Okay so I'm going through all the packages now. Just so you know, I have about 60 new Emails today with DR's/Questions so I may not get to all of them. I will do my best though. I have to get up early for the casino job tomorrow, but will spend as much time as humanly possible now. So just hang in there. Please limit the "Where is my order' Emails for now if you can. Either I have them and will update the GYROS tonight or I don't. Oh not a problem PooPooRocket :) My comment wasn't marked towards you or anyone in particular. It's just that as a one-man-show every minute I spend answering Emails is a minute I could be spending packing your items ^_^ So while I don't really mind answering them, my customer base is now over 500+ customers so you can imagine how many Emails I get on a daily basis. It's just for those of you in the know to keep an eye on GYROS as I try to keep that as up to date as possible. I update it every day and when I ship items out, receive items or process new DR's I try to add them in near-real time. So just hang on there and I'll keep you posted as things change. THANKS ^_^

Yeah seriously beautiful. When my wife opened it I was like "Wow, I had no idea it was such a nice headset!" The packaging definitely sold me!

Coupled with the fact that I probably have the most extensive journalistic article I've ever written on gaming (It's quite literally about 45 pages with 18 chapters) -- Hopefully people will appreciate my work this time :P While I have no plans to make journalism a career, I have always wanted to do what Shipwreck does (reviews, podcasts, etc.) coupled with Jim Sterling (Opinion pieces, news journalism, podcasts, videos, etc). It has been my own little goal in life to get my online alias known on the internet, and to get respectable page views and comments. While my youtube endeavors were successful, that platform is too saturated. So, now I am trying elsewhere, and this time, a little more seriously.

I may be a little less fielding then I was for about 2 weeks, but it seems you have a temporary secretary in the midst!

I didn't realize they were at BlizzCon... SHouldn't that mean they got Starcraft beta codes? :P

It's funny because most people wern't around when they had the big breakup, people just know it happened. I still remember the Screwattack Closet feature, which actually, I personally liked.

Craig is great and all -- lovely man, but the duo together definitely had some of the best chemistry ever. The current crew isn't bad, but the closet relationship that seems to click with Craig and Tom is now Chad and Craig in my opinion.

P.S.: Did I mention the article will take me about HALF A YEAR to release after it's written?

As mentioned, the GYROS page (generally) doesn't lie as far as shipping is concerned :) If it says it's shipped it has. If it says it hasn't then it hasn't. Status isn't 100% up to date but shipping is always accurate there. You will also receive Emails every time an item ships ^_^

Okay guys, I get this question a lot so I will do my best to answer it as simply as possible. Below are many common stores people order from as well as the information about shipping/tax in relation to them. Here it goes. This isn't a complete list but if you want I can add information at any time and can attach it to the first post if you like (as well as on the website). Here it goes:

* Best Buy - Charges Shipping (generally $3.00 per item unless the item is available in my local store, then they let me pick up in the store for free). Charges 6% Sales tax on all items except for gift cards.

* Gamestop - Free Shipping for MOST items using the SAVER coupon code, though from time to time this is not available (for budget games or new releases at times). They charge 6% on all items except for gift cards.

* Amazon.com - Free Shipping on all items that are sold by Amazon.com themselves (not including marketplace sellers, third party sellers or affiliate sellers). I subscribe to Amazon Prime which gives 2-Day shipping on almost all games, movies, accessories, books, CDs, etc. If it's sold by Amazon typically I will get free shipping and no sales tax. There's a reason we do a lot of shopping here! ^_^

* Wal-Mart - Free Shipping for all items that can be delivered to a local store (Site-to-Store Shipping). This is extremely slow (2-3 weeks or more at times) but it is free in most cases. Good for online sales that are not sold in local stores around here even though it often takes a while. Wal-Mart is somewhat strict about ordering multiple copies of things though so if something goes on sale they have been known to cancel orders at their own whim. They charge 6% Sales tax on almost all items except gift cards. Clothes under $50 USD don't have any tax in my home state of CT.

* GoHastings.com - No Free Shipping. Typically charge $3.00-$7.00 for shipping which varies. Most items do not have sales tax.

