Just wondering, if PayPal funds are funded by a debit card, does the 3% surcharge come into effect, or is that only for funds funded by a Credit Card?

As for Debit Cards, Paypal treats them the same way as Credit Cards. Also, on top of the credit card fee, Paypal now charges an across-the-border-fee as well so to accept Canadian Credit cards it costs me an extra 5-6% which is why I try to stay away from it when possible.

I don't think he can guarantee Izuna 2 posters. It says on the listing "Offer good while supplies last". Plus there won't necessarily be any way to tell it has the poster beyond opening the game and checking the contents, it's supposed to be packed in with the instructions. It's still nearly a month till it's release, so chances are good all the orders for the next couple weeks will come with it.

Oh, also. If you aren't in it for the pervy poster, Gamestop is supposed to have exclusive posters too. But they're just standard fare...

long story short: it SHOULDN'T be a problem for Goomba to get posters for everyone. the posters are IN the case.

I have found PSP memory sticks for cheap on eBay and other sites, but as I've told others I have a strong feeling that they are knock-offs or cloned cards (not officially licensed ones). From what I hear from people that have bought them, they work just as good in most cases (sometimes better) but they more than likely are not official Sony brand no matter how much the eBay sellers insist they are. If you find an auction on eBay or elsewhere let me know and I'd be happy to help you order it :)

Ammowasted, no it hasn't. A lot of eBay shippers (not me) are pretty slow shipping items unfortunately but I'll definitely let you know when it arrives and I'll ship it out usually the same day I receive it.

Turgore, most of the time first class mail is cheapest for sending multiple games. I believe I can ship up to 4 pounds worth of games in first class. Anything more than that and I have to ship with Priority (which is slightly faster but usually more expensive). If the box is really heavy then I can use flat rate shipping. I always ship with the cheapest option for you, so don't worry :) I'll do that part.

Excellent News Everyone!: The Ar Tonelico games are in! The soundtracks were shipped in separate little CD sleeves like mentioned on the website and the games are all factory sealed beautifully. I would mail them out tomorrow but tomorrow is the 4th of July in the US, so I will pack tomorrow and ship out on Saturday. Thanks to everyone who put in orders :) You're very close now!

As for the Xbox Live codes, I have the tracking information and it looks like they will be delivered on Saturday as well. Again, the 4th of July messed up all the mail this week so I apologize. Yup, I think FFXII is cheap pretty much everywhere to be honest with you. Also, again for the record, the TRU near my house tends to sell out of any good games right away during sales. When I go there (even on the first day) it's usually completely wiped out.

For my deals online deals are by far the best as well as Gamestop stores, Best Buys, etc. Stores that you can rely on having multiple copies of games :)

Also, limited edition/pre-order bonuses/time-sensitive orders are generally first come first serve as many stores only allow one per customer. Just so you know guys ^_^

Customs is not a problem with Rosenqueen, they're good like that ;) I was eyeing getting the $90 kit and shipping it is just $20 up to here. So it's probably not worthwhile getting larger items from them through you.

Yup, I realized it all depends on if Goomba gets charged shipping, since you're essentially paying for two shipments - shipping going to him and the shipping forwarding to you. In these cases, it may be cheaper to purchase directly from the source. That is, IF they ship internationally.
But when buying from sites that offer free shipping like Amazon, Goomba's the best!

Anyways, I think I'll pass on that Disgaea 3 bundle Goomba. It's not just high up on my priority list right now and it might be cheaper nearing the release date.

Okay not a problem Heimdal, but you got it:

1) If a company doesn't ship to Canada than obviously my services are worthwhile
2) If a company jacks up prices to Canadians just for the sake of jacking them up, then it's generally a good idea to go through me.
3) If an item is US-exclusive and not available in Canada, again my services are good to go.
4) If a company offers free shipping or discounts exclusively to the US....my services can save you money (sometimes quite a bit).

and the flipside...

5) If an item is extremely limited and only allows for one per customer than I may be able to help you but there's no guarantee I can get the item (in cases like must-have-phones, limited print games, etc.). Still worth asking though as I do try to order at least one of most special editions when I know people are looking for them.

