well i just sent the email, and told him i never actually opened the package, as the box was destroyed, so it was basically brand new still in terms of what ive done on my end once i got it.

i could've got my pc through you when i ordered all my parts .. could've saved a few hundred! but i think shipping would have killed it :p (i got free with ncix from an item i had in my order)

i'll probably use you to buy some parts when i need them though. this is really a great idea, im surprised theres not more people doing it!

** Some Other Street Fighter IV Offers **

Hey guys, as you probably know. I will only be able to get a limited number of the New/Not-So-Sealed copies from Gamestop. That being said, there are a few ways to get the game similarly priced for cheap. Here are two ways:

1) I can order the game on Goozex for you (Limited to one per console at this time). Along with the 50% Coupon for points I can get the game for roughly $23 USD which is almost identical to the one at Gamestop. Granted it's not new (well it may be if people are flipping them lol), but for the PS3 the Blu-Ray should be mint as they don't scratch easy. For Xbox 360 it may very well be slightly scratched but should play great anyhow.

2) Gamefly sells their used games at great prices and has Street Fighter IV at $25 + tax. Slightly more expensive, but good value (especially for PS3 as they send you the brand new box/manual and the disc should be near mint as well).

3) I may be able to price match at some local stores (Best Buy/Wal-Mart/Target) but I have no real guarantee of this. I'll try anyhow.

I am leaving in about 30 minutes to snag as many as I can ^_^ Wish me luck!

Okay guys, here's the deal with Street Fighter IV. I only sent invoices to the people who I was able to secure a copy (I will show you the photo soon). If I am able to get more copies I will offer them through my website on a first-come-first-served basis since I will have to use Goozex/Gamefly/etc. to get them. If you have already paid then can assume that I was able to get you a copy. Also note that if you requested an Xbox 360 version, it's more likely you will get a copy as the stores had more of those in stock (PS3 one sold better apparently though all stores sold out pretty much of both systems).

TronB, I am guessing that it will be around $81 + $11 + $2 = $94 USD shipped to Canada or so TOTAL. That includes shipping to me and then shipping to Canada. Shouldn't be much more than that unless the item weighs more than 2 pounds (which I don't think it does). If you want me to buy it, you know what to do ;)

Setite, I'm sorry I haven't been to the post office yet. I've had a bad cold and had to work on top of it. The thing is, the post office here is only open from 9AM-5PM and I've been working 9AM-7PM or so lately. If I get out early today from work (before 5PM) I will drop it off. My crazy Poker tournament ends on Saturday and next week will return to normal. I will do my best to get there before they close. I wish they had a drop-off area for larger packages, but they stopped doing this after 9/11 :(

I paid directly through paypal (without credit card) so it was $26.50 US.. converted using Paypal's horrible exchange rate it was $29.61 CAD total.

The MSRP is around $50 now, so it's slowly but surely dropping heh.

As for those who didn't make it into the original batch of SFIV's just hang in there. There's still hope. I had a few cancellations (believe it or not). A few people that requested PS3 copies when they meant to request Xbox 360 versions (which I have less requested) and such. I will work it out to you. If you get an invoice from me you are pretty much golden :) When all the dust settles I will perhaps make a list of those who were lucky enough to get copies or something. Keep in mind that I may very well be able to get you used copies very cheap as well (especially if Gamestop has another sale or coupon for Xbox 360). Hang tight my friends!

Ya, i saw that too. Im having a hard time deciding what to buy. This or Dragon Age: Origins.
Demon's Souls comes out on Oct. 6 and Dragon Age on Oct. 20.
I heard really good things from Demon's Souls but its hard as a mutha, and ok things from Dragon age but you never know til its out.

Strife18, yeah their fees are astronomical. It is amazing to me they have stayed in business for 12 years with what they charge. Makes me think that I really need to get my debt paid down and do this full-time =P I don't think any of my competition comes close in price or value to what I can offer. Imagine if I didn't work 60 hours a week at a day job? Man, I could be a serious force to recon with.

Think about it: CheapyD started Cheapassgamer with little or no money at first and just did what I did basically, grew on gaming forums and such. These days he owns one of the most successful gaming sites around (at least in terms of member users and general ad revenue). I can't order any of your other games because I literally have no extra money at the moment. All the extra money this month went towards paying my car taxes for my town ($700 USD...OUCH!), rent and bills. If you want a quick answer, I believe he got a bunch, and sent invoices to the first however many people he had games for. If you hadn't received an invoice yet, you do not have a copy held for you. Of course there is always a chance if you were wanting the PS3 version as some people accidentally requested ps3 versions instead of the 360 and therefore cancelled. So he may send out more invoices whenever everything is straightened out.

