They probably won't have it on the release date (or even a day after like stores like GameStop usually do) anyway, and even if they did, if they were like the CC I used to work out, they probably wouldn't bring it out from the back for a couple days, and claim to not have it if you ask... By the way when I worked there I did bring out all the new games if PFT didn't, even though it wasn't my responsibility (I sold TVs). :)

i dont think that is possible since xbl is really the only place actually selling the map pack. all CC is doing is giving away a code, it doesnt really have a value in their system since they dont actually have it to sell.

on another note: you should be able to return the game with no hassle. I say this because I bought Condemned 2 for the sole purpose of getting condemned 1 for free. I planned on returning C2 to get C1 for free, and guess what? It worked. Despite the "haters" on the board who called it scamming or said it wasnt gonna work, it did, and i got C1 for a penny! ...So yah back to the topic...do it up, and cancel that preorder when you get the code

They ONLY charge when the game ships....I cannot see them charging $10 for the map-pack if you cancel the order since it is only 800 points (I never read the fine print, but I'm sure there is something like you cannot turn these points into monetary value...or something like that).

NG1 was a very good game , but tough as nails.

I bought Black when it came out just cause it supposedly had a "easy" mode (not really since the only gave you like 500 extra orbs and a potion, which is good for the 1st stage only)

But a great game, amazing game (playing the ds version right now, and it work great)

NG2 is supposed to have 4 different difficulty modes, so I will pick it up at some point.

What? NG is not THAT hard. It's really all about precision and being very aware of your environment, learning enemy attacks, etc. It's closer to a fighting game than most action games in that regard. GOW is also a great game, but its much much more simplistic. The enemies are dumb as nails, and the game really is all about button mashing and learning a few of the screen clearing combos.

What GoW lacks in the depth of the combat system it gains in the story mode, which is one thing I wish NG had a better one. What I wanted to know was whether anyone's receipt for the pre-order mentioned the code special offer. I know the actual code should come in a week or so, my receipt just didn't mention or confirm it.

And to KyleN, my receipt said the same thing, "Order Number: Pending." I think that's just because it's a pre-order and the game hasn't shipped.

You can only redeem points and Gold subs on xbox.com - all DLC has to be done through the console itself.

I liked black out a lil - but I didnt enjoy the background/textures as much as lockout.

The big snowy one was decent but I played 4 on 4 and it just seemed too big.

and sidewinder is gonna take a lot of getting used to, feels like you cant just run you have to run and dodge crap all over the place.

Sure Im taking advantage of the system, but digital codes dont cost any money, and MS charging 10 bucks for a few maps is sick when you consider how many copies of halo 3, a map pack in of itself, went for 60 bucks.

Honestly, all this getting the code and cancelling I see here leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. All it means is that you won't see offers like this in the future.
Honestly, if you HAVE to have it on release, get overnight shipping or buy it somewhere and return the CC copy to that store when you get it. Why rip off a failing company for doing something good for you?

Seems to be correct as I ordered on Tuesday and got the code on Friday. I really wish though I could of setup in-store pickup instead of the shipping.

I agree that these maps are a LOT of fun but it's retarded that they're charging $10 for 3 maps when CoD4 charges the same amount for 4 maps. No wonder CoD4's maps sold a million downloads.

I disagree that the maps "didn't cost anything" for Circuit City, though. Someone had to pay for them and it was most likely CC, but on the other hand I've gotten screwed over so many times by them I really don't care. I feel like I'm getting some money back that I lost from past purchases.

These maps are really really fun. Ghost town is my favorite for team slayer types. Just great lighting and architecture - is that a remake? Reminds me of the care put into the single player levels.

These need to be free at some point and put into the rotation.

breakout is a remake of lockout, avalanche is a remake of sidewinder, ghost town is new.

I don't care for avalanche, too big IMO cause I don't play big team matches. Breakout owns, cause lockout was one of Halo 2's best IMO. Ghost Town is pretty sweet too.

Slayer would be lame but CTF and Plant the Bomb are so much fun with all the vehicles. Although... it seems like it's only loosely based on Sidewinder.