* Target.com - No Free Shipping and 6% Sales Tax on all items except gift cards.

* Gamefly.com - Free Shipping and 6% Sales Tax on all items.

* Toys 'R Us - No Free Shipping and 6% Sales Tax on all items except gift cards.

* Clothing Stores (Various): Victoria's Secret, Gap, Old Navy, Express, etc. - Sales tax charged on all items over $50 USD in value. My state of Connecticut (CT) has no tax on items under this amount. Shipping varies based on stores but typically is between $5.00 - $7.00 per order.

WillGabriel, the Robots thing (GYROS) features many different places. Some were from Amazon at Retail, others were from eBay and a few were used copies from Gamestop. But yes the price is almost always $45-$50 plus shipping so not many deals on this one sorry to say. Best of luck though!

gsrce, a lot longer than 2 hours ... that was just one way :) So altogether about 4 hours for frilly dresses and my answer to you is: who doesn't! As a major Disney Fan, Tim Burton fan and yes girls in frilly dresses fan the movie is not to be missed. It definitely exceeded my expectations and I'm glad that it wasn't just a straight remake of the original. It's more of a sequel and has a lot of "Through the Looking Glass" elements. Definitely recommend it. I saw it in IMAX 3D which was also exceptionally nice for the eyes. The movie drips in visual effects and while the 3D isn't as fancy as Avatar's, there's a real genuine niceness about it all.

** GFC Direct Request Update **

I just wanted to let you guys know I am incorporating some really important changes to the Direct Request 2.0 website. The weight/price added service charge has always been in place with my manual orders but a lot of you don't truly understand how it works so I have added it into the automated DR 2.0 system (it's not yet in the DR Classic page as that is manually processed anyhow. It is explained on the Package Forwarding page though). So here's an explanation of how it works. Keep in mind I just coded this in about 90 minutes or so and there's a small chance it may glitch out. If you see something acting out of place, let me know. Here's how it works:

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be properly calculated by our new PHP code.

Normal items less than $150 in value or less than 5 pounds shipped will not be affected. This added service charge is necessary since some orders obviously require a lot more energy/time/work and this is a fair way to implement it. If you feel a service charge is excessive for a particular item, just let me know and I will consider revising it on a case-by-case basis. Thanks guys for understanding. Again, this is something I've had implemented for over a year now and doesn't affect most orders :)

Okay I just tested it with around 10 test runs and it seems to be working. Again, this isn't really anything new, it's just new that it's automated. This is to keep in line with my future vision of having all payments as close to automated as possible as it makes it easier for the invoicing stages, keeping my customers up to date and in-the-know on how much it'll cost them and of course will speed things up so I can process more package shipping and less manual calculating.

RoganSarine, it's something to think about but at the moment I think it makes more sense to do the item total because as it stands I've been getting several large orders lately (snowboards, skis, surround sound speaker systems, drum kits, 60+ games in a single order) so I think the weight/value added thing is somewhat necessary.

Most larger orders the savings are more substantial (for instance a $1500 computer) so I think typically the $5.00+ charge is fair. Again, if you feel your order is unfairly overcharged just let me know and I can take it into consideration. I have made exceptions in the past in terms of group orders/eBay lots/etc. Some items too that are smaller but heavy I sometimes make exceptions for. There's no denying though an item that requires me to drive my gas-guzzling SUV 20 miles to deliver due to an over-sized package deserves an additional charge though.

To further clarify, the additional money added isn't on the item total including shipping. It's simply the total of the items ordered OR the full weight of the package.

So if you have a $200 item and it weighs 4 pounds, the service charge would be $7.00 ($2.00 for initial service charge + $5.00 for the $150+ order). The weight falls under 5 pounds so it isn't charged anything extra but likewise a $290 item weighing 9 pounds would still only be a $7.00 service charge as the value does not reach $300 in total and does not reach 10 pounds in weight. Hope that makes sense :)

I highly recommend you play around with the Direct Request 2.0 system with some trial runs/test orders. Don't click the bottom for the payment options as that will actually submit an order to me, but the initial screen with the totals and estimated fees doesn't actually submit anything in terms of an actual order, so it's good for estimates. The fact that the script accurately calculates all fees now will better help you estimate larger orders. Smaller orders will be unaffected.

