the weak ones. There were some people (I think seanbaby, wanted to as well) that werent boxing trained, but because they were somewhat fit he wouldnt fight them.

Yes, Uwe Boll goes for and accomplishes the trifecta of human squander. Not only is he talent-less and arrogant, but he manages to pull of being a pussy quite well to top it all off. If petitions ever actually got anything done, I’d sign it in a heartbeat.

So I wonder how many of the people who have/will sign(ed) this petition have actually watched any of Boll's movies.
I mean, yeah, he sucks, but I seriously don't think that many people have even seen his shit, so they're really overreacting about things that shouldn't even affect them. It's just trendy to jump on the Boll-hate bandwagon.

Ya know, 50 Cent said he'd stop doing solo albums if Kanye West's new album sold more copies than his on the first day of release. West's album creamed 50 Cent's, and last I checked (which was just now, because I don't know jack shit about this shit music), 50 is planning an album for this summer.
Even if one million people gave a damn to sign the petition, Boll would never stick by it.

Boll is playing you. ANY publicity is good publicity. If no one talked about him at all, his career would be finished. Sadly, I think petitions like this will actually KEEP him around. If he made the terrible movies he makes and they preformed like they have been at the box office AND no one talked about him, studios wouldn't approach him with a ten foot boom mic.

It doesn't matter how little talent he has if the movies he directs continue to be profitable studios will continue paying him to direct.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time may have a shot.
Bruckheimer is producing.
Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as 'Pirates' [of the Caribbean] did with the theme park ride.

I used to have high hopes for Alice but it now looks like it'll be another pseudo-music video s sandwich.

I'm not signing. House of the Dead was b-movie comedic gold and well worth the penny I paid for it on Amazon.
I admit that ever since his films haven't even been funny bad though. Simply terrible, but I'm still hoping for a "return to form".

Bruckheimer...Ha, your "has a shot" is my "nail in the coffin".
I don't think we'll see a good video game movie for at least another decade. That is unless Peter Jackson is able to sort out the Halo mess...but that doesn't look too promising.

Wow looking at the comments are fucking hilarious.
Smallpox is better than Uwe Boll wrote:
If I bought a DVD of a Uwe Boll film and opened the box to find that, instead of the expected plastic disc, I had unleashed an endless wave of flesh eating parasitic insects who dived straight for my face, it would be slightly better value for money than seeing Alone in the Dark or House of the Dead. If any of the actors of said films had a shred of decency they would have hired a hit on him.
Germany gives birth to a new monster, Uwe Boll's films are so bad they make the Holocaust seem trivial by comparison, and has the potential to cause more harm. This man is a black hole on the world's economy and every person's career who works with him. There is a good chance that watching any of his films may render you sterile or give you cancer, the kicker being that the disease that you are 90% certain to get won't even have the decency to kill you before the end of the movie. I would be more than willing to sign his death warrant, but this will have to suffice for now.

Up to 100K now. That's certainly surprising. In other news, how the fuck did this guy get a doctorate and from where? That's got to be one shitty institution of higher learning (whether they gave it out as an honorary or because he earned it).

I seriously can't believe that it's still so trendy and bandwagon-y to bash on Uwe Boll, without knowing anything about him. As if it was seriously news or relevant anymore. Seriously, man, OOOOOLLLLLDDDDD.
The funny part is that, even though he's a shit director, he's actually a nice guy, in some ways. From what I've read in interviews (I've actually taken the time to read something about him other than the negative bandwagon articles and interviews that paint him as a retarded psychotic pugilistic asshole), he really does genuinely care about videogames, and wishes for good movies to be made from them. I don't think it's that he doesn't have the intention to make decent videogame movies, but just simply doesn't have the skill.

Agreed, I still think House of the Dead is still his best film.
His movies are comedic gold, it's great going to the theaters and seeing one of his films just to watch the look on peoples faces after the film is over.

Surprise? Look, I'm not really trying to defend the dude, as much as I'm just ridiculing idiots who jump on bandwagons, which is what 99% of Boll-haters are. He sucks, yeah, but so do people who jump on Internets Bandwagons.

A petition to stop this guy from making films based on game franchises that are virtually impossible to make into decent motion pictures? Really? I know it takes a couple seconds to 'sign', but aren't there better causes that this?
For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the guy intentionally makes horrible movies for three reasons: 1.) ironic 'hipsters' who live in the so-bad-it's-good mindset 24-7 and walk around perpetually in Mystery Science Theater 3000 critique mode, 2.) gamers who honestly are so accustomed to anemic narratives and acting that they wouldn't have it any other way and 3.) for a time, at least, he was exploiting European tax loopholes in certain countries where losing money on the film would actually make money for the studio/investors.
Also, from the trailers that I've seen, Postal looks to be funnier than at least half of the mainstream comedies Hollywood is pumping out these days. Ain't sayin' much, I know, but still...no Dan Fogler or beyond-redundant Will Ferrell-having-already-jumped-20-schoolbuses-full-of-sharks.

I'll also admit I want to see Postal, but I *HAVE* watched his other movies, I own both Bloodraynes even (Got 1 free, paid 5 bucks for 2) and they have all been AWFUL! I'm a person with the "its so bad its good" mindset, but its not so bad its good, its just bad. Troma films are so bad they are good. Uwe Boll films are just bad. I signed it a few days ago myself, but I don't see it getting enough, people are lazy.
Also, if he screws up Postal I think he should be exiled.

Well, I really think it has to do with the people being fed up of him making game's look stupid. And are worried about his constant purchasing of game rights.
And I also think it discourages other directors to make movies based on games because of the amount of bad reviews they get, when in fact it's just because Uwe is a terrible director.
Oh and Uwe is a douche. But, he's kind of funny cursing out everyone in the movie industry.
