I kind of doubt a lot of people are going to get this but I just checked my email and I got a $5 off promotional coupon code good for any video game purchase from Amazon.com in a Atlus games newsletter.

I think I registered for their newsletter years ago when they had signups to get a free Disgaea artbook, and now I get this little pleasant surprise. I don't think adding it to your wishlist will get it to appear. It's items on your Recommendations list that'll show up in the gold box. If anything, adding FES to the wishlist gets other items to show up but not the original item you want. I don't think adding it to your wishlist will get it to appear. It's items on your Recommendations list that'll show up in the gold box. If anything, adding FES to the wishlist gets other items to show up but not the original item you want. I got it to show up in my Recommendations list by having Baroque on my Wishlist, so you may want to try that...

I don't unerstand why they didn't restrict the coupon to only Atlus games if they didn't want it used on non-Atlus games. It doesn't seem like that should be impossible. My guess is that Amazon is actually footing the $5 and they don't care if you use it on a non-Atlus game, moreover, if you follow one of the Atlus links even if you purchase something else instead, Atlus should get a referral commission. That's what I did. I purchased Pinball Hall of Fame Williams Collection (PS2), but first followed one of the Atlus provided links. I get PHoF for $10 and Atlus gets a referral commission.

It's not impossible. It's just much much harder than you would like to believe. It's also definitely not worth implementing over this short promotion.

My bet is that they'd have to filter the coupon by keyword or by manually entering each item. They could probably go by publisher, but then not all Atlus games show up as being such on the website. Mayhaps not difficult per se, but definitely not worth paying someone to do it.

Still need to pick up Dragon quest 8 and valkarie profile 2 as well as fes. so many games. so little time. really wish there were more tru rpg co op games like star ocean 3 and tales of symphonia.

Don't quote me on this but in the old days when you cancelled an unshipped order, the promo coupon that you used on it would be put back in your account for future use, provided that it hadn't expired at the time of cancellation. If you returned an shipped order, of course the promo coupon would be forfeited. Now, I don't know if this still holds true.

Yes if you cancel your order the promo code will appear on your next order...also it doesn't have to be an atlus game ..it can be any preorder.. Code plus gold box =nice price on Gears of War 2 CE :-)

I'm only speculating here but they would need to do some heavy database changes and add certain features to Atlus only items. It would not be cost productive; not worth the time and effort.

As for how I would know (more speculating I suppose)- I'm on the IT side of the company I work for and have to deal with the cleanup when changes are put into effect and end up causing problems.

You could also look at Blizzard and World of Warcraft. How long did it take for them to implement key rings and how many times to Hortus and other community managers explain that they would have to make database changes for the rings to work?