Spike32, yes it did :) I just opened it as a matter of fact. I actually have about 10 packages that have not been opened simply because I haven't had time (the casino is killing me!) The good news is guys that after Saturday my work week will be back to normal (3 days a week) and I will have PLENTY of time to go through all your boxes, sort them out, repack them and ship them :)

This is only a once-per-season thing, and this summer tournament was a mess for the casino. Today we missed our goal of 350 players by over 120 players (which means the casino will lose more than $200,000 USD just from today alone...ouch). So naturally the casino is stressing out. Things will be good though next week and I hope to be 100% caught up by then. Thanks for understanding!

** Some Things to Know for Newcomers **

1) If you send a Direct Request to me I will typically send you an invoice within 24 hours. If you do not receive one then it means 99% of the time I am not able to get your item (especially with the Street Fighter IV items). I will still add your info to my system so that next time around I'll be ready to go.

2) If you do receive an invoice from me and do not receive a "Hey, I got your payment" message. This is normal too. I do not yet have an automated way to do this, but if it shows as cleared on Paypal, I got your payment and will order your items. In the future I hope to automate this on the site for status checks, but it will be a while away. Just bear with me :)

3) When I do receive your items, I will send an Email to you when they ship out. I will always send this to the Email address on file that I got when you submitted your Direct Request. If you need to update this, just let me know.

4) I am only human. I work all by myself on GFC with limited help from my wife when she's not busy. I process over 100 items a week for you guys lately while working 7 days a week at two or three seperate jobs. Needless to say I'm very busy, but I'm also very efficient when I am able to work on these orders. Just give it time. Most of the time the savings are worth it, and when I'm not backed up with my jobs I often send out items same day as I receive them. I will get back to my original pace once I just get over some hurdles in terms of my work ^_^

5) I appreciate your orders just as much as many of you appreciate my services. We really do help each other and it is the core reason this Win/Win business works. Just hang in there and we will both be very happy :)

I realize I am really behind on shipping out some items this week, but I am steadily catching up. As I said before I really do plan on being all caught up after this weekend. That being said, I'm still working on coding for the GFC site (even if it doesn't look it).

Today I implemented real-time Canuck Buck updates. This means if you earn Canuck Bucks, I will add them to your bank account on the GFC site :) I haven't started calculating past Canuck Bucks, but you will soon see your credits available (even if the prizes are not listed there yet). Goomba, I'm going to do a bit of an obscure thing with my order. I am going to pay $15.33 USD with my regular paypal, and the rest (besides the shipping/GFC fee/insurance) with my other paypal which I said in the comments of my payment. I will pay the rest of it when my payment clears.

I think I calculate it right, but I did do it in like 5 minutes before paypal went into it's maintenance routine... I wanted to get it done today, so it could be ordered in the morning (hopefully -- or atleast earlier than me getting hom) instead of friday evening when I get home from work.

RoganSarine, for shipments with more than 2 games, I typically use cardboard boxes and sturdier shipping methods than envelopes. I get all sorts of boxes and packing materials from the many items I order, so generally speaking I have a limitless supply. Though some of the larger items need box sizes that I dont' regularly have and sometimes have to buy (but this is rare). Thanks again guys. ** GFC Daily Update **

Just so you know, last night I began coding Direct Request 2.0. This will allow you to request items without having to re-enter your address and personal information. Once you log into the site, it will remember your personal info and all you'll have to do is put in the item information you want to order. Direct Request 2.1 will allow you to add multiple items on a single form, but let's not get ahead of ourselves ^_^

I expect Direct Request 2.0 to launch sometime next week, so look out for that. Imagine that... an actual reason to log into the GFC site! It's about time hehe.

That's actually just a 'family photo' of my controllers, but of the ones pictured Goomba sent up the X-Arcade (eBay'd for ~$80) and the two MadCatz SFIV SE FightSticks (on sale at the GameShark/MadCatz store for $80 each less their 10% newsletter signup discount).

