Fanatic, a tip of advise. I would stay away from PS1 games at the moment, especially popular ones. Unless you can find those for under 20-30 dollars (doubtful), I would hold off any PS1 purchase right now! Sooner or later those popular ones, xenogear / vagrant story / legend of mana, will probably be released on PSN.

Hmm yeah that's a good idea Puppet, I mean, if FFVII can make its way to the PSN, there's no reason why the others wouldn't; I'm just a stickler for the packaging heh...I think FFVIII/IX/Origins/Chronicles can be had for around $30, so I may get those on disc, but the others are mondo expensive on eBay ($50+) so I may wait. Yeah, I'm a bit of a sucker for the actual discs/packaging too. I like the fact that I can play it on any system (old or new) without problems and I'm not stuck in case the companies decide to patch or change the code that makes my purchase useless. I'm all for PSN downloads and what not, but will ALWAYS prefer to have a physical copy just in case ^_^

same here. for me, sometimes special edition/random extra goodies these days equals instant purchase/preorder. the lunar series on the PS1 was pretty good like that. it is also what makes me sad about the blazblue artbook which was exclusive to GS.com.

I got the xbox version of silent hill 2, but I want the playstation version since I don't own an xbox 360 personally (brother does) and don't plan on following microsoft. PuppetYuber, it really depends. Sometimes I luck out and get there when the sale first starts and they have ALL the games I want in one store. Other times, they don't have more than one or two of them. So if you want me to buy games for you really it's best to do what game_fanatic did and just list a bunch of games. That way I can try to get the best deal for you. I have no guarantee of course that I can get them, but if you ask me to get games I will have to buy them ahead of time so I will need you to follow through on the sale. I've been burned unfortunately in the past so I won't go crazy with B2G1's unless I really know the buyers (as I do know you guys).

RoganSarine, around me there are very, very few stores that do the whole clearance bin thing (for some reason). FYE does it occasionally as does Wal-Mart (though their games in the clearance section are usually really awful shovelware titles). I'm slowly moving away from doing the in-store sales anyhow since they are so inconsistent. Online sales tend to be a lot better anyhow, unless the sales are widely advertised. Not to turtle spam, but this is a better version of the drawing (more accurate detail and not as dark). And I guess I'll consider to make him a boss haha. Maybe he can throw smaller turtles at the players or something. Haha, it's actually not a bad idea. We're not really sure what we're going to do yet. All we know is the first game in the trilogy will be a Final Fantasy type Turn-Based RPG. The second and third are up in the air, because obviously we have to make the first one before we can do sequels, but my cousins would like to make an "Ultima" type RPG. Not sure we can pull that off lol, but we'll see.

I will probably have static enemies (maybe some simple animations for moves) and more fully animated hero characters. I'm going to experiment a lot as it's the first game I've worked on :)

At the moment neksus, we are looking to do it 100% in Java (not Javascript mind you) and it will be PC exclusive at first anyhow. If we can learn how to port it to other systems (say Xbox Live Arcade or Wii Ware or PSN that'd be nice, but our goal for the first game is to at least get the PC version out. Again we are really new at this so it's a LONG time coming haha).

I will definitely be doing more artwork. I use all sorts of methods to try and hunt them down: Sales, eBay auctions, CAG traders, coupons, etc. There is no real way to ensure I can always get them for cheap, but sales seem to pop up pretty frequently. They are already my most popular item on the GFC store site, so yeah you can be sure I'll try to get more and more as time goes on. Not sure if you read about it yet or not, but the reason you are getting charged fees on receiving payments even in your personal account is because of Paypal's new rules stating that they will charge fees on all funds received for the sale of an item. Only away to avoid the fees is to make a personal payment and mark it as a "gift". It's pretty dumb, and I think it started sometime last month.

CrushEm, yeah it appears that anything marked as a "service", "goods", "money owed" or anything like that incurs a fee now (even if it's backed by a bank transfer). In the future I guess you have to either have the funds in your Paypal account OR mark it as a "gift" in the payment type field. The refund SHOULD go back to your Paypal account, so yeah I assume you can just re-send those funds when they clear. Paypal is a pain. Game_Fanatic, I put 4 pounds so that I can ship them all in sturdy cardboard packaging to make sure they don't crack. They weigh around 10-12 oz each by themselves plus packaging, so it'll be cheaper to ship them all together I assume.

That is possible, though I have heard that no matter what the fees for gifting are always lower than normal. In any case, it may have just been a conversion fee (from CAD to USD or something) and not the 3.9% Paypal fee on top of it. Who knows. That's my guess though. We'll see. My eBay one sold for $57.00 shipped (very pricey I realize) but I bought them for around $50 a piece and am selling them at cost if you are interested. If not, chances are they will be available cheaper in the future, but I bought them strictly for a quick turnover sale and do not plan on holding onto them. I have 2 left (and will be relisting one of them on eBay tomorrow).

RoganSarine, You're a frequent customer of mine and I know your situation. Here's a hint though: You don't need to fill out all the info. Just put in your name (RoganSarine is fine since I have you on file already) and in the comment field just put what the order is for. The only reason I need the DR form to be filled out right now is so I have a record. CAG PM's get deleted weekly by me (because my box fills so fast) and Emails are tricky since many people have different Email addresses and their names often don't match. Having a DR record at least gives me something to go by.

