I went to EB today and found this in their flyer. It's not up in their website yet.
April 18th - 20th only!
Trade in 3 Get It Free Weekend
Reserve any new release!
*Valid for all available platforms. Valid on PS2, PS3, PSP, GC, Wii, NDS, Xbox, and 360 games. Games must include boxes and instructions. Some titles may be excluded. Applies to titles with a minimum $8 trade value. Offer may be discontinued at any time. See sales associate for details.According to a staff, it's towards a "new" releases, not just preorder. But he was very obscure on what "new" releases are. I guess this will be very YMMV.
[ADD] This deal is posted in RFD now. Now it will be almost impossible to dig from BBV.

That would mean something that was just released, for example R6V2. I've done this at my local EB, switched my pre-order to something in stock.

nice bit of info to know, this combined with Rogers 2 for 40, plus add Goozex into the mix is really boosting my library for a low cost

The idea is that you trade in 3 games with an $8 trade value, and instead of getting $24 in credit you get a new release (or upcoming release) game.
Since these new releases normally cost ~$60, this is a very good deal - assuming you aren't trading in games worth a lot more than $8 as part of this deal (for example, if you were to trade in R6V2, Mario Galaxy and Army of Two you'd be better off taking the trade value of $96).

It is also worth noting that you save the cost of tax on $60.

I traded 3 games for MGS4. There are only four games you can trade for in my store, it might vary in other stores.

Well at my store, I've been been able to choose any game for quite a while.
So i got ninja gaiden 2 and too human.
PS: I suggest you guys to preorder bourne conspiracy as it is of the few games priced at 69.99$ in their system right now and change it afterward to get 10$ credits back.

IIRC they do not give refund if you preorder with Trade 3 promo then change preorder item to less expensive one.

That scenerio is a YMMV sort of thing depending if the EB you gave you a receipt that doesn't state the preorder was a trade3 dealie.
That's what happened with me when I traded 3 in for MGS4 a year and a half ago and switched it to Brawl.

I've gotten $10 back on a gift card twice, for Brawl and Mario Galaxy when they were pre-ordered at $59.99.