6) If a store charges shipping to me and then I have to repackage and ship to Canada, obviously that's a price factor. It still comes out cheaper in many cases due to not having to use UPS/FedEX or whatever and also because most of the time there are no customs to pay with USPS, but still something to keep in mind. Not all sites are free shipping to the US (though many are if you order enough). Amazon is always free shipping for me (2 days in most cases) because I subscribe to Amazon prime :)

7) If an item is really heavy (say more than 5-6 pounds) then I will have to ship your item Priority Mail which is more expensive than First Class. The good thing, however, is that Priority Mail includes insurance up to $100 to Canada and adding additional insurance is extremely cost effective.

ammowasted, the 4GB ones were out only a short time and therefore magiic is right that they were axed pretty early on. I think at this point eBay is really the only place you're going to find them. I don't trust using Craig's List or those kind of local services much as there have been a lot of negative transactions using them (especially for higher end electronics).

How are you shipping at a reasonable rate while at the same time keeping the shipping costs low?

I have considered what you are doing myself, but Canada's waste of an agency we call customs loses...ahem..."loses" so many of my shipments or delays them weeks and months at a time so often that a $2 or $3 "profit margin" wouldn't come close to covering my risk.

UPS/FedEx have been way more expensive than USPS the few times I've checked into it (especially for small items), and to insure or track with USPS requires the item being registered (automatic +~$12)

I'm not trying to steal your idea here, but for my Ebay shipments moving forward, how are you shipping affordably without taking on too much risk? Currently I'm on the verge of stopping shipments to Canada altogether. 90% of the people I ship to in Canada experience SIGNIFICANT delays, "lost" packages, etc. and complain ad nauseum.

I believe Goomba is shipping First Class International (USPS). I think most of us have been fairly patient, with shipping times, knowing that FCI is slow, but cheap.

I find that a lot of US sellers that have had your experience, now refuse to send FCI, or USPS at all. Which means we are paying through the nose for UPS/FedEx/DHL, etc. I would rather just wait longer for my items, than pay expensive shipping. If I wanted it fast, I would buy local.

My advice to you would be to offer the cheap shipping, with disclaimer, that it is slower, gets caught in customs, and not insured. Buy must accept risks to get that shipping method. Other wise ship insured FedEx (who seem to have a fast track through customs).

Yup, JeffX lives in my back yard haha. No but seriously here are some responses:

1) Yes I do use First Class International for most packages. It's relatively quick and definitely the cheapest International option. The only thing is that for items that are 4 pounds or more I HAVE to (as in I'm required to) ship Priority Mail which is more pricey. So if you order game systems, heavy arcade controllers, fighting sticks, etc. many of these are 4+ pounds and therefore more money to ship.

2) Snowsquirrel brought up to me that I didn't mention that for some items I charge additional processing/service charges. For cell phones and any items that are typically more than $200-$300 I charge generally a flat fee of $10 rather than my usual $2-$3. This isn't just to make a quick buck, but rather there are a lot of additional costs and processing times with larger items. If you order a phone from me for instance I take a lot more financial risk in the process, have to invest more of my money while waiting for payment (to which I generally get processing/credit card fees, etc.) and of course shipping them requires extra packaging generally. For most items though the $2 for the first item and $1 for additional items in the same shipment stands.

3) Shipping time on average is 5-7 days from the day I ship them out. In most cases I ship out items the same day or next day after they come in. If you are ordering from Amazon.com I get 2 day shipping from them so you will get your items the absolute fastest (or if you order from GamesForCanada.com as most of those items are already in stock at my office).

4) I always keep track of the Customs form numbers just in case something is ever lost in the mail, but so far I've been lucky and never had a problem. If you want insurance I'll be happy to get it for you but note that I can only get insurance on Priority Shipment which is more expensive than first class.

I can get you one of those systems if you're interested. The shipping isn't all that awful actually. The Xbox 360 Elite packaged weighs 19 pounds and costs $43 for Priority Mail to Canada. I'm not sure if Dell charges tax or not (I believe they do charge a 6% tax). So altogether it'd be around: $369 USD total. Let me know if you're interested.