At the moment I color-code everything in Microsoft Outlook, so as soon as I get an order on the DR it goes into my Direct Request folder. I mark it as Orange (for "Canadian Orders") and give it a color responding to different statuses (Invoice Sent, Payment Pending, Payment Received, Items Ordered, Items Shipped, etc.). It's a pretty complex system I put together and I have it down to a T. The problem is with orders that don't use the DR, I end up having to just try to track them through my Quickbooks software but it's not as easy as it sounds.

Hopefully that makes some sense. So the moral of the story is, if you order anything (even if you order it yourself and have it shipped to my house) it's best if you fill out a DR form and just let me know.

RoganSarine, you'd think that I make $100+ bi-weekly, but it's not really that simple. There are a lot of fees for running the service including (but not limited to):

PO BOX (for business mail): $125 USD/year
Endicia (Service I use for shipping): $20 a month or so
Paypal Fees (We all know about them =P)
Packing Supplies: $50+ a month. You'd be surprised how much proper shipping tapes can cost as well as shipping labels
Gas: Believe it or not, but running to the Post Office every day and several local stores gets expensive fast, even if you drive a hybrid Prius ^_^;;
UPS Store Account: $250 USD / year. I often ship packages I order for you guys to my UPS store because they can sign for packages. I am often at work during the day (when they deliver packages) and so it's a necessary service.

and the big one:

Credit Card Fees: Even though I am starting to do what I'm supposed to do (buy items directly with the funds you send me on Paypal), the sad fact is that I have a LOT of credit card debt and have had to (in the past) use cards to buy items for GFC. I also did a lot of speculating on what items would sell well when I first started GFC (when it was more of a store and less of a shipping service) and I pay a TON in fees. These easily gobble up all profits so until I pay them off, it's sort of a break-even sort of situation =L

So as you can see, there are a lot of fees :) The idea is that eventually as I grow my customer base, then yes I will make $50-$100 a week (or more!) but right now I am weaning myself off credit cards, increasing my awareness in the community and finding new customers all the time. As I improve my site, get my system down better and find more time for shipping, things will improve :) Wish me luck!

Haha spike32, yeah you're totally right. Nobody in their right mind would put this much effort and time into such a silly service, but the fact is it combines all my hobbies and skills into one nice package. I was raised believing that you should do what you enjoy and that everyone has their own talents and such.

GFC combines my love of video games, community, giving back, making friends, website design, coding, artwork and of course making a little side money on the side. Not much more I can ask than that. Jbently, I actually do have a Paypal Mastercard, but you have to remember one thing: It only works on the account that has the Debit Card applied. For me, it's tied to my business account and since most GFC members send to my personal account (to avoid the fees) I either have no cash back with the debit card, or I have to send the money from my personal to my business account, which incurs a 3.0%+ Fee which negates the 1.5% back. So I do use it on payments made to my business, but for personal payments it doesn't quite work. Hence the credit cards =P

PS: New members only get 1.0% back, though I am grandfathered in with the original 1.5% as well.

Jbently, yeah it sucks but there's no way around it for me. My Paypal Debit USED to be my personal account, but one time an eBay buyer paid me on my personal acct with a credit card and I accidentally updated it to premiere/business. They said I had already downgraded once and wouldn't make an exception (I was on the phone for over 2 hours). So now I'm stuck :(

You can make free transfer from business TO personal, but not the other way around. It's all good. I have roughly 7 years or so and I expect to be 100% out of debt (Credit Cards, College Loans, Car payments, etc.). I know 7 years sounds like a long time, but if I pace myself it's very doable. If GFC grows faster than maybe I can shave a year or two off that goal ^_^

EDIT: It seems that Paypal now allows me to send money from my personal to my business (marked as a gift) with NO fees. That's HUGE for me. Thanks so much to bringing this to my attention. I probably wouldn't have tried it out for ages if you hadn't mentioned it. Thanks again Jbently :)

Just so you guys know, this week was/is exceptionally busy for me. I am on hour 56 of 98 hours working in the Mohegan Sun Poker Summer Showdown tournaments. As you can imagine, I'm exhausted, I have a small cold now (doh!) and to make matters worse my grandfather had a heart attack on Friday and is in the CCU area of the hospital. A crazy week for sure, but things are moving along.

I have received almost 100 Direct Requests this past week (smashing the previous record by nearly double) so you guys sure do know how to time them :) I have been working nearly all my time at home to send out invoices though and I'm caught up to all of them until today around 4PM or so. matsam, I just went ahead and got 2 sealed copies of Street Fighter IV for both systems on Gamestop.com, so that's good for now. I'm going to go to my local gamestops and pick up a bunch of the "new" copies there too if they're still in stock (hopefully they will be).

The good news is I have more time today to do this, the bad news is that it's because I got sent home from work after working only a half day (I've worked so many hours lately that working 4 hours feels like nothing). So despite being a bit under-the-weather, I'm still going to go out today and hopefully can get a bunch of copies for everyone.

i wish i could've bought them off amazon, but i had to off ebay as theyre the only place i could find them to ship to canada.

I know some of my members have saved hundreds on certain things!

I didn't know that either about new members not posting links (must be new). That's a good thing probably as many new members are spammers and such.

If you bought it on eBay and it came crushed/damaged then you can always file a claim with them/Paypal if the item is not in the condition you ordered. First try to return it properly with the seller, but if they are difficult you can generally get your money back in full from eBay. They are very, very, very focused on buyers' satisfaction.

Okay, I think it is now safe to say that you guys like Street Fighter IV. This is by far the most requests I've EVER received for a single item (around 30?!?!). I am going to do my best to get as many of you copies. In the meantime I will send invoices out. All invoices that have been paid for before 5:30 PM today will be almost guaranteed copies.
