You know, it's really hard to take the opinion of a person seriously when they turn down a free game console which has some of the most highly praised games on it this generation. As far as the Gold Box deal goes, if it's anything like last time, it will have a few decent deals which will go quick, and a few awful games that aren't worth getting. I'm not sure what other games they would put on sale for this one though.

Considering the game backlog on my Wii (MP3 from last time, half of SPM from this deal, possibly getting to respectable on Hard difficulty on GH3, eventually getting deep into Mercury), there are only a few games I would bite on. If they give me SMG for 35 or under, or Endless Ocean for 20 or less, or No More Heroes at the 25 point, I'll definitely take the plunge. I'd consider something on a decent deal for WarioWare or something from the early days of the Wii.

Are you sure that you're logged in...sometimes you'll get logged out of amazon, and then your selections won't show (obviously)...double check that you're name appears at the top of the page...it'll say Carlos's Amazon (or whatever your name is). Otherwise you might have to log in again.

Ya, that's what got me. Last time you had all of 1.8 seconds to grab a copy of most games before they sold out. I'm just sitting here watching Cabela's Big Game Hunter, barely make a move, lol. I did put GH3 in my cart, just in case that is the game. I heard people last time had the items in there cart ahead of time, and when the deal came up they were able to get it for that price. Since we're way off-topic because no one wants Big Game Hunter anyway and there's renewed interest in my heretical Wii-love, I'll elaborate. I have a spouse and children and a full-time job and as a result I have very limited free time (I don't game when the kids are awake). We're also on a single income right now while law school finishes up. Two things about the Wii made me pretty much dedicated to that console:

1. The game library is made up of many games that are quick fixes, easy to jump in and out of. Yes, there are games like this on the other systems, but that brings me to...
2. It's the controls, honestly. After holding various forms of traditional game pads for so long, the Wii controls thrill me. There are very few games on the Wii that I have not enjoyed thanks to the variety of control options. Yes, even crappy shovelware sometimes.

Beyond that, I knew if I accepted the gift of the 360 I would then be spending more money on games I wouldn't have time to play and potentially wouldn't enjoy as much as the ones I was already having such a good time with. I am a cheapskate, so I don't believe in paying for something like Live, and I just thought that someone else would get much more enjoyment out of the system than me and I didn't want it to go to waste.

I loved the idea of the Wii, loved Wii Sports, and the controller. But I had a couple reasons for getting rid of it. First, a dorm room is very small. It was hard to swing the controller around and play 2 player games. Second, at the time the game selection was crap. They keep throwing out these crap $20 games for kids. There are very few "older people" (not necessarily adult) games. Yeah there are SMG, SSBB, and Mario Kart to name a few but for every good game there are 5 games with a Z at the end.

I think the Wii is a great change for the industry and I'm glad to see Nintendo have great success. If it wasn't for the Wii I would probably say this would be the end for Nintendo and they would become a developer only.

From my experience, the Wii Zapper really does suck and make the games harder. Dunno about the Nyko Perfect Shot.

Well, I guess it should've been expected that this round of "deals" would turn out to be a disappointment. Most of the decent Wii games have already been offered for DotD or for the last "5 Wii games in a day" promotion. The only really good game they could've offered that they hadn't before is SSBB, but that just came out not long ago so they probably didn't want to sell it at a major discount yet.

I'm hoping they move on to "5 deals in 1 day" for the 360, PS3, DS, or PSP after this. There are a lot more worthwhile games for those systems which haven't already been on sale at Amazon that would fit a sale like this perfectly.

I wouldn't say disappointed. I believe Amazon's approach is realistic, bringing players games they may not normally buy and definitely, perhaps, not at MSRP.

As for offering Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and such, it also is realistic, matching competitors prices, even if temporarily. Amazon being the popular retailer they are, they don't need to drop the price more than the competition. The ebb and flow is to be expected. I would imagine that such sales as this are even good for the developer, as it brings interest to games that may be otherwise unheard of or widely overlooked.

I never play these sort of games, so I have to admit my standards are quite low. I did watch some gameplay videos of House of the Dead 2 & 3, and honestly, it creeps me out a little too much. Resident Evil games scare me and (after I dared to buy RE4 Wii, then returned it after seeing a woman's body impaled to a wall with a pitchfork) -- they upset me.

I can do Halo: shooting aliens is all well and good. Shooting decaying humanoids doesn't work for me as well. Just an individual preference.

The mono sound issue can depend on your setup, perhaps? When I was traveling a couple weeks ago, I hooked up my Wii and tried playing this game at a hotel on whatever crappy tv they supply in rooms. The sound was ridiculously bad and I didn't play more than a few songs before putting the game away, depressed.

I had just re-bought the game, as I had to sell my Wii and all games in December for money. I was thinking, "Wow, did it really sound that bad then?" I've gotten to play at my father's house a few times, and he has a 360 and the 360 version, but that's not to mention an incredible sound definition and a television that's likely half a month's salary for me.

When I returned home and hooked it up on my modest 27" flat screen with my couple foor-foot speakers, I was pleased. No, I don't believe the sound is as nice as the 360 version, but it isn't as bad as people say. I should likely send my copy of the game in for a sound fix, but I really can't part with it right now, having just gotten my Wii again.

From what I understand, the first sale was quite good. My Sims may be considered a "junk game" by you, but it is in the Sims property, so it likely gained attention on that alone.

Id bet lack of interest. Guitar hero is the only good one so far and even with the sale it may be too pricey for some people.

I'm not so sure it's so much a price issue as a market saturation issue. GHIII for the Wii was the best-selling version of the game. Likely, so many folks already own the game that there aren't as many folks leaping on this one.

For Nintendo, first and second party games have always garnered more interest. This sale being entirely third-party (with the exception of the Deal of the Day being Mario & Sonic), it just doesn't shine the same way to a lot of buyers.

i think the sale isnt moving as much because most people got their gh3 already through earlier deals and sales of it. i got in on the deal when toys r us had buy 2 get 1 free and also again when they had -$20 off the bundle.
