I wonder how it is possible that they are doing this... hopefully even if it is a reprint it looks identical to the original, no strange new printing on the case or anything.
Thanks for the heads up!

Play-asia tends to run into copies of hard to find games every now and then.
Radiant Silvergun, Chi no Rondo, Grandia Saturn, various limited edition JPN only sets, other out of print games, you name it and they'll price accordingly. I'm surprised they managed to find NEW copies of the game of all things, especially since they're charging less than MSRP when they know they can get moar than that from buyers (hello Radiant Silvergun sales?).
They're awesome that way. :)
Tho if this version of SMT3 is a reprint, then that means other places will be getting copies of it as well; however I kinda doubt that, tho I'm more than willing to eat crow. Moar people need to play this game.
Edit: Speeling.

Wow copies on eBay sell for around $80. Imagine how much a sealed copy would go for...

First print sealed copies could go around 200+. If these are not reprint, this is a really good deal.

How can you tell from a first print from a second/normal/last print tho (other than by weight because all first print has the bonus cd sampler in it)? I'm looking at my first print copy of the game and there's nothing different in terms of the box, other than the P-A picture has Rating Pending rather than Mature 17+.
Tho if this is indeed a reprint, like queried before, it won't be the first time Play-Asia was first to break something like this. They also spilled the beans of MGS Essentials US and NiGHTS PS2 JPN before everyone else.

I can dig more info when I get back home - I have both first print and reprint of Disgaea. There might be a subtle difference in fine print at the back of the packaging.
If you are wondering about making it sure before ordering, I don't think there's not much to do. The only way to figure it out would be either official word from Atlus or Play-asia, or someone actually open the package from PA and verify OST insert. Oh yea, another way to confirm it would be PA saying it was a mistake and stock level going back to WILL-NEVER-BE-AVAILABLE-FOREVER.

It is a reprint, it does not come with the soundtrack. This is likely a response to Persona 3 and people looking for other similar games. It's a good move on Atlus to showcase other games, even if that means ticking off people who paid good money for it (like me).
Word to the wise however, get one while you can. Disgaea was re-released and new copies are gone and slowly going back up.

I believe in Disgaea's case there are two notable exceptions. The banner on the original is black on the side while the reprint is white I believe ( I could be wrong) and the other would be the security strip on the top which the reprint does not have.

Should I buy this and play it, or buy it and keep it sealed forever?
Doesn't really look like it'll interest me. I'm waiting for P3:FES anyways.

Buy two copies, one to keep sealed one to play 8-)...... jk
I've played both games, and I personal think Nocturne is better then P3: fes, they're both extraordinary games, but I think the plot for nocturne is a bit better.
Gameplay wise they're both great :P

Yeah, that's what I have deduced after telling a bunch of people, each of them buying a copy and P-A still haven't sold out yet.
And agreed that this is a good move for everyone (except squatters). If something like this happened more often, we would never have to worry about squatters and hoarders.
Also good games need to be printed more often anyway. :p

P-A's shipping rates are worldwide, and are speedy even with their cheapie rates.

How the hell can it be a reprint?
I bought this game 3 years ago from amazon.ca and it came with no OST!

Easy, my boy.
The news of this reprint on Play-Asia has spread to many gaming sites already and they still haven't sold out yet.
That and P-A isn't selling it as their usual 'rape you in the ass because it's hard to find' prices. (I thought I already explained this in an earlier post? O_o )
So stop complaining and tell this to others who wanted Nocturne but doesn't want to feed squatters.

There was two versions released, the LE which was 2 disc and a 1 disc limited print that came out around the same time. If you see some sealed copies with the original security strip, you can tell the difference on it.
Someone could easily just buy the soundtrack (which will likely keep a decent value) and just add it and call it the LE. The guide likely won't get a reprint so grab one if you can.

shipping was $5.60 on two copies of it. It was half of that for shipping of one copy.

except last time I ordered from them; customs canada raped me for 20$ worth.
They were satisfied, I was violated.

thats one thing to keep in mind, play-asia doesn't mark things as gifts. So expect to pay sales tax + $5 on the before shipping value of your purchase

Yesterday's foe is today's ally! Persuade over 100 different demons to join your party. Some demons may evolve into new forms on their own or fuse them to form even more powerful demons.
Customize your character with Magatama, living parasites that grant the host demonic powers!
Depending on the choices you make, you'll follow one of several ideologies which will ultimately determine the fate of the entire world!
Special guest appearance by Dante, from Capcom's Devil May Cry series. Will he become your most feared enemy or your greatest ally?
Over 50 hours of gameplay!
This reprint does NOT include the soundtrack CD!
I guess this will solve all the mysteries.

Anyone else have any news on this yet? I asked a guy I know who's manager of a Gamespot in Florida if he knew anything about recieving a shipment of these and he didn't know anything about them.
Though he also told me they didn't recieve the Disgaea reprint that showed up in stores about 2 years ago, or the one after while there were a bunch here in this backwater city.
Too bad calling to check at various EB's isn't very useful since they never know until like a day or 2 before a shipment is due to arrive regarding what's in it or not.
