Dumb ass kids.
Rock-throwing kids anger 120,000 bees
LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Kids throwing rocks stirred up more trouble than they bargained for when they dislodged a swarm of bees from an enormous hive built in the wall of a Southern California apartment building, authorities said on Friday.
An estimated 120,000 bees held residents of the apartment building and nearby homes hostage in Santa Ana, California after the children pelted their 500 pound (227 kg) hive with rocks on Thursday, Santa Ana Fire Captain Steve Horner said.
Several people, including firefighters, news reporters and a TV cameraman, reported being stung and at least two people were taken to a hospital with multiple stings, Horner said.
Firefighters cordoned off a four-block area to allow the bees to calm down and return to their hive.
An exterminator later fogged the hive and vacuumed out 40,000 dead bees, then set a trap for returning worker bees, of which about 80,000 were captured, Horner said.
The quarter-ton honeycomb, which may have accumulated inside the apartment wall for years, was so big it was threatening the structural integrity of the two-story building, Horner said.
It's about time the bees have acted. Too long have they sat idle watching humans kill their homes and rape their children.

Wow... I thought bee hives contained maybe like 500 bees (when you see one a year like I do then 500 is a lot to imagine) But 120,000 is just a mind boggling number. Funny though, piss anything off and they'll attack you.
Edited Because I can't spell

It takes a 500 pound hive to hold 120,000 bees, but only 1 couch to hold a 600 pound woman.

And only one 600lb woman to consume the honey produced by a 500lb beehive. That's called "the circle of life."

120,000 is a huge hive.
We had a hive in our backyard one summer that had probably about 500 or so. We killed over 300 with fly-swatters one day. That was great fun since the wasps where landing everywhere on our fence and it easy pickings. After that day the wasp traffic decreased a ton and we found their nest about three days later and after gassing it had no problems.
Anyway, I can't imagine a hive with over 120,000 bees.

Bees or wasps/hornets? I have no problem with getting rid of the latter, but bees are so industrious and useful to the ecosystem. I'd feel bad killing them.

It's a good thing they weren't dealing with Giant Hornets: http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/magazine/pursuit/200301/movie/m01_hi.asx

Holy hell, I've seen those things before.. but that video is wild. I'd hate to see what would happen if enough of those things got together.. instead of Planet of the Apes.. we'd have Planet of the Hornets.

The bees just need to learn how to use boots. Those hornets are nothing a good stomping can't fix.

Well in our (America's) spirit of aiding those in need. I think we should arm those bees with tiny little Stinger missiles... those would even up the score alot. Of course then the bees would get too big for their britches and we'd end up losing people to those tiny little missiles... but hey, thats how things work it seems.

The most blatant case of bee genocide I've seen in recent memory. The horror, the horror...

Maybe you're on to something. We can trade them guns for honey and then use that honey to fund Nicaraguan rebels!

That's why I stay inside, I'm allergic to bee stings and could die next time I get stung. It's a good thing these aren't like the Giant Hornets in FFXI, but then we could just level up and they'd be easy to kill.

GOOD GOD.
Those hornets look as big as my damn face. I though it was a joke at first, they look so ridiculously out of proportion to the honeybees.

They were wasps, not bees. I should probably go change my original post to avoid any future confusion.