It looks like it includes the two games and an extra face plate as well. Seems like a good deal to me. Offer expires on 8/8 so let me know...not much time left.

Why you should order from Goomba: My Story

No this isn't some cheezy love story, it is actually kind of bizarre.

So I needed a new phone, hate contracts, and actually find prepaid to be much cheaper for my purposes. I like PIM devices, so but BB's and iPhones are tied to (expensive/voice) data plans. Enter the Palm Centro. It has reviewed well, _tons_ of software for it, syncs with Outlook, Thunderbird, Mail, gmail, google calender, etc, does email, _and_ it runs Garmins and Googles GPS software.

Rogers was selling it for $400 without a contract. That is $100 more than MSRP! I could order an unlocked one directly from Palm Canada for $300! Unfortunately the unlocked version only comes in white, which was a little too fembot for me. So Goomba ordered me a black AT&T one off eBay, which came to about $290 shipped (it slipped through customs, which was nice).

Five days after Goomba shipped, I am vibrating with excitement for phone to arrive. Decide to walk down to Post Office, on the off chance it has arrived already (unlikely due to me being in rural NS). What luck! It has arrived early. I kill the first hour after lunch doing nothing but playing with the phone, just loving it, feeling sorry for BB and iPhone owners.

An hour into ownership, still sitting at my desk still playing - not doing work, I get am email from Palm Canada: Apparently when I was researching the Centro, I entered a Contest on Palm's website, and have won a Palm Centro! Within an hour I went from 0 to 2 phones!

I didn't post this story until the contest Centro arrived, so as to not jinx it. :lol: Just got Contest Centro twenty mins ago. Anyway, the moral of the story is, buying from Goomba brings you good luck. :applause:

As an aside: I have a black unlock Palm Centro, used for two weeks, had a "Best Skins Ever" one it from day 1 for sale. As mint as it gets. Cost me $317 including skin and shipping. I let it go for $200 here ($215 shipped). Otherwise I am going to put it on eBay for $250. It is a lot of fun working in a casino (most of the time) but it'll be a LOT more fun if I get to work at this new casino's poker room...because dealers keep their own tips! Thanks Dan :) It took a lot of work (and it was hard to pull off while working two jobs, and involved a LOT of broken sleep) but it's overwith now. I officially got an employee number, went through licensing and registration and even got fitted for uniforms.. The only weird thing is that I do not yet know if I'm officially hired or not, but I'm assuming (and praying) that after all of that I will be. It's more of a matter of time now as far as I understand it.

I don't think it's necessarily intentional. I mean some of the people ordered things they genuinely wanted, but occasionally I'll get messages like:

"I found it locally for a few bucks more so I want to cancel my order". That's all fine and good if I haven't actually ordered it, but if I've already paid to have it shipped to my house and packaged it up, it's a huge waste of money and time on my part.

By only ordering after payment is received I'll avoid situations like this.

Another situation that's coming up a lot lately is "Can you send me the item first and I'll pay later"... Again, in the past I had no problem doing this, but some orders I've ordered almost two months ago and have not received payment for. So for the time being I can't ship before payment is received. Sorry guys, I'm sure the majority of you understand as most of you are excellent at communicating and paying :) Thanks for understanding!

I'm also shocked that some people here actually do that. At the very least, you should demand payment first to new customers of your service. People shouldn't ask to order something they won't want/afford.

Ragnar14, don't worry I didn't forget about you either ^_^ This has been a crazy week, but thankfully things are cooling down. The reason I'm slightly behind on invoices is that I was moving all my older orders/customers into my new system one by one and it took a while (I'm up to nearly 100 customers in total now!). Also, I'm keeping paper records of every order (for the inevitable tax season next April) and I want to make sure everything is in place. Doing so is what really caused me to notice the sheer number of orders I had put in for people that never paid. My new system will make it a lot easier to find these types of orders sooner and because I will not be ordering items before payment, it means there will be 0% risk on my end.

Your invoice should be ready sometime mid-day tomorrow :) I assure you. I am pretty sure yours is the last one that needs to go out (Invoice wise). I didn't forget about you my friend ^_^
