RoganSarine, yes surprisingly 99% of the GoHastings games look AWESOME. Some of them even came factory sealed (not your items, but just mentioning for the record). Your copy of Beyond Good & Evil's case looks like it was never played though (game has some minor scratches, but nothing major). Very impressed with them actually :) Packing that now. For the record, your Indigo Prophecy did come in and looks almost Perfect! (Xbox version). The Suffering has the case, but no manual also. Soul Reaver 2 is only obvious Gamestop game: has sticker residue, Gamestop "Used" sticker inside case and is missing the manual. This disc has the most scratches of the bunch, but should play fine. Doesn't look particularly deep or anything. Hope you like 'em!

Well, that's the thing about Go Hastings.

For future reference, GoHastings works with a game selection bar on the left hand side as far as I know where you can choose your system. I have no idea how you can "save" this setting without adding the game to your cart. By default, it's set to whatever is at the top (which is the cheapest version), which is why I listed the prices beside my order for the game I want...

Indigo Prophecy on the Xbox was like $3, while it was $7-8 on PS2. I wish it was on PS2 just because I like the Sony library I have, but I do have a regular xbox that can play custom music (which shouldn't be played on Dingo, but whatever), so it's not erally a big deal... All my friends own 360's, so I can show them this awesome unique game for once :P

Thanks for ordering the stuff... But seriously though, if 2 of my games didn't ship (I know The Thing would have been $1 though.. that's why I wanted it... I did have other things I could have gotten for $1 :( ), and the indigo prophecy version I got was so cheap... How expensive is their shipping? :hot:

With my Firefox setup, whenever I select the format I want the page url refreshes to reflect the change. Donno why your browser didn't do that for you. You left NoScript on maybe?

Anyways, if it makes you happy the Xbox version is superior AFAIK ;) I just ordered the PS2 version myself cause I want both :)

The Xbox version was better received than the PS2 version (I believe the visuals and loading times are better, though I could be mistaken). I like classic Xbox games that play on the 360 mostly because I never had an original Xbox and like to see what I was missing. Apparently not much, but there are some good gems out there. This game definitely caught my eye now that you guys mentioned it. I had never heard of it before honestly, but if it's from the Heavy Rain people I'd love to try it!

Wow. lots of people getting Valkyria Chronicles. Is that a holiday special from ebgames or just an overall price drop? Since its $20, what have people been paying after shipping + handling + shipping to Canada?

The thing about Valkyria, it was limited to only 2 per household online but in stores (when I can find them in stock) they don't have that restriction. So I can buy them as I find them, though they are drying up as I've got most of the local copies. Altogether it comes out to be $26.50 or so after tax/shipping/service charge. Not bad for a gem of a game :) Keep in mind also most copies are not sealed, though they are New.

Yeah, actually there is a TON of AAA games coming out in the next year for just about all the systems. I still recommend at least renting Valkyria Chronicles some time :) Or I guess you could always buy the PSP sequel coming up, though I'm sure it won't hold up quite as well graphically to its PS3 brother. I was just watching CBC news and they had a story about shopping at US sites over the holidays and the hoops Canadians have to jump through to have things shipped up here. They then showed some guy in ND that has a business exactly like GFC and how he has been expanding each year (his garage has gotten bigger three times). The guy even had to get a forklift to deal with all the packages he gets each day and had to hire a lady to help him out. They then showed the post office in his town (which is 1.5 hours from Winnipeg) and that almost all the PO boxes there belonged to Canadians. I hope GFC will enjoy his kind of success some day.

Does anyone know why paypal wants to charge me a $0.12 fee to send money? I select gift and I've got the funds available in my account. I thought it was supposed to be free if funds were available. I know it's only 12 cents, but it's the principle behind the matter.

Paypal has weird charges lately relating to currency exchanges and things. I can't figure them out any more as it seems every person pays slightly different fees. Not sure what's up with that. adrianchan56, I am working my last day at work before the Christmas break so I'll definitely check that for you tonight. Here's a little what my week looks like:

Wednesday: Working till 5PM at University job, spending all night invoicing for UPS orders and existing orders that just came in.

Thursday: Working morning/afternoon at casino job, spending afternoon/evening with Dad's family for Christmas dinner/get together. Packing packages and invoicing.

Friday: Working morning/afternoon at casino job, spending afternoon/evening with Mom's side of the family for Christmas dinner/get together. [Post office closed]. I will pack any packages still left over from other days. Should be mostly caught up by then.