Not pictured but equally shipped North was my copy of BlazBlue 360 LE (~$60), Guilty Gear Accent Core XX (~$25) for Wii and Samurai Shodown Anthology for Wii (~$25)

My next batch will be a couple more games, but mostly some Sanwa and Seimitsu arcade parts from LizardLick.com (CDN shipping is kinda pricey) to modify the two SE sticks...that'll pretty much put me in the poorhouse for awhile, but I'll be set for fighting games for quite some time :)

** GFC General Survey **

Hey guys, I'm just wondering something. As you know I spend the majority of my GFC processing time putting together invoices. It's a very important part of the process but it also takes a LOT of time (as long as half an hour for some or more believe it or not, depending on the complexity of the order). As you may also know, I'm putting together an automated system to process the generation of invoices. It's a long way off, but mostly because I spend all the time doing invoices and not programming.

My question to you is: If I were to spend a period of time to program (and not take Direct Requests) for say a week or two, do you think it'd be a good idea? Would you be willing to sacrifice a week or two with no orders in order to have a super-duper Direct Request page that generated invoices and allowed you to pay right away? Let me know! Thanks ^_^

Goomba, you should do both at the same time, what's wrong with you ;) just j/k of course, I encourage this decision as I hate always asking you how much how much then saying no. As long as it's not gonna be too much of a pain for you (I know I hate programming of any kind, I'm looking at you Perl) then I encourage everyone to allow Goomba to try. I mean if worse comes to worse we can always pay and order for ourselves to your address right? I don't see a problem here, it's win win.

I'm not really doing it at the moment, it's just I was wondering if it'd be worth it. I have a TON of ideas for the site, and not much time to program ^_^ You guys have been keeping me steadily busy (which is great).

Ultimately though, if I want to grow the business further I will need to further automate things. This will allow you guys to get your orders faster too since I won't have to waste as much time manually editing each invoice one by one :)

Rogan, you really are OCD. I don't send out messages as you know every time I order a game (it'd take forever and it'd be a lot to keep track of in addition to what I already have). I got your money though and all your games will be on their way to me as of Monday (I don't think most stores ship on weekends). So when I get them, I'll mail them to you and will send you an Email. Same as always =P

Programming in PHP is ridiculously easy. I mean there is a little bit of the traditional time-consuming nature of programming, but the coding itself isn't hard for the most part (at least what I use it for). I would still have to have a slight estimate to item weights and things (as people would be entering it themselves) but it would allow them to at least get a pretty good estimate of the order total. In addition, they could pay right away and get status updates on their product orders as I'd tie it into the GFC store section (which allows for customer order histories, status updates, etc).

We'll see ;)

Rabid, I recently had about 30 in stock. I sold 31 though so there is one person ahead of you on the waiting list. I'm not 100% sure, but I should have more codes sometime in the middle of August. I get them when they are on sale which is somewhat sporadic here in the US :)

The 12 Month Live cards DO work in the US and Canada though. Only the Xbox / Microsoft Points cards are separate from country to country. Thanks!

My grandfather passed away today around 4 PM :( Thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayers. He lived a good long life though (he was 86 this past March) and was a huge inspiration to me in many ways. He gave me my love of art and reading and taught me more than I could ever hope for from a grandfather. More than anything he loved his family, especially my grandmother "Ma". Just keep my family in prayer please.

damn, that really sucks Goomba :cry: I lost my grandfather also this year in January, and all you can really do is just think that they had a good full life. I also lost my father unexpectedly the next month in February on Family Day (Go figure) and he wasn't sick in any way so I know how you're feeling right now. Thanks guys. Honestly, I don't feel too bad for my grandfather...he's in a better place and he hasn't been in good health the last couple of years. They didn't expect he would have lived this long, but it's going to take a major toll on my grandmother and the rest of my family. We used to be really, really close and our family did everything together (monthly restaurant brunches, celebrated every holiday together with lots of at-home-cooking and little parties and everyone was together), but now that my grandfather is gone I have a feeling everything is going to change big time.

Spike32, I'm sorry to hear about your father. That's really awful :( I hope you got to know him well while he was away. At least he wasn't sick and suffering...that's the worst way to go out. I'll be okay. I feel really sad of course, but I know life goes on. I did get to know him really well when I was younger and we spent a lot of time at his house. I'm just really glad that I visited him the other day after he had his heart attack. If I hadn't gone, I would have felt really regretful about not getting to see him one last time. Okay guys, I survived my 13 days straight of working at the Poker Tournament! I was only going to work 11, day off, then one more day but they asked me to come in on Sunday which made it 13 straight. I'm still working my University job today but I'll have a lot more time since I have computer access there.