This automated system is necessary for the next steps which will allow you to have store credit shown in real time on the site. The option to load credit on the site will exist, past credit can be loaded into the system by me and your reward points will be calculated/deducted in real time as well. It's definitely a game-changer and will make our site far more professional in the end :)

Well, I'm not so sure that splitting up their order in your case (3 x $55 items) would really help them save them money in the long run. While it's true they would avoid the extra service charge from GFC, they'd end up paying more in postage typically as 3 games shipped separately would add up to more money in the long run (especially if they want to insure them and such). But you're correct. A smart shopper could systematically game my system, but really that's their choice. If you're creative enough to get around them then by all means :) It looks better in my records for taxes I suppose to have three separate sales anyhow in the long run. I'd typically prefer to ship three individual games actually than larger orders anyhow as they're far easier to pack! ^_^

You make a lot of sense :) But no worries. I'm not out to cheat you guys or try to skim extra money off the side. I just think easier orders should have lower fees and more complex/heavy/expensive/complicated orders should have an added fee to represent their level of difficulty/complication/extra care added. Will you be thinking about adding specific weight options for commonly shipped items, such as an average game or DVD (not boxed sets or tin casing or whatever)? For instance, shipping a normal PS3 or XBox 360 game is generally taken as $3. A normal person wouldn't really know what the weight is though. It starts getting confusing when they start adding on more games, since if their estimate for each game was an ounce or two off, the error would be multiplied. Basically, what I'm saying is what if you add a weight menu for each item, and add a few more options to the drop-down menu for common items (eg. DS game, XBox 360 game, etc.) instead of just having numbers. Then, it can automatically add up the weight of each item to get the total weight.

Now for something unrelated to the above. Are you able to use the CAG16 code for used gamestop games to get a 16% discount? What about EDGE discounts?

Also, if you haven't already considered it, the FAQ being placed at the bottom of the webpage is a little hard to find. It might be better on the top or side menu bars. Or, are you just keeping it at the bottom because it's not complete yet?

Ah, that's true. A reference page would probably be just as good and less cluttered. I have thought about the quality of used Gamestop games, but I wasn't sure if you had any locally where you can do pick-ups. If you do, it'd definitely be nice to get a complete game, even if there's a bit of an extra service charge and no 16% discount. As for your EDGE renewal... maybe for your birthday? Guys, I'm home from a relatively difficult day of work at the casino. Things are getting crazy with our big tournament coming up in two weeks and a bunch of new dealers are coming in as well. That being said I wanted to make one quick statement:

I don't believe in blatantly lying to customs for the sakes of avoiding duties/taxes/custom fees. I don't mind marking an item down a few dollars as many times used items and discounted items are cheaper than their MSRP, but I will not ever outright lie about an item or its value. Please don't expect me to mark a brand new computer as "defective" or "computer parts" or ask me to mark down on customs as being a "consumer sample" or "warranty return". Doing these things is not only something I don't believe in, but I could get into big trouble both legally and financially and it'd be the end of GFC. So please, keep this in mind. I don't feel comfortable doing it and won't. Thanks for understanding.

Typically speaking if it asks you to pay a fee up front then that covers all fees. If there is a fee I will let you know but I doubt it'd be much if any if it's asking you to pay that much up front. JoJoBlue, the Gamestops around me will not do custom orders from websites or other stores for new games unfortunately. I've tried this in the past and the closest I ever got was for one store to ship a used game to me from a New York Store. That is a good deal for the game, but like I said none around here. They tend to be opened anyhow (so not really NEW).

JoJoBlue, the Gamestops around me will not do custom orders from websites or other stores for new games unfortunately. I've tried this in the past and the closest I ever got was for one store to ship a used game to me from a New York Store. That is a good deal for the game, but like I said none around here. They tend to be opened anyhow (so not really NEW).