Saturday: I will be shipping out all the packages from the last couple of days when the post office was closed. In addition, I hope to put some final touches on the BETA website for DR 2.0 which is officially launching on 01/01/2010. I'm also putting together some lowball items as well :)

So that's it in a nutshell. After next week, all the holidays will be over and things will return to normal again. I should be caught up with all these orders, have an automated DR 2.0 system running and GFC will speed rocket ahead again back to 2-3 days processing time instead of this nightmare of a month :) Thanks again guys. I can't say for sure without being home to give you an accurate weight of the items, but I'm guessing you'll save around $6 or $7 by shipping in a single box. Which I guess is somewhat negated by the customs fees, but it's up to you. Doing that means I could ship Priority Mail which you'd likely get quicker. So it's your call :) If you want I can give you an accurate weight comparison tonight. I'll be home in 3 hours.

If you want proper insurance, probably, but not for certain... It's not really worth importing a monitor... just get a 24" one from canada for $250 -- is it really worth the extra 1.5" for upwards of $200?

Customs fees aren't included Moses, and I doubt that Goomba would risk getting caught for postal fraud by underdeclaring packages. Since the packages are being shipped USPS, you can at least know that you will only be paying a fee of $5 + taxes/duties rather than get raped with brokerage fees by any of the couriers.

Yeah... He uses USPS which is what you should ALWAYS use for border shipping. The maximum I can assure you'd get is like $15 CAD (what I spent on like a $300 item). It really, REALLY isn't worth being frugal over a small amount.

Most of the time, though, you arn't dinged. I never got dinged once from Goomba (you don't get dinged if it's under $50-60 most of the time)

I've already shipped a Black Zune 32GB to Europe as a matter of fact, and yes if it had problems you could always ship it back to me to send to Microsoft within the warranty period. Heck, if you want to buy an extended warranty through a local store I can even do that for you. I'm very flexible :)

Moses88, I can mark down customs a little bit but am not willing to totally mark down a big item. For instance I won't take a $1000 computer and say it's a $50 item. Nor can I mark items as "refurbished" when they aren't, or "RMA returns" etc. I'm not looking to get in legal trouble or have my reputation tarnished with the customs departments. Just keep that in mind. I do my best to warn you in these situations and can always ship items in multiple packages if I think it'll save you in the end.

RchrdJ, I really appreciate your holiday wishes. I know a few people aren't happy with me right now for package delays and un-expected item backorders and stuff (unavoidable with the crazy holiday seasons here in the US), but I'm definitely trying my hardest. Again guys, if you're wondering "Where the heck is my order" just politely remind me please. While I'm working on the new system for GFC (which will let you check your orders in real time) I'm sometimes lost in the shuffle of things. jj984jj, you earn bonus credit for having "JJ" in your name twice (my name is JJ by the way). Gamestop.com does NOT allow more than 2 copies per household, but I am able to find copies every now and then in stores. What I have been doing is just buying them when I see them and putting them in my online GFC store. They are first come, first served. I sold another one today which was my last copy. I hope to find more. Keep in mind the ones in the store are NOT sealed but they are New/Mint/Complete. Thanks. Keep an eye out on the store :)

It's snowing ridiculously fast again today. The post office is closed on New Years but I'll be packing items anyhow and shipping them out on 01/02/2009. It can be used or new really. To be honest, all I need is that little stripped-down sound card (it acts as a preamp, and I don't want to spend $30 on a preamp from amazon) near the male USB plug at the end of the cord. The reason I need the RB2 one is because it's not a big giant block square like in RB1.

So, technically, if you don't mind defiling your equipment, you can cut off the microphone entirely and ship it in bubble mailer if that'd be any cheaper :P

How much do you want for it though?

Good News and Bad News:

Good News: The new Beta site is still planned to launch this weekend (new DR forms and such).

Bad News: One of my Facebook friends got my computer infected with a malicious spyware of sorts that blocks my 128-bit encryption on IE and such. Without this my shipping software will not work.

OK News: The OK news is that I'm working on it and hope to have it all fixed by tomorrow. In the meantime I can still invoice, pack packages :) So I should be fine. Hang in there ^_^

The new site will be automated for Canada only initially. I will be adding Australia and other countries in the coming weeks as well. It will base shipping rates based on the country you chose when signing up for an account :)