That being said, this will be a busy week for my family as they are going to have a small funeral for my grandfather and some informal get-togethers as well. I am still working hard behind the scenes though packing and repacking all your games. Almost all the Street Fighter copies are in now though so I will start shipping those out tomorrow. No, I'm a Poker Dealer by day and a video game reseller by night ^_^ We don't keep our own tips for the big tournaments (they're pooled between several hundred of us) but hopefully we'll make some decent money. We'll find out in a week or two when all the tips are counted up *crosses fingers*

I am starting to pack the Street Fighter orders now (along with the regular DR's) so a vacation sounds good right about now. Though personally I'd choose Japan over Aruba or Jamaica any day ^_^ (if I could actually afford it). Thanks :)

I love China actually and plan to go back hopefully again next year, but Japan is the place I want to go most that I haven't been to. Jamaica sounds cool, I'm just not really into beaches/drinking/all that stuff that seems associated with tropical islands and things like that :) Oh yeah and no pot either lol... I'm as straight edge as they come =P

Unfortunately randeep_25, the guy I was buying the cards from (SmurfALMIGHTY) on CAG seems to be under investigation and is not responding to any of my messages. He still owes me 4 Xbox Live card codes and one points code (I already paid him more than $120) but a lot of people are saying he may be a scam artist now. He always provided me with codes in the recent past, but lately he's been distant and not responding unfortunately.

So now it seems I will have to wait for them to go on sale at Best Buy or something before I can get them. Sorry :(

I will occasionally have played slots or a couple spins of roulette in my day but I can't really afford to gamble so I stick on the casino's end where you're guaranteed to make money instead of lose it :) I was able to get around 24 copies of the Street Fighter in total, which isn't bad at all. If I had more mailing addresses I could have gotten more, but they were very strict about it with this sale. Oh well.

Yeah Strife, exactly. I am up to my ears in video games as well so really I should just save my money. My wife and I are thinking of saving some money towards a down payment on a house right now as we are quickly outgrowing our apartment/townhouse and they plan to take away our free heating this winter (they will add electrical heating and perhaps gas heated water...which is really expensive). So as fun as slots or table games or poker may be, just totally not in my budget! Though occasionally (like this week) the local casinos will send me $10-$20 in free slot play or whatever with no strings attached, then I'll play. Sorry to hear about the problems with Smurf over the Live cards, I guess it was bound to happen sooner rather than later seeing as how all the other people selling the cheap MS Points/Live Subs "ran out" at around the same time. I hope everything works out and you can get the rest of the codes though or at least get your money back. I did a trade with him to get some of the cheap points and he did seem like kind of a douche to deal with.

Also lastly, would I need to fill out a direct request on GFC if I plan on ordering an item from Amazon myself and having it shipped to your address? I never really play the colors straight up (2 to 1 odds are far from reliable when you have a slim chance of winning regularly), but instead use different pattern-based systems :) I won a lot of money once in Atlantic City using them but lost nearly all the winnings later on. Oh well, it is fun though while it lasts :)

Jbently, the jury is still out on Smurf. It's weird because the first 20 cards or so he was very reliable and fast, then towards the end suddenly he seemed a bit dodgy and didn't seem as responsive. Then, slowly but surely it turned out that he was a bit cocky and rude at times and went back on his promises. I shouldn't have sent him the last $300 on the last order of mine, but I had so many people pre-ordering that I had little choice. Oh well, you live and you learn :(

As for shipping items that you've ordered to my house, yes I do require you still fill out a DR form. I know it seems silly, but it's the only sure-fire way for me to keep track of all the items coming in and who they are for. I am about 40% done with the new DR form (that will dynamically load your address information from your user login). It's coming soon :) This week is again busy with my grandfather's funeral and family visiting and such, but I am working on it each and every day in some way. Thanks for understanding!

Just wanted to say thanks again to all the kind wishes towards me and my family. The memorial service for my grandfather was today and it turned out to be really great. A ton of people showed up and it was really casual and sentimental, just the way my grandfather would have liked it. No casket, no real funeral service...just some family members saying nice things about him and talking about memories and a small sermon from a local pastor. Very nice indeed and lots of great food afterwards.

Then for the second half of the day, I celebrated my 6th anniversary with my wife (since today also happened to be our anniversary) and we went to a delicious authentic Japanese restaurant in Providence, RI. The owners are very friendly and we try to give them business whenever we can, despite the restaurant being over an hour away lol. Oh well...the food was superb as always :) We even got to use our free $10 coupon at the casino to play slots. We didn't win anything but it was fun playing for free without having to spend a penny of our own haha.