1) All Direct Requests that are PRE-PAID on the website (or through gift payments, personal payments) will be ordered as soon as the money is received. This way your items don't go out of stock and we lock in the prices that you request them at.

2) All Package Forwarding Items will be added into my system but you may not receive Emails from me until I receive them and type up your shipping invoice. This will be automated as well starting in April if all goes as planned. Please use the "Direct Request Classic" for these orders as usual.

All the first batch came with it, but if it doesn't have it, it's all good! I kinda just read up what it gave, it just unlocks some things early where you can do by ranking up anyways.

** GFC Overdrive Mode **

I worked overtime again at the casino job today and the orders jumped up to around 60 while I was away. I spent some time processing them and have them down to 40 now. Keep in mind these "orders" are sometimes just inquiries about the business, updates on existing orders or additional items being added to existing orders, but nonetheless they all take time. As always items that are paid for on the site or have payment sent along with the Direct Request are processed first and others will be processed afterwards. The next two days I have off from my casino job and I fully expect to catch up on all items during this time.

In addition, next week I have almost 5 full days off and will be processing at whirlwind speed and making some vital updates to the site behind the scenes. March 27th-April 11th I will be working 7 days a week for our Mohegan Sun North American Poker Tour (NAPT) event and some days may work up to 10 hours. During this time I expect to get a small backlog but will do my best to keep up. We will work this out at record speeds. Just hang in there and go with the flow ^_^ Thanks guys!

UPS has their own customs declaration process, which seems to be

For all you guys worried about the GYROS not being updated the last two days or so have no fear. I just was working an ungodly amount of hours at my day jobs and didn't get time, and when I did have time last night my server settings in Dreamweaver were acting up on me. The good news is that almost all of my difficult/big orders are complete now and I'll be back processing the other ones this weekend. We ended up staying overnight in NYC. This time around we're in the financial district and having a good time. Not as crazy run-around as our trip was in December, but it is a heck of a lot warmer :) Today was BEAUTIFUL and we walked probably about 5-10 miles just from shop to shop and restaurant to hotel and such. Didn't use the subway much as our hotel is kind of off the main grid, unlike last time. We will be returning back to Uncasville tomorrow around 9PM and I'm considering to take off Monday from work to work on GFC orders and spend the night with my wife on her real birthday.

I'm curious why a lot of you aren't getting my Emails. I recently switched to a secure Email client so I wonder if that's either not sending out properly or if they're going to your junk mail folders. I will have to look into this (or perhaps revert back to my old non SSL Email system I used for eons). I will try to test this out more in depth. I just got back from my mini 2-Day NYC romp so it's back to business. I'm taking off all day Monday (today) from work to work on GFC matters. ** Important GFC Updates **

Okay I just spent about two hours making some important changes that may not appear to be huge changes, but they're crucial to our success. The "DR Classic Service" page has now been updated in the following ways:

* Dynamic Order Number Given: Like the DR 2.0 system, your order will have a randomly generated order number that is used to identify your request. This helps us organize your orders and gives you a way to say "Hey Goomba, I ordered a copy of Final Fantasy XIII it was order: XXXXXXXX on the DR Classic Page". This lets me find your order in mere seconds instead of hunting through tons of folders and such. Like I said, very important change :)

* The form will now ask "Is This a Package Forwarding / Self Order: YES or NO? This will allow us to know immediately whether it is an order you have paid for yourself and shipped to our secure UPS address (aka Package Forwarding or Self Ordering). In the past we used this form for both Package Forwarding and general Direct Request classic orders, so this will help us identify which is which without confusion. Another big and important change for us!

* Items will now be numbered correctly #1, #2 etc. No more "Order #0" messages :)

More updates to come soon! These changes will help us significantly to keep up on orders and stay organized. Any suggestions or comments are welcome! ^_^

I think they know what I'm doing too because every now and then packages have come in other people's names and they weren't too happy with that. They have, however, put up with me this long though :) I think I'm one of the only people that uses their mailbox services and I pay the business rates which are higher than the standard ones, so I guess they forgive me in the end. I have to drive almost an hour to get there though so I drive my Prius which is a small car at times when shipping so many packages lol.