So if you guys wrote to me and didn't hear back from me today, now you know why. I have to work tomorrow morning but I will try to respond to a few PM's and Emails and maybe even a DR or two. Busy week, but things are slowly returning to normal for me and my family. Thanks again everyone for your support and friendship :)

spike32, that's exactly what it was. Very laid back (it was in my grandmother's living room) and we had lots of jokes and stories to tell so it was by far the most comfortable "funeral" I've ever been to. As for the Japanese food: absolutely! It's funny because when I first met my wife (she's Chinese) she had a general dislike of all things Japanese and I never thought I could convince her otherwise. Slowly but surely over the last 8 years or so though I've been converting her :) I still like a larger amount of sushi, but she's catching up haha.

The thing is, they shipped them all together in flimsy manila envelopes (not sturdy cardboard or bubble mailers). A few are slightly bent but nothing horrible. I am getting new packaging for them and will do my best to ensure they reach you in great condition. Should have them all out by Monday, so be sure to keep an eye out for the Emails :)

I was able to get all the copies of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne with the exception of one or two copies (Amazon apparently ran out of stock and has it on hold, unfortunately). Ahhh...good ol' caffeine; can't do without it in the mornings and the all-nighters. I also drink energy drinks from time to time when I feel I need it (ie. opening shifts), especially after sleeping late. I've been told their extremely bad, but the Dr. continues to tell me I'm as healthy as an ox, I guess it's all about moderation really.

Spike32, yeah I know I should. Like I said, I really am a wuss :) The first time a zombie dog jumped through the window I nearly died. Of course that was when it first came out and I was MUCH younger (what was that, like 12 years ago?) so surely I can put up with a few demons/zombies/monsters ... right? Fatal Frame looks infinitely more creepy than American survival horror type games as ghosts are really creepy and from what I have heard Silent Hill is THE single scariest experience of the bunch. One of these days =P

telepathy, at the moment the only way to do it is to request using seperate DR's (submit one item, then hit back on the browser and change the info). OR you can also request one item and in the comments field put in other items you want. The more detail the better. I am still working on a new improved form that will let you submit up to 20+ items on one page, but it's not ready and wont' be for some time. I figure it's more important to get the current and upcoming orders out rather than stop my services for a few weeks to program. :)

Haha I'm 27 and probably more scared than you are at 20 :) Funny how that works. I think it's more the "Psychological Horror" of Silent Hill that makes it scary. It's not necessarily the cheap scares but rather the lingering atmosphere, jump out at you from nowhere freaky monsters and realism the games have. I played like an hour into the original Silent Hill and it was creepy, but I was with a full room of friends and didn't come close to what that game has to offer in terms of scares. I've seen random screenshots and such and it looks like I'd be horrified lol. The Wii Remake looks remarkably good as well. Have you played any of the SH games all the way through?

Setite, I'm so happy that your wife got her items :) I figured she did when I saw that you left another positive feedback for me ^_^ The reason I tried Paypal shipping for your item was to compare it to the system I use now (Endicia). I thought it would allow me to print it on a small label as I do for first class, but Paypal shipping also used the large cut out requiring me to use scissors and all that. So you can be sure I won't use Paypal shipping again ... it's so much more work and didn't offer any discount or anything lol. OH well :)

Spike32, I'm curious. Did you ever see the movie? As I understand it ... it ties together with the first and possibly second game. I haven't seen it though, for fear of spoilers (or just fear of fear...lol). Not sure if it's any good but I've heard mostly good things from people who saw it. Love to know what you thought of it, if you saw it.

yep, I saw the movie. Don't worry about spoilers, in fact, they made the main character a woman when in fact it's suppose to be Harry Mason. They say it ties together the first and second game because they got enemies such as Pyramid Head and the sirens from the church, etc. The good thing about the movie is that a lot of the songs were sung by the woman who does the singing for the games, Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn who also happens to be a great voice actress :D The movie was done well, I'd recommend watching it. Although it's not as messed up as the games ;) it's not very scary.

EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention that yes the Wii remake looks very good, although I hope they don't end up changing TOO much of it.

spike32, okay well in that case would you recommend I play the game first and then see the movie or vice versa. Same goes for the Wii Remake. Should I play the PSX version (I own a mint copy of the original and just never played it yet) or do you think I should try the Wii version first. So many questions!

Personally, I say you play the PSX one first then play the Wii one. You might get confused if you do it vice versa saying wait, why is she a kid, who the hell is she :lol: Play the original then watch the movie. It's not essential to play the game first, but it does give the movie a better effect.

Fatal Frame is the other series I want... but I've glanced at the prices of the games and they've made me shiver in fear. Seriously, $25 for a PS2 game?
